What Cam left out is most the time it’s a House call. So the barber goes to you for a set price you agreed on before he goes over there. I always tell my clients in $30 or $40 at the shop or if they ever want a house call it’s $100 for me to go to you and most the time it’s after business hours. So I always just say it’s just cheaper to do it at the shop because people always get offended by my house call prices. It’s just business, but for me to drive 20 or 30 min to you with the time and gas over there and back and it takes longer to do house calls without a barber chair or proper lighting and here in Texas it’s hot and not a lot people have AC. That’s why I always just say off the person asking price and get offended by it and say it cheaper here at shop. Set an appointment and pay 30-40 with a guaranteed time slot during business hours. I can see both sides but as a barber who try’s to be reasonable I’m not gonna do a house call for no less than $100. 💯😂💈 Shout out to them Real reasonable blue collar barbers 💈
1000% correct…. Plus, I'm not about barbers taking 1hr+ to cut my shit because you want to dab up everyone who walks in and take a million pics for your IG. GTFO, I stopped getting fades and changed my style because if y’all and honestly better off so thank you 👋🏽✌️🏽😮
I do understand where Cam is coming from. The barber I used to go to just got too ridiculous with his prices and I found somebody for half the price. If I go back to my hometown I can get a cut and beard trim for 20 bucks
Oh you ain't lying barbers are out of control. And my father was a barber. I just booked me an appointment for tomorrow to get my haircut in my beard and with everything it's 55.😅 But I'm very particular about who cut my hair and the guy who used to cut my hair just up and vanished. And I got some things going on this week so I got the blue shark. But yeah you're right these haircuts went out of control .
When I was coming up, haircuts at the most was like $15 or $20 but now it’s like $40 and up depending on who u go to. I pay $40 but I only go like once a month if that these days but Barbers always come clutch when u need to look fresh for a week or two 😂
I don’t understand tipping a barber I never have and never will you set your own price I’m paying 50 for the same exact hair cut was 20-35 bucks years ago lol
Smart move because I remember when I went to Houston and got a fade he had my head bleeding and pushed my hairline back this was like 6 years ago and then he had the kahunas to give me his business card
As an NFL player getting house calls getting charged 150 is really standard price. Including them getting video promo of you. That’s what most barbers charge for house calls anyway.
Tbh he is cutting him a deal. 150$ to pack up all his stuff, drive all the way to his house which im guessing was far (Cam said 2-3hours to take care of him). Then to unpack all of his stuff and set it up to do his line up. Then pack it up again. Drive all the way back to his shop and unpack his stuff all over again. That barber even at 25$ a cut (He probably charges a lot more if he is good) coulda made more than 150$ at his shop in those 3 hours he took to do all that. I would charge him more than 150$ if he lives far personally. Cause for me its more than 150$ im losing out on and gas money, and i have to upcharge for the convenience of me going to your home and packing all my stuff up (which is usually a good amount of things plus a light stand at least even for a line up). Yeah im probably charging him 300-350$ if he lives far ngl. And it has nothing to do with him being a celebrity its all about time and the convenience factor otherwise cam can drive his ass to my shop and ill charge him regular price for a line up.
@@Mike-hy8cs Pack yoru stuff up you act like you have a tool box. lol. A brush, a razor, some clipers, etc takes 10 mins to pack up c'mon now. But the gas I get.
@Rashaadthegr8 im a barber myself we take a mobile backpack or a barber case that holds a bunch of stuff. Ring light, clippers usually more than one just in case, trimmers more than one just in case, clipper guards, hair clips to hold hair up if needed, razors and razor holder, disinfectant for our tools, barber cape, neck strips, combs, brushes, water bottle, electric shaver, hair products like gel, pomade, curling creams, after shave, etc. A blow dryer if needed. And before you say you dont need all that or im exaggerating you have to take a majority of this stuff because you never know what you are going to need. He might say oh just for a line up. But when you get there they might be like oh can you taper out my sideburns or taper my hairline down also. Hey can you trim my beard or mustache down? Hey im going to an event can you style my hair for me? Hey i know my hairs all over the place i just woke up sorry you gonna have to lay my hair down. This happens a lot especially for house calls.
@@Mike-hy8cs you don't need lights to cut hair. That's just something that started 10 years ago at the max. If you pay the light bill in the shop and cut in the daytime t's plenty light you need.
