I am worried not many people want to take this job unless we throw $$ at them or it’s a big promotion. Either way, it’s going to be someone who doesn’t really necessarily want to be here. I think we should equally consider their fit in a big market like NY.
He’s killing it this year! There’s other guys I like more but he’s doing an awesome job this season. Thanks a ton for the super brother. Means a lot!!💪🏻💪🏻
Good video. I would love John Dorsey as president of football ops to act as a buffer between the Johnsons and the GM/coaches. A guy with the track record to demand respect. Some guys I'd be interested in are: 1. John Spytek, asst. GM Bucs. If Greenberg is the finance guy, Spytek is the talent evaluation guy. Hell, I'd try to get both as a bundled package if possible. 2. Will McClay, VP of Player Personnel , Cowboys - basically the real Cowboys GM but without the title, you can say a lot about the Cowboys but being bad drafters isn't one of them. maybe he gets tired of living under Jerry's thumb. 3. Trey Brown, Senior Personnel Executive, Bengals - the Bengals personnel dept. is so small, you can fit all of them in an Uber XL. Those guys take on multiple roles and do them well with limited resources. Now imagine a guy who's basically done the job of 2 to 3 ppl for years but with some Johnson & Johnson money behind him and a well sized personnel group.
The problem with hiring an asst GM is you never know how much of their input went into building their current team. Like Agnew sounds great but who knows. Getting the right GM is everything. They need to finally find a good GM. I wouldn’t mind Dorsey - he is proven unlike the asst GM’s
I’m looking towards Detroit Lions that makes the most sense getting a team that hasn’t been good to turn to contenders I think that’s what we need , or you can go Kansas City GM
The problem i see with the jets is woody johnson. What good gm &/or a potentially good coach would want to come here if woody is going to meddle with decisions? The only way this team can turn it around in the future is if woody hires someone to "run" the team and stay out of the football decisions and let them do the job they got hired to do. If not, itll be the same ol jets.
@ yes he is I agree and on woody that’s my point he is out across the pond playing ambassador and letting his brother who’s as dumb as he is or worse run things. You don’t see anything wrong with that? You’re gonna tell me woody is a good owner?
Ian, in a perfect world, any of those guys look good, BUT I'm not certain that either Woody or Christopher will pay these guys, and also I'm not certain any of these gusy will want to come here, even if they are offered the right money. That all being said, I like the idea of either the Buffalo guy or the KC guy, to try for sustainability once at the top of the division.
I had a friend years ago who was smart when it came to the Jets, he would check on them at mid-season and if they had a losing record he wouldn't check on them again until the last game of the season. Nobody should subject themselves to this team every single week, it's too stressful.
A list of candidates that might be good is fine. The more pertinent question would likely be; which possible candidates would be interested in a less than ideal situation and actually join the Jets. Do you think anyone on this list or in addition to this list, would actually join the Jets. Would anyone that has other opportunities, see the Jets as the best destination?
Mike Borganzi, 16 years with single team. He knows the job. He sounds like he could be another JD. Ed Dodds. Don't know if he would be a good fit. The only good thing is Woody Johnson may not be around day to day. Very true. No matter who you hire is risky. Agnew has been a popular name floating around. Mike Greenberg looks like he could be the guy. Not a household name. How would Greenberg get along with ownership? Would ownership come in and take over? Dorsey sounds interesting too. Would he be a short term guy? He is 64. Several of these candidates sound good, but, would any of them want the Jets job?
It doesn't matter who we bring in. Joe Douglas has a resume that includes 3 superbowls scouting and being an executive for the Ravens and Eagles. The Jets are just cursed. Everyone agrees the Jets are full of talent. They just aren't a team, and Woody sticking in his nose where it doesn't belong doesn't help.
To be honest, I think the most Jets thing to do would be to hire Joy Behar from The View as the new GM. Yeah, I'm a horrible person for even joking about that, but that's okay. 😛 I think that, if Woody is going to be overseas and if Chris doesn't have Woody's full confidence yet, the best thing Woody could do for the Jets is hire an elder statesman like Dorsey as GM and give him full control. Dorsey has done almost every big NFL team office job there is, and he could easily stabilize the Jets and rebuild a structure to allow for good improvement for the team. Dorsey could then bring in and develop a younger prodigy to be his assistant GM and eventual replacement for when Dorsey retires.
