Until the women's court system is reformed I cannot see any reason a man should enter into a relationship. It's high risk High liability with a diminishing rate of return. Men have to assume the vast majority of the risk. It's just a bad deal for men. No denying that marriage is the best place for children. Marriage is the best for women too as they get a labor slave and a wage slave.

Not just more women joining the workforce, but also the floodgates being opened to massive immigration by the 1990’s . I’m generation X as well and I remember when you could finish high school and get a decent blue collar job and be able to afford a starter house and a family with a wife, maybe working part time. Since the 1970’s corporations have been outsourcing manufacturing jobs, but now they donate money to corporate politicians who insource labor at the same time. With more people competing for jobs and affordable housing the demand outpaces the supply
My points exactly. I could have made this video an hour long. In fact, I deleted about an hours worth just to keep it short. But, this is a huge issue that is a byproduct of some poor leadership from politician for generations. Thanks!
@@john-griffinThe 90’s UK govt (Blair, Socialist) trumpeted a “service” economy here whilst encouraging manufacturers outsourcing to China. That worked out well for the Corporate elite. The West is done for now. At this point we are only trying to lose more slowly.
I don't think it's too late. China did not manage their political ambitions well regarding world domination, and now they are in big trouble. Many counties are bringing their core manufacturing home.
I cannot express how much I appreciate you and the other men who have walked the path and now warning the younger generations of the pitfalls that can ruin lives. I am able to learn from older guys and think for myself about what I want. I have no fantasy anymore about women/relationships/marriage that will magically make me happy. Thank you

