10:12 Karl's approach to spotify is the only way - I'm currently at 5000 songs on one playlist, 308 hours constantly on shuffle 😅 gojira is well worth the add
I met Romero, early this year. We took a side-hug picture and his hair is by far the softest most healthy I ever saw. The girls working the event didn't know who he was but the first thing they commented is that they want his hair care routine.
Sad you never got to see iron maiden live Karl. I just saw them a few weeks ago here in Brisbane as part of their current tour, it was awesome. Hopefully you can catch them sometime.
So I saw a comment about gojira coming to N Carolina while scrolling and thought, “oh, lovely a flood joke…” And now at 9:44 I’ve been reminded of a dope ass band while simultaneously wondering when this video was recorded 😅😢😢
I am so glad I never met one of those insufferable fans before I knew it wasn't 'Alex is on fire', as I'd have probably just told them to get a grip. Although, in Karl's story, that would have been prophetic for the guy with the pint!
I knew Romero had great hair from a very young age. Because if you clip through the demon wall on the last level of Doom 2, there is an easter egg sprite that acts as the "final boss" of the monster spawner that is John Romero's severed head on a spike. Which I knew because playing that game at the age of 5 or 6, I had to use cheat codes to beat it, and clip mode was an especially fun cheat with the 'hall of mirrors' effect..
Also, this topic gives me a kind of wistful feeling. Back in early high school, 04-05, I had very long hair. Which i finally cut short because I was tired of dealing with it. Now in my mid-30s, after living a very hard life and getting off a 10 year addiction to smoking heroin, I have a small bald patch starting. Still hasn't gotten bad enough to be noticeable really, but I know its coming, so now I have to start working out pretty heavy to get a physique where I can sport a shaved head.. But thats what I get for poking so much fun at my dad for his receding hairline over the years. Now I'M the old man losing his hair. So be kind, eat healthy, and stay off drugs kids. If you do, you'll thank me later. You can just mention it in chat over a death match in Doom 1 or 2 or OG Quake sometime lol ;) God, the late 90s, early 00s were such an amazing time. Early internet was such an unexplored frontier, full of potential and fantastic experiences before government and corporate enshitification..
I have shoulder length hair and have had long hair for about 20 years and it's a fucking thing. Luckily in my area it's lessened a lot in the last few years, got a lot of hippies in the pnw lol. I also wear a hat with my hair pulled back under the bill and that kind of hides it so I might be getting lucky
I've had long hair since I was a teen during my own emo phase. I have barely had a haircut since I turned adult. As a Bi-gender (non-binary) person, I have no intention of ever shaving my wonderful locks. I get so many compliments about it but very little complaints. Those who do complain about it can go suck a fat one, it's my hair and I'm proud of it. Edit: FYI: I'm 34 as of this post.
i dont know if it is just me, and i am open to the possibility because i have hearing loss and ADHD. But the editing on the doom music ( and the first 15 seconds of the usual music) were distractingly loud and i could hardly hear any speaking. love you karl and crew!
My hair looks like that when I straighten it. I live in Texas so, I get guys yelling at me to cut my hair... Their girlfriends probably mentioned how she loved it. I know this because women will occasionally stop me and gush over it. I care more what women think than the guys, who are also jealous, think about me.
And then theres John Carmack, the less famous creator of Doom, who also just for fun builds rockets, revolutionises the fields of programming and mathematics just to create better shadows in his games, judo master, built thermite as a youth to break into a computer lab, makes VR technology, but doesn't have the Romero Power-Mane so sadly isn't as well known
Im slightly hard of hearing and apologize but i could not hear over the music when played together, not a problem for everyone im sure so its not one that needs adjusted but it would help folk like me i think i appreciate your time :)

Also being named Eric and being more used to other names in the intro, I was startled by the notion of Karl talking to a far away me for a second.
My head cannon is that raiden could 100% run faster than the bike but he rides it anyways cuz he know how fucking sick he looks on it
Yknow what? He's right it's badass
I can confirm. He isn't playing rising right now
I'm so happy Karl's a fan of Symphony X. That was such a random thing for us to connect over.
To all the "firsts," no, you're not.
People are still doing that? That’s so early 2000’s 😂
@@phiend2248 tbh I think Karl or someone trolls the comments and deletes them cause there was one. But it's gone lol
@@phiend2248 yep. Any channel with 6 digit sub numbers seems to have them pretty reliably.
@@brohen that's fucking awesome.
Oh my god I love the dino bedsheets

God I missed this channel
I’m so glad this channel is doing stuff again
Honestly i can't blame anyone for asking how to achieve a luscious mane like John Romero's
exactly, it's a fair query

Recorded months ago.

In high-school I also had a metal mane. It was 3 feet long and was down to my butt. I used to have to braid it when going to concerts.
Damn, if Eric's in NC I hope he's ok.
I'm fine. I live in Richmond.
@@storyrant Happy to hear that sugar.
Aa someone who's had the honour of meeting the dude in person? Yes his hair is that awesome.
My first concert was actuallly a symphony x one. I was really there for haken but it was still cool
love your content. Hi from Florida!
I highly recommend people read or listen to the book 'Masters of Doom' it follows how they created Doom
Dehumanized solo is goated

As soon as I saw the title I immediately went “John Romero”. In all fairness he pulled it off graciously
Eric was glad Gojira is gonna be in North Carolina - he's okay, right?
In September. And I ended up not being able to go. 😢

I wonder if all people with Rock Star reps are potentially fated to crash
Didnt realize Karl is a metal head so this is fun lol!
I met John Romero in Blackpool in 2021, and yes his hair is still glorious

But now we need to see the Chris Hemsworth vid
Wow. What a tease

hope Karl knows of the mod for doom , brutal doom

Wow, that kind of hair care routine is why I just shave my head, It's so much easier for lazy folk like myself 😂
Doggo force!
Let's talk about Doom, yes .
monthly reminder to read/listen to Masters of DooM. Not you Karl I know you already have.