Love Agnew pick but for sure look no further than Ben Johnson over Glenn. Johnson is going to be pursued heavily for a reason jets should be doing everything to give him what he wants. If you’re willing to give Aaron Rodgers control why not Ben Johnson who can make this franchise serious for years
I don't think Mr. Woody wants someone autonomous in the GM job...He wants someone who gives the owner what he wants. If there is any argument, Woody wins!
Our next GM will not matter if the right coaching staff is not brought in. We simply cant have another coaching staff like we have had since Rex was fired. We have not had an identity this entire time. This entire thing will hinge completely on the coaching staff brought in. I am very worried about that. Our current players are simply just undisciplined and never ready. We may need to let go of some of our talent to turn this thing around.
If you ask most Bills fans, they will say Terry Pegula is not a good owner. He got lucky and made two great hires in Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott and he’s smart enough to let them do their thing and just sign the checks. He also owns the hockey team, the Buffalo Sabres, and if you ask those fans they all hate him. His finger prints are all over that team and they’re one of the worst ran teams in sports. Their playoff drought is the exact same length as ours. Honestly they are the NY Jets of the NHL
I like JD, and I wouldn’t be against bringing him back.. but a huge part of me feels like we need a full out culture change. Fresh starts for all seems the way to go. Also.. I like Glenn as a possible head coach.. but man, it would be nice to get an offensive mind in there.
i don’t know if u can even trust a kind of gm that is available and willing to take this kind of job for this franchise . we have a lot of talent and have had top 5 defenses in 3 years . i say the best bet is to look for any kind of rekindling of old relationships the jets franchise has wit former coaches . keep joe douglas there (take the high pick and trade down build out depth), give arod, vante, breece, and garrett one more season . try to higher pete carroll for president of football ops, see if jeff has taken this interim hc job as a nod to him being willing to wait n learn more as our DC, hire rex ryan as our hc and head of the snake for culture, and the biggest question is OC and frankly if aaron can maintain any ego he might have and mike mccarthy can as well . i would hire mccarthy for the OC job. let them bump heads as it relates to the success of the offense . you hope pete carroll can be a mediator and rex can be a strong armed tough minded guy. let jeff get this defense back to what it was and convince these guys to buy in for one more year . i believe these players want to win here. they’ve seen 2-7, 6-3, and 3-7 again. they have put they blood sweat and tears into this team . if u can encourage and inspire them with experienced winning staff . that’s the best bet for the next year. and most importantly! i like jordan travis and if this thing caves and jordan travis doesn’t get his chance i think we will lose a chance to see a possible kyler murray type long term qb solution to be the successor . even if they reup for one more year wit arod and move some staff around and can get to even the second round or afc championship and lose to a team like the chiefs it will set this franchise up much better than blowing this shit up rn . we see that the first mistake the jets made was being impulsive by firing sales and just making matters worse . i think the jets need to learn to make calculated choices . because i genuinely think depending on how this season ends and how the franchise responds . the jets franchise genuinely may never win again . ya cant tell me if u out arod davante breece and garrett on the 49ers they wouldn’t win it all! so who acquired that talent??? guys seriously . just think about it .
This might be unpopular but, they should stick with JD. This team needs some sort of continuity. Every 3 years is complete purge. Starting from scratch veering into the unknown since like forever is horrible. I would like for the owner to want to keep JD and JD respond with only if he’s in total control of football operations. Just my opinion.
So are we to assume JD is finished? Seems a little premature without knowing for sure. And no way to not see this as a negative without knowing weather they will release him or weather he refuses to resign, which if he is gone seems most likely. Why be a GM if the owner is just gonna step in and take over. Can’t operate like that.
