Decided to do a breakdown of my bike cause its been a minute! let me know what you guys think and thanks for watching!

It is most definitely worth it.
There are only a few things that would stop me from telling someone to get a surron.
1. Storage (I live in an apartment on the top floor so getting it up and down is a mission)
2. Cops. Some states/countries are stupid strict on these things, overall if youre not gooning around in public you shouldnt have a problem.
3. Are you okay with the boring stock surron or are you okay with spending a lot of money to actually turn it into the beast it can be?
Personally I bought the surron stock thinking it would be enough to satisfy me (coming from supermotos and sports bikes and only town riding) but after a month or so I dumped another 3k into parts alone. And now half a year later I'm about 10k in to the total build after upgrading only controller and batter + a few cosmetic things like wheels and seat cover. If you make a decent amount of money or simply don't have a lot of bills, GET A SURRON. Also if you aren't in a hurry id say wait a year or two and I think the market on these will go down a decent chunk since they are coming around the 6 year mark since release, finding a used one with upgrades for about half the price of you building it yourself will be no issue. However, finding used ones at the moment are pretty hard depending again on where you are located. Just be patient and the right one will come by. When I bought mine a few months back I grabbed it for 4700 used and now you can buy them for 4200 brand new. 6 months ago they were 5200 new. Learn from my mistake and don't rush into it.

I say you should keep the Fox 40s on the "SURRON BUILD", really makes it stand out and distinguishable from other people's builds
The Fox4o is the biggest waste of money that people put into these bikes. The fork is really nice for a mountain bike, but isn't sturdy or rigid enough for the weight of a Sur Ron/Talaria. This bike will never need more than a decent FastAce; which is much stronger and actually built for the weight of an Emoto. It may not be as comfortable as the Fox, but it will more than handle anything that you can throw at the bike. That alone shaves 1k off the top. All the cool but pointless cosmetic billet aluminum parts can go too lol.
I had my Surron for about 2 months. Put 400 miles on it and already blew the seals out the fastace that come on the bike. Definitely not good suspension. Ext is the way to go if you are gonna drop that much on forks
@@bankruptremy4987 Agreed. EXTs are the only viable aftermarket options.
@nxdboi not any more, lot of good options now. Whether that be rebuilding the fastace fork with better parts, or getting the 2024 kke fork (pretty nice for the money apparently).
@@codyschexnyder4803 The FastAce rebuild has been around forever. They are much better than stock, no doubt, but they are not EXTs. But that's not the point I was making. The point I'm trying to make is that no MTB fork (FOXs and the like) will work as well as forks designed for these bikes, no matter how much you spend on them.
only recommendation of things you can do is give it away to someone that doesn't have an r8 in the garage just chillin...

I think it's worth if you not have a real dirt bike or the money is not counts and you feel yourself good with the rides. I think it's worth it about the places you can ride with this bike than a combustion engine bike. But i think it's not wort it to buy a Surron or a Talaria because if you want to ride a good you must replace everything except the frame. So first you buy a frame for 4500$. After that you need to replace closely everything. And if you getting bored after a few months of this bike, you never get back the money what you spent on it. Maybe you can sell it for the bike's new price with custom tunes. And that is maybe the best price, if the Surron or Talaria company release a newer, better and stronger stock versions of this bikes. After that, maybe the all of these bikes will never can be sell... because everyone will wants the new better versions.

Hey if you put the seat lift you can run your chi compact battery flush without the 3d spacer works really nice with rc plug in on prickly inigition plate. I have almost the same set up but I just ordered the new factory spec Ko motor I have the bac 8, I an gonna bump my Tune to 21Kw. I have the same chi battery they claim a top kw rating of 22kw.
You should try out the Fox DHX2 Rear Shock. it is a 10.5x3.5 shock if you get the metric one which is the same as the stock surron size.

Its totally worth it. Im like 8k into mine and still need 18/21 tires, 72v 50ah battery, bac 8000, upgraded motor, new rear shock, and new triangle kit. Then i might feel better hahaha. But its still fun as hell taking it out how it is now

Anything you enjoy a lot is worth the bucks. When you do it as well as you do we get the thrill of that kind of ride and we wouldn't if you didn't have that bike. Go nuts, and piss outside. Good video. Pax.
If you want some moto style forks go with the Fastace Forks Custom Tuned by Charged Cycle Works.
I had the Fox 40s on mine before and was bottoming them out then had a buddy even break his.
Got the new Fast Ace Custom tuned, they feel better, look better (my opinion) . And don’t flex at all compared to the 40s.
I’ve tried it all, Manitou Dorados, Boxxers, Stock, 40s and Fast ace is the way to go. And you can sell your 40s and pay for more then your fast ace would cost 😉. Message me with any questions.
I agree. The Fastace fork with the Suspension Syndicate tune makes my Fox 40 feel like a toy. And yes, I sold my Fox 40 for more than the new Fastace.

Yo Zay, great vid as always. Quick recommendation - I have had at least 15-20 surrons/talarias with almost every setup you can think of. The biggest and best upgrade I've ever felt was my buddy's rear shock, the Ohlin one, TTX22M. Made the bike feel actually sprung and suspended, and made more of a difference than any fox 40 or rockshox boxxer i put on. Just my 2 centzz :)

Sick build and nice video, especially all the riding/Jumping footage at the end. Just starting to find all this PEV stuff and I'm digging the Sur Ron and all the other ebikes. With all that's out there today, what would you recommend for a first bike that would hopefully be able to upgrade relatively easily? I live in a big city but have desert all around outside the city limits. I'm considering a Sur Ron (obviously) but also the Solar E-clipse seems to have a good bit of potential. Can someone explain to me why the drop crown is beneficial? I'm running boxxer RC forks on my surron and I don't see any issue running them with out a drop crown, but maybe I'm overlooking something. Thanks.

60v is a good choice for longer range and more speed, but not as much top end as a 72v