The "government" is a corporation. Its registered as such in capital letters. We live in a technocracy under a slave contract called "birth certificate". Human farming is basicly what it is.
Your channel is going to get a lot of attention and I am happy for you. It’s nice to have found you early on in your journey and look forward to watching your progress. Lastly thank u for what you do, it’s important
Thanks, I really appreciate that. I am glad that we have the chance to create a community of guys who can support each other. Maybe if this channel takes off we can start a movement to make changes to the legal system to make marriage a safer option for more men.
I’ll tell you what else happened in the 1970’s that had some serious unintended consequences. President Nixon took the world off of the gold standard because the government to longer had the gold to back the dollar. The government defaulted on its debt and is still defaulting. This is where every generation without hard assets began becoming poorer and poorer.
Interesting. Fiat currency to the rescue. What’s funny is hoe these valueless currencies are used to back crypto currency! And the crypto bros say irs better than the fiat currencies funding it.😂😂😂😂
Unchanging may give guys a sense of comfort, but in my experience, women become easily bored and will cause change if it doesn't happen on its own. In the worst cases, women who don't know how to be comfortable with themselves try to get that comfort based on things outside themselves, usually in a relationship. Bottom line, whether man or woman, if you don't know how to be comfortable with yourself, you can't get comfort through someone else.
I agree completely. It is being able to generate your own happiness that is really lacking. The next shiney thing that captures their attention. Thanks
Great insights here. Men and women were not designed by nature to both be in a rat race. Progress, technology, social media, and feminism has divided us and essentially created a gender war. But at a fundamental level, men and women NEED each other. But you have to wonder if we'll ever go back to a more traditional way of living and an environment that's more conducive to healthy, long lasting relationships to the benefit of families, children, and society. Right now, we're going in the other direction and the impact on society is not positive.
Ironically, when you look at the development of western civilization compared to civilizations and other parts of the world, marriage played a really significant role in our dominance culturally over other civilizations. Keeping together, families and developing alliances through relationships gave us an advantage. I think if we dismantle that structure, we may make ourselves vulnerable.
@@john-griffin I agree 100%. Strong families is the backbone of society and without that, things start to crumble at all levels. I blame family law as the primary culprit as it has created an incentive for wom3n to break families apart.
I think that our democracy is trying to protect everyone’s rights. The problem with that is it, it runs into not having any core values that people can turn to as a form of guidance. So people are left kind of rudderless in a hurricane I’ve information. I get blown all over the place and they don’t know which way to go. Thanks again for your insightful feedback. I really appreciate it.
I was born in the mid 1950’s, and consider myself to be a “child of the 60’s.” Both my parents always worked outside the home. That’s what I was used to growing up. If women want to be equal with men, they have to work for wages and have their own money and their own bank account. To be a “Housewife,” is to be a woman solely dependent upon men, which will lead to economic catastrophe for her if the marriage ever ends. (And in life, everything always ends.).
It is a secret. What's funny is that I am in Northern Virginia, about 20 minutes from DC. The county where I live has over 1 million people. But this little oasis is a stretch of land tucked between neighborhoods and parks that cannot be built on. Very few people are even aware it exists. Plus, most people are too lazy to get out and explore, so they would never find it even if they knew it was here. Thanks for asking!
Imo this nostalgia for the past is overrated. There is also no reason to hate women. They have always been like this. It is their nature, and by that, the species survives. No amount of social conditioning can overcome hardwired genetics. It can screw it up, maybe. I think the internet just gave men a way to compare notes. If you look back throughout history, pockets of men have always made the same observations about the sexes, and there have always been men who avoided family for these reasons. There is no magic time to go back to, no magic solutions. One either accepts things as they are and works with it or escapes and goes one's way. The 1950s are dead and gone.
Challenges in relationships are natural, but a path forward always exists. My marriage faced serious challenges, but with the right support, my wife and I resolved our issues and reinforced our bond. Solutions are within reach if you’re committed to the effort and working together. Don’t lose hope-answers are possible.
Letting someone you deeply care for go is always difficult, but in my scenario, I was fortunate to have the counsel of a spiritual mentor who preserved the unity of my marriage. Her name is Suzanne Ann Walters.
@@LeonardEarnshaw I’m really not trying to be negative and I really do hope you guys continue to work it out, I just want to point out there is never a point where you can have a sign of relief that she will never leave, No matter what you two been through together and how long you been together she can always just leave and that’s the problem, If you did something to justify her leaving then she should but the fact that she can just leave and benefit from leaving you EVEN when she did something wrong make’s one come to the conclusion that the marriage contract isn’t worth it for men, Also If she “truly” love you why she pushes you and need you to sign a third party contract with the government? So the government can have a say in “your” relationship??? The more I think about it the crazier it sound, I have a family and wife for 11 years (without the contract) Now that’s love.
Progress & technology has shown us the 'true nature of human beings', both Men & Women. Humans have always been the way we see ourselves today. Religion and strong Male figures kept the crazies in check but now that the family structure has been destroyed by feminism we're seeing what society truly looks like left to their own devices.
Stop blaming ''feminism'' for changes already under way long before the 60's. The 1950's household was an anomaly-we were the only country barely affected by WW II domestically. Multi generational households were the norm before then. Do people really want their parents and grandparents living with them today? And so many men complain about not getting sex now!
Good day to all! Love your video - "12 reasons why life is better when you're single"! - - - - really makes sense and a mind-opener to most men over 50 and struggles with their marriage! More power Mr J. Griffin, and we hope we hear MORE from you!
Women went to work (had to) in the 70s because America's best 20 years (Leave it to Beaver) after we basically rebuilt the world after bombing everything to rubble in WWII came to an end. Nixon taking us off the gold standard, the country was demoralized from the 20 years (1955 - 1975) we were in Vietnam (cost 1.2 Trillion in today's dollars). Inflation.....So yes, things went to shit, a lot of the old male guard were to blame by hiring all the hot asses to look at all day. Workplace became toxic. Divorce started skyrocketing. That was a pretty short time span. And yes, the culture changed, all planned by the elite rulers. The middle class is/was the "challenger" class, ...the elites hate the middle class. OLD MONEY GOES LEFT, they hate competition.
The undercurrents were there in the 50s (if not earlier), but with the introduction of The (rhymes with Bill) in 1960, Western society changed rapidly from that point. "Free love," drugs, uh-bor-shun on demand, radical phem-uh-nism, and skyrocketing divorce rates all in a span of about 15-20 years. Couple that with a rise in violent crimes, race riots, a struggling economy and the unpopularity of the Vietnam War, the 60s and 70s came with major changes to our society.
Thanks, I just edited out that little section at the end about artificial intelligence because I felt like it just went off the rails a little. I think I could’ve spoken on this topic for an hour. I try to keep these videos down to under 20 minutes. Thanks for your feedback.
I enjoy listening to you as I can tell you have given these topics a lot of thought. It amazes me how many guys are so simple and so easily diverted from things that truly matter. I guess it's the lack of critical thinking that is so apparent with all the normies in our modern society.

