Sr’s commitment to being an absentee parent is less damaging to Jr. if Sr. remains consistent about that position while Russell is constant. Jr. will know to have no expectations and can’t have his hopes dashed repeatedly when Sr. breaks promises. If Future doesn’t want to parent, forcing him can only hurt Jr. At this point, just gone for good.

My biological dad was not present in my life, my "step" dad raised me as his own, he is my dad, I am his daughter. He has never said an unkind word about my biological dad. I am very blessed and fortunate to have him.
