Sorry for all the noise in the background. Since moving I have to film right next to a window that has the most light. Before I lived next to a park so my older videos had birds singing in the background, how I miss those birds LoL
Love all that you do and Im telling you I would be the first to buy a book from you no matter what it was but a shawl book oh yeah lady please do it!!!! Hugs from Nebraska!!!!!!
I came across your channel and I absolutely love this shawl. I have looked through some of your tutorial and I really love some of the other shawls you have done. I can't wait to get started making some of the things you make. Thank You for your tutorials. Stay safe and God Bless
So glad you found my channel Dorothy! Yes please take your time and look around. I've had my channel going for many years now, even before HD camera's so some of my tutorials are old but are still useful! I post a new tutorial every other week and Crochet round ups of the most trending designs on the off weeks. Have a wonderful day! God bless you and yours.
Wonderful! I'd love to see a picture of your progress on the group! Could you share a picture this Wednesday on "What are you Working on Wednesday"? Here's the group facebook.com/groups/986820972349897
Oh Wow I love this feather butterfly shawl it is so beautiful 😍 actually looks like butterflies throughout the whole shawl which is awesome, I love butterflies ❤️🙂 I was looking for a new pattern to try and I think I might give this try, it is very pretty 😍 thank you, keep up the good work 💕🦋🦋
I just purchased the Feather Butterfly Shawl PDF from Ravelry. I have read through it several times. It is quite confusing to me the way it is written particularly rows 2 and 3(DC into same beg ch 3 space. Ch 2 and DC 2 more times in beg 3 space. To end: skip last DC and sl st into beg ch 3. ch 3 and turn. Row 3 is equally confusing. Please explain. Should ch 3 at end of row 2 be at the beginning of row 3? It's that way throughout.
When you begin a row you always ch 3 and turn. The beg ch 3 counts as the first DC. so when you begin a row by "DC into same beg ch 3 space. Ch 2 and DC 2 more times in beg 3 space." YOu are adding that 2nd DC. Then you finish your shell by CH 2 and DC in that same space. Keep in mind that for that whole row you are putting 2 dc's ch 2 and 2 dc's in the same space. Hope that explains it better for you. Now for the end. "To end: skip last DC and sl st into beg ch 3" it's just saying after your last shell of DC 2 , ch 1 DC 2, skip over to the ending ch 3 and put a DC into it. Perhaps if I named it "Ending chain" it would have helped make this less confusing?
I am a beginner and slow, lol. And I don’t know how to follow patterns or crochet book, I don’t t understand it. I just want to follow alongside with you when I think I’m ready to try. So please show us new beginner how to crochet this beautiful shawl of yours. Thank you🙏😘
I used to be a beginner friendly only, but then as my audience grew and learned then I as to slow, so I created my website so those who needed that extra help could follow along side the written pattern with the tutorial. I always add the link to the pattern under the video. 👇 The PDF has pictures as well if you'd like to get that from the shop to help this designer ❤️ Also TIP: RUclips now allows you to play a video at slower speeds, this can also be a helpful tool for you. Best wishes! ✨
If you make a book please could you allow it to be available as an e-book too, so that those of us living abroad would be able to buy it? Shipping rates are crazy expensive!
I’m a plus sized woman. I can usually add more stitches to increase the size. This one has me baffled. Is there a way to make it larger while still using fingering weight yarn? I really don’t want to go up in the yarn weight. I’m pretty sure I’d have to add extra stitches in row 1 but 14 instead of 7 would probably be too much. I’m thinking I’ll try 10 stitches instead of 7 or does it need to be an odd number? Any help would be appreciated.
I have a question for you but do not know where else to ask it. I just finished a large doily. I used YarnArt Flowers Moinlight yarn. How can I safely block my doily and not ruin the glittery filament that is woven through the yarn? Any help would be deeply appreciated!
This is the only video. Just do the repeats and increase rows as I show in the video. Follow along with the pattern to see when to switch between the two. The PDF shows pictures that may help you further. Best wishes!
I made them using a full yarn cake, these skeins are to expensive to show them in all sizes. I stopped at this size only because I ran out of the yarn cake.
I have all ten of them in one book. feel free to buy the ones you want, but if you ant all 10 then you get a buy 9 get one free by the way it's priced. Etsy and ravlery doesn't let you do it any other way