I 100% agree with what you are saying about the media. I now read the highlights of the news every day and no longer watch it. Also agree with basically everything else you are saying here (I was born in 1969). Thanks!
9-30-24 Florida Very interesting and relevant discussion. I'm a couple of years older than you, and can remember asking a girl I was friends with in first grade what she was wearing around her neck. It was a house key tied to a ribbon, and it was so she could let herself into the apartment she and her mother lived in. My friend was a latch key kid. The parents were either in the process of getting divorced/ we're divorced. It was sad and surprising to me because both my parents and my friend's parents were all still married. I think it was about that time ( 1969- early 70's) that I started to see more kids in that situation. Footnote: I'm from N.Virginia/ Fairfax County. I just watched one of your other videos, and the scenery reminds me of Rock Creek Park, or the area around Cabin John. I miss the DMV, and I hope with Fall approaching that you'll be able to capture the beautiful foliage in your videos.
I was born an only child in 1942. My father always had a day job, interrupted by WW II, went to college on GI Bill. and also worked as a musician six nights a week, so there were really two incomes. We were middle class, I always had great gifts at bds and xmas. We lived in apartments They sent me to 12 yrs Catholic school. I rode my bike around unsupervised after school and homework. Mom went to work for the county because she was smart and ambitious. As far as I knew, there was no savings, just life. I went to university on partial scholarship and student loans. I do not know if this was typical but it seemed normal.
Change is inevitable. It'll only continue at an even more rapid pace. Society won't end with depopulation due to lower birth rates, no one can truly know the future, all we can do is do our best in the present.
In a society where rights are constantly expanded by law, but personal responsibility is only regulated by staring up at the sky, it was only natural to conclude that relationships were going to collapse in on themselves.
The final message at the end is in a lot of alignment despite the boogeyman treatment in this country to contemporary socialist or at the very least social democratic values on market reform. I'm in strong agreement and it would be very advisible to collectively organize and pressure the legal bodies to pass laws to more heavily tax the corporate sector, enforce accountability in the government to make sure the resources are going where they need to, and that the labor that inevitably will be accomplished by automation is used to improve collective quality of life for the many and not the few. There are obvious obstacles in the way with the status quo that has been but regardless of politics the right and left extremism is identifying parts of a broader whole issue that has been building for a long time and is coasting based off of tradition, propagandizing, distraction, and immoral incentives which is reaching points that can no longer be ignored. I hope despite these obstacles we can begin to look past the tribalism of the past and begin through social media and organized collective action to begin a means of forming a compitent opposition that has been long absent in the market and political realms which are in dire need of enforced restructuring through democratized pressure.
Agreed. And I think that economic interests are at the center of many of these social changes that we see. The unintended outcomes are the ones that end up causing us so much trouble. There hasn't been enough of an incentive to create the opportunity for relationships and families that endure. Just my thoughts. Thanks!
Situationships with a woman or women in dating in 2024 is the new normal. Works good for a man who may already have children and been burned in a LTR or marriage in the past.