When was it great? We beat a terrible patriot side, got lucky against titans and played 2 good quarters against the texans 😂 no fan in their right mind thought this season was going great 😂
It’s interesting that bad coaching can make a decent GM record look worse than it is. Yes just like any other GM they have their misses. I’m not denying he hasn’t made some very poor decisions. But he also found ways to bring young talent and even vetserans like Aaron Rodgers and Devante Adams to try to make our team into contenders. We as a fanbase never in our wildest dreams thought that the Jets Arod and D. Adam’s would be mentioned in the same sentence. Robert Saleh did amazing on the defensive side but overall as a coach as for accountability, game management, and of course anything on the offensive side etc etc wasn’t just not clicking. lol let’s not forget we all knew or least had the thought he wasn’t the coach by year 3. We hung onto this guy for way too long. Aaron Rodgers acl injury saved this man for another excuse to fire him. And for those who keep regretting for letting Saleh go soon now that we’re 3-7. Yes it was a gamble to do that but with the hype about Ulbrich being a coach candidate for 2025, what else we had when we were 2-3. We know now ulbrich is also not the guy. Can u imagine if we held onto salah by the end of the year like some of you guys are thinking now. And give the job to ulbrich next year lol we would be back at it again screaming hell all over again. Some guys are just good where they are, great coordinators but not head coaching. We need someone with more experience and proven track record as head coach. No newbies hast worked out (gase, Bowles, and now Saleh) since Rex.
Wonder if Douglas had signed Baker Mayfield ( who you could have bought low on) and have had Andy Dalton backing him up retained draft picks…Joe D too long with Zach Saleh star chasing A Rod signing damaged former stars hoping for bounce back need a GM w different mindset imho

at this moment in time, i'm desperate....... if it were me my first call would be to the "Great Wizard" Ozzie Newsome, i'd want to see if he wants back in..... even if he doesn't want to be a GM again, at least maybe he could be a Consultant/ Advisor or Team President. Whatever capacity i can get him at, he's definitely my first call..... or he might be able to just point me in the right direction to the next GM...
Really feel sorry for JD. I feel Woody screwed this man and messed up our rebuild. The man clearly doesn’t want to be here. Me personally, I think everyone needs a fresh start. I would like John Dorsey for President. Ray Agnew as GM. And Aaron Glenn for our HC. If Woody can stay out the way, we will find success!
Douglas emitted vibes of total defeat when a few days ago he was asked by a reporter about his future with the NY Jets and he responded by saying "whatever happens, happens." He just sounded completely exhausted.
JD got neutered by the clown owner, Woody Johnson deciding the firing of Saleh and the signing of Reddick (Who has done 💩since joining the team!) So I think JD doesn't care about being GM of getting fired from this team anymore!
@@jaybird8192 good riddance to the clown GM then. 30-63 pathetic record for GM and all his "talent" he drafted arent even that good. Only Garrett Wilson the rest are mid players who got overrated.
I'm sorry but everyone has to go. If the owner would sell the team id be a start but that's probably not going to happen. A new head of football operations is needed.
You are what your record says you are. GM is not only about drafting players. Where Doulas fails miserably is not knowing what his team is. One year, we had no WR depth, next year Jets have no, backup QB, next year, no O-Line depth, next year Jets have no D-Line depth...Not to mention coaching selections.
The coaching is more important than the GM. But the GM is essential. He got the coach wrong, and that's the reason why our team hasn't won more games. Our expectations are because he's done a good job increasing the talent of the roster. The record is due to horrible coaching. Which teams we lost to have better rosters than ours?
the talent is completely overrated. This was never a good football team built by GM Joe Douglas. He built a terrible roster and they are showing you every week how bad they are. Its not coaching its a complete lack of talent.....the media fake hyped all these players the only actual great player is Garrett Wilson. Sauce Gardner and Breece Hall are mediocre players. Sauce has been awful this season one of the worst performers on the team.
@Alex-kk3ny I have an Elijah Moore Jersey in my closet. That's Joe Douglas choosing (drafting) a player who shows promise in his rookie year. Only to have to move on from him due to regression. That's ditto for Becton, Mims, etc.