Yet! You can learn, believe in yourself. This is why I make these tutorials along side the patterns, use them at the same time for a great learning tool 😀
I wish you crochet along while you’re talking so I will understand it more. By talking only, I will never understand it unless you show while you talk like the other teachers. Thank you again. By only talking , I will never can follow because I can only crochet alongside with the tutorials/ teachers.
I do show teach how to do the increase row on video. The talking you mention is the advice on what to look for when you need to do another increase row. Since everyone crochets at different tightness's and may choose a different ply yarn than I do, then this is the best way to ensure the shawl will come out looking great! You say in another comment on this video an hour ago that you're a beginner which is usually fine with most of the butterfly shawls, but this one is a bit more advanced and does take a bit of skill in noticing when to do an increase row.
I wish while you’re crocheting while talking😔. I did not understand anything what you’re taking about. As a beginner, I need to see just like the other tutors. I don’t understand anything.I’m sorry . I have to find another tutorial for this style.

A real beauty!
Thanks!
The look like Angel wings
And they look like Angel wings
13:25 so I pulled everything back out and just put a slip stitch instead of the chain 3 it puts it closer to the space
If you make a book please could you allow it to be available as an e-book too, so that those of us living abroad would be able to buy it? Shipping rates are crazy expensive!
It will only be an e book, not going to be in actual print :)

All butterfly shawls are just a repeat that can be stopped at anytime when you reach the desired size, I don't think you need to change it at all.
Hobium yarns make yarn art yarn they still have lots of the cakes.
Any easy way to keep count of the rows. I am always loosing count
Use markers to mark the start of a section, then mark your shawl again when you do an increase row
Do you have the book yet. I want one! Just found you!
I sure do! You can see it on the right on this page www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/feather-butterfly-shawl
I just realized that I was unsubscribed to you. I'm back again 😊
Hurray! 😁🎉
I have a question for you but do not know where else to ask it. I just finished a large doily. I used YarnArt Flowers Moinlight yarn. How can I safely block my doily and not ruin the glittery filament that is woven through the yarn? Any help would be deeply appreciated!
I only did a bit of blocking back in the day. I tend to stay away from projects that need blocking, best to look it up on RUclips.
@@Meladora1 thank you
do you have a video that is a little longer,,iam a visual learner and sometimes need to see it done,,silly i know
This is the only video. Just do the repeats and increase rows as I show in the video. Follow along with the pattern to see when to switch between the two. The PDF shows pictures that may help you further. Best wishes!
Can i use 3 weight yarn?
YEs, just know it will take more yarn to make it to the size you want. But you'll get there eventually.
Is it possible to add a hood to this?
It's not flat at the top, it slopes down so if you have the skill to compensate for that then it would be possible.
@@Meladora1 thank you, I might add some rows on the side
It would be nice to see these shawls on an adult so we can better judge fit. Then maybe buy the pattern!
I made them using a full yarn cake, these skeins are to expensive to show them in all sizes. I stopped at this size only because I ran out of the yarn cake.
I would buy your book, you could do them in like buy one and add on volumes
I have all ten of them in one book. feel free to buy the ones you want, but if you ant all 10 then you get a buy 9 get one free by the way it's priced. Etsy and ravlery doesn't let you do it any other way

By only talking , I will never can follow because I can only crochet alongside with the tutorials/ teachers.
But I do talk and show at the same time. I only offer tips on the repeat as you continue the shawl.
I have to see it to be able to understand. Just talking about it I will not understand. I’m a visual learner.

Design one of these that will fit adult as this does not.
This is a repeat pattern that you can do until it reaches the size you need.