For me the issue is not women in the work force, but the fact that social norms and expectations have not gone along with the economic shift. At bottom it seems like a lot of women are progressive in the workplace but conservative when it comes to attraction. Even an accomplished business woman with a self-sustaining income will typically want to date a man who is at least as rich as her, otherwise she would be 'dating down'. The 'breadwinner complex' is still part of the female psyche even though it no longer serves a purpose.
It’s crazy, one of my favorite YT channels is an old French guy with his young wife building their own house and farming in Bohol Phillipines. It’s a simple and beautiful life.
I watch a RUclips channel called the Scottish Isles about a couple who decided to take on an old farm house and grow there own stuff and re put there farm house together bit by bit that's how life used to be why do I love it because thay both love each other and respect each other .and that's what's missing theses days in most people's relationships. Thay have been on this Scottish Island for a year now its nor been plain sailing but you look at the nature and think I would love a slice of that life style 😊😊
I'm not religious whatsoever, but this was great. Balanced and fair. I agree with everything you said. There's definitely been good over the years, but certainly a lot of fallout from past mistakes and policies. Blame game across the board.🙄 Republicans and Democrats constantly at each other's throats. Men and women ready to scream at each other over nothing. Simple gender politics. It doesn't need to be this way. We all need to relax and prioritize our passions and hobbies. Make life simpler and pleasant again. Taking care of global warming should be fun, like a community event. But it somehow became political.😂 Monogamous relationships something to be celebrated, not shunned as a "means of control". Women and colored individuals having equal rights is one of the greatest things to happen... yet look how we all handle it. Almost like the less and less problems we actually have, the more our self destructive nature strives to create. Atheist democrat here to all conservative christians reading: Hello. Hope you're staying well so far!😁❤
As a working woman in a third world country, I would have loved to stay home and take care of my children if I had a loving supportive husband. Working and taking care of the home was very tedious for me and the children suffer in the hands of maids just they cannot tell it.
You asked what changed. I think we can lay much of the blame politicians. They raised taxes to the point where working families had to have two incomes. Meanwhile, politicians bought votes by giving those tax dollars to those who had no motivation to work, who wouldn't take responsibility for themselves. there will always be a high supply of high school graduates but those who go on to learn a skill or trade will be in demand. I was able to make a good living right out of college. Now, I'm retired, living overseas in a traditional culture and married to a trad wife.
It's sad that good intentions often lead to disastrous outcomes, but that's what has happened since the 1960s. A lot of people are all to happy to become embittered, and then look to confirm their own biases by consuming more and more divisive and emotionally charged content. We all naturally have aggression and resentment, but these feelings aren't meant to be triggered constantly.
I think you’re exactly right. Unfortunately, when there is so much financial incentive to play on the darkest parts of humanity, We can take a bad situation and make it so much worse
I have found that incompetence and greed are usually the causes of issues like this. Normally, that greed is short-term, just to get their money and get out. It would take a serious mastermind with incredible patience to play a long game for 5 decades.
@@john-griffin - I agree with you that it's mostly incompetence, greed, and of course power hunger. Birth control seemed like a good idea, but I think it led to the sexual revolution, and the majority of women working outside the home. Good intentions have led to disastrous results. Social media and smart phones definitely haven't helped.
You have a very, very good point. However, cannot fully agree with the notion that change in workforce created this global shift. Women in other parts of the world (in particular Soviet Union since 1917 revolution and Germany during WW2) have been part of the workforce for a very long time and the divorce rates were low. I believe it is rather the rise of feminism and equal rights of men and women created the global change of family fabric that for all times were resting on perils of woman’s shoulders.
Don't forget also what changed is that Nixon ended the gold standard in 1971, which marked the end of a hard currency and the beginning of a de facto world wide fiat monetary standard. Now people take it for granted that (fiat) money loses purchasing power every year. You will have to work harder and more just to keep up with the pace of currency devaluation.
Contrary to popular belief, the traditional family unit is an outlier. For most of human history, the most powerful men enjoyed "relationships" with the highest number of women (and often, girls).
Most of Male Rights, I have watched only wants fairness, & not to be used. Automation cuts jobs & corp execs excessive bonuses have grown exponentially since the late 70’s.
#1 goal -- Children should wake up each morning in the home of their Father. Twice I managed to maintain that until each daughter was age 11. And half the time in my home for several years following that into high school. When women denigrate the role of the father, they undermine society. (Oh, and they have each chosen good men to marry who seem to be in love with them through many years. )