I am worried not many people want to take this job unless we throw $$ at them or it’s a big promotion. Either way, it’s going to be someone who doesn’t really necessarily want to be here. I think we should equally consider their fit in a big market like NY.
Thanks! Ian what do you think of Jake retzlaff? I hope the jets draft another qb. Especially after what happened with Zach wilson
Some guys I'd be interested in are:
I have been waiting for this video 😂
Depends on who wants to work with Woody/Chris. Their reputation goes before them and the fact JD has largely sidelined says it all to contenders
The problem with hiring an asst GM is you never know how much of their input went into building their current team. Like Agnew sounds great but who knows. Getting the right GM is everything. They need to finally find a good GM. I wouldn’t mind Dorsey - he is proven unlike the asst GM’s
I cant believe we are at this point this early in the season... YET AGAIN!
If you've ever heard the song from Lamb chops 🎶 This is the song that doesn't end yes it goes on & on my friends 🎶 🥴😪
Problem is yeah quick turnaround is great when you don’t have an owner like woody
Woody wasnt even here for a lot of Joe Douglas tenure. Douglas is a terrible GM.
@ yes he is I agree and on woody that’s my point he is out across the pond playing ambassador and letting his brother who’s as dumb as he is or worse run things. You don’t see anything wrong with that? You’re gonna tell me woody is a good owner?
Joe needs to go today, get the new person in now so they can kick back access who's staying and who's going.
Brett Veach is really the one who drafted Pat Mahomes if we are being honest. Dorsey just signed off on it.
Bears fired OC
Do it now so they can get used to this team and a running start for next year..anyone on the Chiefs or 49’s including the water boy
Agnew! then we might have a chance to get Ben Johnson...
Saleh for GM!!
Lance newmark did a great job with the lions, and seems to be doing the same with the commanders. Tear it down and rebuild with him.
I think that, if Woody is going to be overseas and if Chris doesn't have Woody's full confidence yet, the best thing Woody could do for the Jets is hire an elder statesman like Dorsey as GM and give him full control.
We have such great talent, but just being wasted due to no management and coaching, we need to change everything upstairs.
Kinda like what Kdude is thinking?
Sadly it will be hard to get the guys we want coaching this team if Rodgers is still here
I would definitely ask Eric Mangini.... Maybe not a great coach but definitely a great evaluator of talent
No we need to stop going to the past
@@Hellomelo15 trying to go to the future has only made things worse. Better to go back to the past when they at least made playoffs and had a chance.
I thought I would never say this but I should stayed in college. In high school my dream was to become a GM for the NYJ
Not even kidding when I say this I’d rather you run the team than any of these guys JC you’re knowledgeable and care lol
I like JD, and I wouldn’t be against bringing him back.. but a huge part of me feels like we need a full out culture change. Fresh starts for all seems the way to go. Also.. I like Glenn as a possible head coach.. but man, it would be nice to get an offensive mind in there.
What the hell do u like about him
He built this mess
i don’t know if u can even trust a kind of gm that is available and willing to take this kind of job for this franchise . we have a lot of talent and have had top 5 defenses in 3 years . i say the best bet is to look for any kind of rekindling of old relationships the jets franchise has wit former coaches . keep joe douglas there (take the high pick and trade down build out depth), give arod, vante, breece, and garrett one more season . try to higher pete carroll for president of football ops, see if jeff has taken this interim hc job as a nod to him being willing to wait n learn more as our DC, hire rex ryan as our hc and head of the snake for culture, and the biggest question is OC and frankly if aaron can maintain any ego he might have and mike mccarthy can as well . i would hire mccarthy for the OC job. let them bump heads as it relates to the success of the offense . you hope pete carroll can be a mediator and rex can be a strong armed tough minded guy. let jeff get this defense back to what it was and convince these guys to buy in for one more year . i believe these players want to win here. they’ve seen 2-7, 6-3, and 3-7 again. they have put they blood sweat and tears into this team . if u can encourage and inspire them with experienced winning staff . that’s the best bet for the next year. and most importantly! i like jordan travis and if this thing caves and jordan travis doesn’t get his chance i think we will lose a chance to see a possible kyler murray type long term qb solution to be the successor . even if they reup for one more year wit arod and move some staff around and can get to even the second round or afc championship and lose to a team like the chiefs it will set this franchise up much better than blowing this shit up rn . we see that the first mistake the jets made was being impulsive by firing sales and just making matters worse . i think the jets need to learn to make calculated choices . because i genuinely think depending on how this season ends and how the franchise responds . the jets franchise genuinely may never win again . ya cant tell me if u out arod davante breece and garrett on the 49ers they wouldn’t win it all! so who acquired that talent??? guys seriously . just think about it .
