- This is a 1939 design by Charles MacGregor, originally published in The Rudder Magazine as an example of what could be done with a novel new material called "plywood."
The Cocktail Class Wooden Boat Racing Association has revived the old design and has built up the class as a forum for safe, inexpensive racing. More info: www.clcboats.c...
Chesapeake Light Craft's kit features precise CNC-cut slot-together parts for quick and accurate assembly of a hull that will "measure in" on race day. Add various steering and throttle options and you're racing. Are there cheaper ways to have a good time on the water? I'm sure, but step into a Cocktail Class Racer and you won't stop grinning for days.
Jus saw this . Love to see craftsmen doing what they love.
Very nice! In the mid 50"s my Uncle raced similar boats. The wood and craftsmanship was beautiful. Him and my Dad bought the boats somewhere in Oklahoma and applied the finish themselves.
I so wish there was a class near me..
Im hour and half south/east of Kansas City Missouri..
Bet their d be lotta people in the Truman lake area that woukd be interested in building one.
that music took me somewhere...could be the epoxy fumes
Want to build one but I'm 230 lbs. I'm assuming the 250lb max payload includes motor/fuel etc?
love it
Looks like it would be heavy for real racing with all that glass work. Nice job though
Is there a pdf of the construction document in the video ? I would love to have it please
You can purchase a PDF download of the manual here: www.clcboats.com/shop/boats/powerboats/cocktail-class-racer.html
Thanks for this video man. I'm planning to build a jet ski using a pump boat marine engine. I have an idea what to do.

Be honest what's the weight of it wen done
It's 85lbs not including engine and fuel, which is the class minimum weight.
