I owned a 1994 Eddie Bauer sport back in 1998 I bought it with 45,000 miles on it the engine blew at 67,000 LOL but I’ll always love that truck because it was my first car

4.0 OHV (Which this explorer has) 1991-2000
4.0 SOHC 1997-2011 (this engine is the only one that had timing chain issues)

the first gen 4.0 1990--94 ranger got the 4.0 first and the problems they had where weak oil pump Bad casting in the heads and None stainless steel valves or guides Plus bad rockers arms and cast fordage rods the rod where casted the new ones are stainless steel with a press in ball at eather end

Believe it or not the very first time i have heard of and seen a ford explorer was from the original 1993 movie Jurassic Park. Ever since then I fell in love with the explorers of this timeframe, 1991 to 1994

The original alloy wheels and the original rear bumper have been changed. There's no shelf to put a 2" ball hitch on this Eddie Bauer edition. Also, I think the paint job is TOO dark to be the original 'teal blue/green'. or Cayman blue or whatever it was called. The Ford originally came with Firestone tires; these BF Goodrich tires have been installed backwards, why? I have this car. 185k miles

Those wheels were an option, the tires can be installed with the white lettering out or in. My neighbor had this car until about a month ago when it was totaled. The color of this one matches it perfectly. Theirs was garage kept and had 90k. As far as the bumper goes, not all of the explorers had the shelf for the hitch, that was an extra option on the 1st gens.