I know exactly what you’re saying. When I was younger, I long to live in Hawaii because I really enjoyed the beaches. I grew up there and wanted to return living there as an adult. As I’ve gotten older, I have really learned to appreciate the forest much more. The wildlife, the change of seasons and the Peacefulness are really quite therapeutic. The television is the best mind control tool ever invented...it was invented by the greatest generation that ever lived during WW2...first RCA television set came off the assembly line in 1946...end of WW2 was 1945‼️
It's not that women want to be 'free', that's the catch they use for those who don't understand. What they really want is to be able to exercise their hypergamy without consequence and they are succeeding more and more.
Love your videos John, maybe another couple of items to add to your melting pot. 1) After the financial crisis when governments around the world started QA, this mean that asset owners suddenly had more money, so had to invest it somewhere in order to keep paying their pensioners, this somewhere was real estate and stocks, so we saw an explosion in house prices, as well as business property prices. So now it is more expensive to buy a home or to run a business and we have inflation. 2) Social media has one aim which is to sell us stuff... in order to do that it must nudge us into action, the best way to do this is to convince you your life is sh!t without this bag or this car, or this iphone or this etc.... so until we ban social media everything will keep getting worse, there is no end game here.
But the problem is once women received more freedom to do more many realize they don't really want it the want what was once traditional but society has changed to the point of one income doesn't go as far as it once did so issues of trying to survive and struggle causes feelings of not being able to enjoy life simply this also is one of many reasons for divorce rates and people just not wanting to have a family etc
How do you discover a stream,, that people have been living around for thousands of years? I guess some people still believe that Columbus actually discovered America too lol. That’s sad. There are many of things in nature that are consistent. But nature,,, is also consistently diverse.
I would argue that everyone to one degree or another was oppressed and not just doing whatever they wanted. During the time women were relegated to being home makers and taking care of children men were relegated to staring at a mules ass all day long. Working his duck into the dirt just to keep everyone from starving to death.
That's exactly what the globalists want: An elite class, and a peasant class. The middle class stands in their way. That's why they want to destroy us. In their arrogance, they believe they know better how we should live. Rules for thee and not for me. That's their attitude.
It’s a shame, feminism has destroyed relationships and marriages. I’m a Gen X’r, from a traditional Italian family, and sadly, I think I was born too late…..women today, do not understand how to be wives, and men like me are great providers. Embracing being single is becoming more and more enjoyable!
Im blessed to have been born in 1979, the very last of Gen-X, which also puts me in a weird position because I have the mindset of successful men in their 50's-60's, but I am 45 and my views are too far out then the generation younger than me, so I am absolutely unable to connect with women my age or younger because to them I am a "Boomer," I don't believe in hook up culture or sleeping around and that is a losing strategy with modern women.
When I tell my kids what my childhood was like they look at me like I was a wild animal. Its the funniest thing. I think that kids need to get into a little more trouble these days! Thanks
Extremism and Media Make it Worse - It is the algorithm that's equally bad. Now with AI who knows what is true and what isn't. However weak minds that have no discernment fall trap to this stuff, and then social media allows them to find each other. Wake up and realize you are being manipulated. I watch one video on a subject and now I get 10K of them. However, I know I am in the algorithm, and I use my discernment to make sure I don't let myself get sucked into the rabbit hole. I also clear your viewing history once in a while too.
I think about media consumption in the same way I think about food consumption. There’s a lot of crappy stuff out there and you don’t want it all in your head or in your body. Unfortunately, most people don’t realize that in a free democracy were freedom of speech is in trained in our constitution people can say almost anything they want without having to provide any evidence that what they’re saying is true or valid in anyway at all. Most people are relatively trusting they just fall into this trap delusion that lead to anxiety, depression and frustration. The world turns dark very quickly. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Really like your channel. And loved your life story today. However, I don't think I agree with your inference that liberalisation of women was somehow a bad thing. In the past, women were trapped in unequal relationships (that may even have been abusive) but had no escape because they had no power in the relationship at all. If we go back far enough women couldn't even go into pubs on their own! So I am sure nobody would want to go back to that. But I do accept your argument that the norm of having two salaries in a household has probably depressed salaries to the benefit of large corporations and to the detriment of the ordinary working person. But this is just one of many factors that has resulted in an increasingly unequal society where the rich have got richer and the poor have got poorer. We are an increasingly unequal society and it is not a good thing. But I don't think we should put all the blame for this on women's rights nor think that going back to a situation of increased gender inequality would be a good thing.
It is a hard thing to figure out. Culturally, I think that gender equality was a good thing and I think that it had to happen. Unfortunately, it opened the opportunity to so many other changes that were unintended. I appreciate your thoughts on the issue. Thanks
Its not equality thats the problem. Its the attempt to rationalize equality regardless of the outcome between the sexes and the attempt to right the wrongs of the past to the point where we are just looking at whole collectives as the problem. Ie; due to the past, now to rectify it, men are always the problem.

