Claire, I loved this video. I’m 81 years old and I have lots of plants in my tiny home that I now know their needs and they are thriving but in my younger housekeeping days my few plants consisted of sad looking cuttings from my mother’s that were potted up in dirt from the garden. We wouldn’t have thought of buying dirt. I don’t know if it was even available. Looking at old photos now I realize the plant styling I thought I was doing was pretty sad. I didn’t think about light needs. Once in a while I would scrimp on my grocery allowance to buy a small Pothos at the grocery store and I was thrilled! Thank you Clair for the trip down memory lane. Donna

I’m in a rented house but it has picture rails so I’m currently making macrame hangers to put up with picture hooks all along the wall behind the sofa. Thanks for the validation that this will look fabulous!

I do love how you've decorated your house now. Maybe you have in another video, but it would be helpful to take us through your plant setup and explain light levels in your current space. Some of us (me) out there are clueless on where to put plants in the house.

I am digging the reaction videos! Also the courage to do it since so many of us struggle with fears of being judged. This is such a great opportunity to consider how we have improved and can continue to improve instead of putting ourselves down. Love it!

Ross needs a “party time” plant Alternanthera. Its leaves are green with a bright pink variegation!
You were talking about things you say a lot, I particularly enjoy “on the whole” cause in my experience that saying is always followed by a giggle or set into a joke 😂❤

That was really valuable, thanks Claire . I’ve realised first know where you want a plant, then choose which plant for that placement, but it’s taken me about 4 years to realise it and since then I’ve got loads of plants which get slotted in wherever I can fit them 😵‍💫love the jungle but more like find a hole style 😂

Clinical! Exactly! My husband is always tempering the amount of plants I keep in any given room and too few is too bare and clinical!

I love these go back in time videos. 🎵"If I could turn back time .... 🎵 would I have styled differently. Younger plants, a younger Joli and a younger Claire . Glad to see the Allocasia - Portodora in its fuller size. Did you have the same issues with that plant back then as you do now? So few plants back then. Please do more of these kind of videos!!!!

This was a fun video! Yes I’d like to see more like this. I was in the pon excitement for a bit and I have very few currently growing in pon. I feel they do so much better in soil and I’ve transitioned back into soil but I mix my soil. I have 5 containers with different types. Carnivorous plant soil, chunky Aroid mix, a slightly airy one for my pothos plants and a very well draining sandy mix for my succulents. Everything except my carnivorous soil are similar. I just find it easier to have soil ready to go and I can stack the tote boxes when not in use. I find it relaxing to custom mix my soil and to repot. Speaking of tote boxes, need to check on my props. 🙉

Thanks Claire! One of the items I’ve been enjoying for plant styling is Hugo’s Magic Tape on moss poles. It’s clear and nicer to look at than the green Velcro, and it helps with raising humidity around root growth. It also only sticks to itself so it doesn’t get covered with substrate; or my pets hair🤦‍♀️ LOL. I love your clear square orchid pots you’ve been using for your Anthurium by your balcony. Are you able to share what brand they are and where one might get them? Thanks so much!!💜🧡❤️

Positioning for light aside, it looked great. It’s surprising how the plants make the room look larger. I guess it’s cos your eyes move from plant to plant rather than seeing the room in one hit as it were. 🤔 someone smarter than me might know 😂
