This bicycle contraption saves a lot of space. When you can put bikes on top of eacho ther, you can park twice the amount of bikes in the same square meters.

Nowadays you see more and more elderly people who buy an e-bike wearing a bicycle helmet. They buy an e-bike and the dealer immediately sells them a helmet. I regularly came across a couple with helmets on, but after a while I saw them cycling without a helmet. I think that a bicycle helmet offers false security. In addition, when people wear a helmet, we often know that they are tourists. And then we have to watch out, because tourists often do crazy things on their bikes. They do not know the rules.

    The helmet thing :
    Before the '60-ies
No one in the world wore helmets.
In the Netherlands it just was never even introduced !
    I can tell you that
apart from English, only one in a hundred is able to understand let alone speak French.
If you haven't learned German in school, also German is not being spoken a lot.
In that case they immediately change into English....

Totally depends where in the Netherlands you are, and from which generation the Dutch person is. The older generations speak more French and German, and German is spoken a lot in the East of the country. In the Randstad many people only really speak Dutch and English.

Dutch have helmets for people that do sport like mountainbiking or racing, or if you’re a elderly person and need more protection because of that. But for normal biking it’s just ridiculous