This team has a lot of talent it's the Aaron Rodgers experiment and horrible coaching stopping the team from reaching their potential.
The jets need a football guy at gm like San Fran, we had a cap genius in the past and it did'nt end well
Let me be coach i will tell sauce straight up in a game tackle like you tweet
2 weeks ago EVERYTHING was great. !@#$ the media.
A lot of teams have struggled including the KC CHIEFS the difference the close games they found a way to win we found a way to lose
Ian... 😮💨 You live in Tampa, FL just become a Bucaneers fan. Why are you doing this to yourself? We'll forgive you, dude, we understand. Don't do this to yourself. Choose happiness over this torture you see us going thru. At least one person makes it out. I'll be happy. Please Ian 😔
at this moment in time, i'm desperate....... if it were me my first call would be to the "Great Wizard" Ozzie Newsome, i'd want to see if he wants back in..... even if he doesn't want to be a GM again, at least maybe he could be a Consultant/ Advisor or Team President.
If Woody can stay out the way, we will find success!
they don’t need a new gm ,,, they need a coach .. REX RYAN would come in fix the defense install a ground game and physicality. keep rodgers
Who would you take from the list and in what priority order?
Borganzi Dorsey Agnew I think are my top 3
I'm sorry but everyone has to go. If the owner would sell the team id be a start but that's probably not going to happen. A new head of football operations is needed.
You are what your record says you are. GM is not only about drafting players.
Where Doulas fails miserably is not knowing what his team is. One year, we had no WR depth, next year Jets have no, backup QB, next year, no O-Line depth, next year Jets have no D-Line depth...Not to mention coaching selections.
Would he take over this year or next year 🩷💛🩵
The coaching is more important than the GM.
@Alex-kk3ny They all regressed. Regression is on coaching. We consistently see player regression. That is coaching.
@Alex-kk3ny I have an Elijah Moore Jersey in my closet. That's Joe Douglas choosing (drafting) a player who shows promise in his rookie year. Only to have to move on from him due to regression. That's ditto for Becton, Mims, etc.
Unpopular opinion: I would keep JD.
insanity
JD is a garbage GM. He never built the O-Line and that can't be blamed on injuries. Becton was 370 pounds, so it's obvious he was going to be an injury plagued player. He swung and missed on the O-Line, on his head coaching selection, on his young QB selection. Sauce Gardner is overrated he cant tackle or make an INT. Breece Hall is a standard good running back but nothing special. He never breaks any tackles or moves the pile.
Even the *great* 2022 draft from JD was just a solid B+ in retrospect.
The one amazing pick he made was Garrett Wilson I'll give him credit for that was an A+ selection.
Joe Douglas also ripped apart a brilliant defensive line this offseason and completely ruined the Jets defense.
You can't even credit him for building a good defense anymore because it was obviously dumb luck since he tore it apart in one offseason. He didn't even understand *why* the defense was good lmaooo.....Huff and JFM were integral and the replacements he chose are substandard and constantly lose in the trenches.
All around grade of F for this abomination of a GM who has a deplorable record of 30-63 in his 5+ years tenure. And that record is inflated because the roster he inherited from Maccagnan went 7-9 which was JD best season.
I thought you were going to say Marvin Lewis.
Ian Cunningham or Alec Halaby
@@rohithgudati7696 I’ve heard great things about Halaby!
