I was able to get a strong signal one day at noon outside on my EP PRO from Dallas 820 WBAP 300 miles away. It can pick up New Orleans FM stations like locals 170 miles away. But everybody should have a couple of radios with NOAA Weather in areas threatened by storms. I shared this to a weather news group. I may get a couple of these as Christmas gifts.

Hej Todderbert thanks for the review and very nice Rysamton radio and Rysamton have some other radios which I am looking at and considering buying and yes this Rysamton radio reminds me of TIVDIO-115 but it comes now with the Retekess brand. Hello, Todderbert, as I must tell you that this Rysamton YK-M03 is a great little radio especially for the money! I am impressed by its sensitivity & selectivity both! Sound quality is good with its .05 watt 50 mm speaker! I believe that I will purchase the shortwave version! Thanks for the great videos on both the SW & WB versions indeed. I am buying the SW version as I end my comments here! Both of the Rysamton radios whichever you choose SW or WB pick up distant AM signals relatively well especially at night! While both models easily receive a GOOD to VERY GOOD Todderbert FM station RECEPTION RATING result as you indicated! Thank you, Todderbert, as I thoroughly enjoyed your video here in reference to both the SW/WB Rysamton radios!

I saw the Amazon Listing and I knew you would review this eventually
Meanwhile the CC Pocket made an awesome cameo which I am going to get my replacement radio in September after I renew my Amazon Prime because I miss the beeper on Alert Mode
Also I am loving my XHDATA D-219 the Shortwave is Amazing along with AM/FM

Love the video's! Thanks so much for your efforts. But, you review a ton of pocket radios....how about some medium and large size radios to keep things even?? I'm looking for a radio i can listen to out in the yard....where i can hear it more than 20 ft away. These smaller radios can't be heard very far away. There were a ton of these types of radios on the market in the 1980's but they have mostly disappeared from stores. Maybe i should just get some portable speakers and hook them up to my pocket radio??

Go Classic and get a GE Superadio. New radios such as Sangean make larger radios, just search todderbert sangean.

      @mozilla2576 Год назад

@@todderbertThose Sangean's have very small speakers.... 2.5inch if i remember correctly. Is the SuperRadio loud? I tried a CC radio with the 5'' speaker...it doesn't push much volume. Kind of disappointing.

Hey, somewhere I saw a pocket radio, just a basic AM/FM pocket type, but it took a a BL-5, as well as penlight batteries. I was interrupted and lost the page - I think eBay, and I haven’t seen it since.
Have you seen or gotten one of these❓[ I’d almost swear it looked like the old Sony style pocket radio cabinet- which has been used for tons of various radios.]

Great video Todderbert! I was intrigued by the FM transmitter you were using. I bought a really cool late 90s Panasonic Boombox last year for just 12€, which is amazing for listening to cds and the radio but doesn't have an aux in of any kind. I've been thinking about little FM transmitters but on Amazon etc I only seem to see ones for cars. How easy was it to get yours and how much did cost?

Got the shortwave one and all I can say is that when I put a set of batteries in it, they last forever. I keep it by my bed on an end table to reach over and check the time. Once again, the AM/FM/SW unit will last for months and months on a set of batteries. I wonder if the AM/FM/WB will?

It is pretty good at kicking out the jams, not much bass though Weather band tuner is great!

I own the SW version, find the AM and FM to be respectable. Not much of a fan of the SW band on the radio. What I can get on it, some crazy stuff. I would have much preferred a WB version instead. If it drops back into the $12 range, might pick one up. Right now, my Retekess PR15 serves as WB radio. The Retekess definitely worth the money. Thanks for review.

Between this and the shortwave version, which has the best AM and FM reception?

  • @irongron

I got one of these units a few weeks ago and out of the box it developed a number of faults over time. Firstly, after few hours it would lock up and pressing all the buttons would power it on, so to reset it, I would have to take the batteries out, let the caps discharge and put them back and update the time again etc.. Then the AM band became faulty, it would not tune or scan at all. So no AM band. Ditto for a reliable clock and alarm. Al I now have is a SW and FM radio that locks up after a few hours of non use and I have to take the batteries out to reset it. Using a plug in power adapter is even worse, it is so noisy it's useless. Any chance of re-reviewing yours to see if it developed the same faults ? I'd like to buy another one, but I am not sure if it is just my unit or a problem with all of them.

Showing the weather band reception would have been good but you did not do that.
I only want a radio for AM for talk, news & sports and the weather band for when I go out.
FM is pretty much useless as I do not listen to NPR, Spanish or religious stations.
And weather alerts and emergency broadcasts come on the AM band which is why having cars getting rid of AM is outrageous.
Our entire emergency broadcast system is based on using AM radio.