Thanks!
That all started in the 1970s.... Massive illegal aliens from South America started in the 70s too
@@john-griffinThe 90’s UK govt (Blair, Socialist) trumpeted a “service” economy here whilst encouraging manufacturers outsourcing to China. That worked out well for the Corporate elite. The West is done for now. At this point we are only trying to lose more slowly.
There was always "massive immigration" going on.

@@frederickrapp5396 No, a housewife will benefit from divorce
Just where on Earth does this guy films his videos? So peaceful!

Very interesting and relevant discussion.
Yeah, my family just had a single income in the 1970s. We weren’t rich but we were average.

Those weren't good intentions; the elites designed and brought all this about. Destroy the family unit, control the sheeple.
Great insight! Thanks

Excellent points
But the problem is once women received more freedom to do more many realize they don't really want it the want what was once traditional but society has changed to the point of one income doesn't go as far as it once did so issues of trying to survive and struggle causes feelings of not being able to enjoy life simply this also is one of many reasons for divorce rates and people just not wanting to have a family etc

Born in 65 means Boomer. Gen X are 1967+.
From GPT
Generation X, often referred to as Gen X, is generally defined as the cohort of people born between 1965 and 1980. This generation follows the Baby Boomers and precedes the Millennials[1][2][3]. There is some variation in the exact years depending on different sources, but the most commonly accepted range is from 1965 to 1980[1][2][4].

I think globalization and lots of jobs leaving the country may have played a bigger role there too.
Please keep hiking on the rocks by the streams. The footsteps sounds didn't bother me and much more scenic.
Thanks, I know some people complain about the sounds. But I really enjoy them myself.

This talk kinda went off the rails. It was all over the place.
Thanks, I think you may be right. Perhaps too big a topic for 15 minutes? I
Really like your channel.
Ie; due to the past, now to rectify it, men are always the problem.
just have to learn how to grow veggie and fruit. Get some chickens and horse. There are too many people on earth anyway... they ain't doing anything anyway. The Earth needs to become more healthier. Too much pollution and glaciers are melting.

The internet Trad wives that mad womanists crazy, we’re not demanding anyone emulate their lives, they were happy with their lives. So, the argument of crazy is false. You should research better.
Women cannot be both married and free. Everyone sacrifices something in order to procreate and further the species. That’s like saying men should be free without having to go to war to fight for the freedoms we enjoy. Does not quite work like that 😂
bro your cool.....i embrace divorce and my girl is more reasonable to a degree
Thanks