@Rashaadthegr8 We talking about a house call here. We aint at the shop. Im at your house which most peoples houses where they want you to cut their hair at is dim lighting. I cant see all the details i need to see in dim or dark lighting. If you charging a lot for a house call people expect a spotless haircut. Which means hell yeah im bring a light.
@lancerussell755 Not really. Its supply and demand. If i raise gas 3$ everywhere in your state. You have no choice but to take that unless you plan on taking the bus or walking. If i raise grocery prices what are you gonna do not eat? If rent goes up and other people are also raising their rent rates.. See where im going? Haircuts is different you can always find someone to do it cheaper but theres a lot of things going up that you have no choice or control over. And a barber needs to make enough money to pay their bills also. Them in a sweat shop charging 15$ a cut isnt going to cut it.
@@Mike-hy8cs Ok, most americans are chasing a luxury lifestyle, not bare minimum. Most ppl driving are going nowhere, to shop at a mall, you can walk there, but we wont, cause most want ppl to see them in their new fancy truck that they spent 10k over sticker so people know they got it like that. Most people eat luxurious/overeat and fat, if they raise prices, eat less more affordability, that would cut sales, which would cut revenue, causing them to reduce prices.. Most people who own homes, are child free boomers in 5 bedroom homes, they overpaid for rising the prices for us all.. And we accept it cause ppl lower is having a harder time. Yes, everything is more expensive because WE make everything expensive because racism, sexism is dead for the most part, but classism is as strong as it always was and will be.
@lancerussell755 its convenience. There are americans who chase a luxury lifestyle. But not everyone does that. Most americans are middle class citizens who have multiple kids they take care of. They dont have jobs that can afford all those kids or that lifestyle. So they do what they can and live paycheck to paycheck. You cant just walk everywhere and taking the bus is an option but its very inconvenient because buses are not always on time, you have to walk to a bus stop and it takes longer and you may have to take multiple buses to get to where you want to go. Food has gone up everywhere. Houses and apartments are more expensive every few years. So no matter what people have to make more money in order to afford these things. You could try to find a cheaper home sure. But guess what its still going to be expensive especially if you have kids. And legally you cant have 5-7 people living in a 2 bedroom apartment so thats a no go.
Yep. Old barber retired now I'm paying $40 for a haircut and I'm done with new guy cause I gotta tell him to fix my line everytime and he nicking me up. Last time I got cut up bruh was really about to send me outside with my line looking like Fab's chipped tooth, said to myself yea we done.
started cutting my own for the same damn reason. last one I paid for was $30 plus tip its been 15-16 years now cutting my own and looked around at prices and they starting 50 for a basic mens cut and goes up from there plus tip. Fuck that noise. I only ever get a buzz cut I can do that shit on my own I was going mostly to support local business but not more.
Barber went from $25-$40 in the span of 5 years. Crazy part is, which idk if a lot of people think about. Your hair gona grow back crazy anyway, so why put so much time and effort into keeping it up? Now I got a barber that charges $22 for the same shit
I pay $40 for a full service which includes haircut/lineup, beard and mustache, razor line and hot towel treatment after. That’s understandable to me because of what you get but seeing barbers charge over $60 is ridiculous if it’s not including any other services
I charge 60$ just for a haircut. Not because the haircut is worth 60$. But because my time is worth 60$ for that time slot. Its all just supply and demand. If you have a barber trying to charge you 60, 70, 80$ and he aint got any clients then you know he ripping you off. Im charging 60$ cause i raised my price over years and years of grinding and I would get so booked that people had a hard time booking with me. So to free up my schedule a bit i raised my prices each time by like 5$. I started at 25$. Now im at 60$ and my schedule is 80% booked. That tells me im at the right price range. Its all simple supply and demand. Its not about the amount of services
@@Mike-hy8csThat’s understandable because you’ve started at the low end and worked your way up and figured out what works best for you and your time. I also understand supplies / clippers ,chemicals can get expensive. You are right that it depends on supply n demand. I live in ATL where I’ve ran into a couple people who are charging $70 plus but are not good at what they do or have little to no clientele so that’s why I say I’m cool in that. There’s nothing wrong with knowing your worth but I personally feel as if I’m going to be paying a $50 plus for a cut, I would like to get other services with that, everyone doesn’t work that way but that’s what I feel. Everyone gotta do what’s best and what feels right for them at the end of the day
@TheMessengerMDH Right and you have a right to go with whoever you want to go with or whereever you want to go. There are definitely barbers out there for 50$ that will throw more services in there for you. You just gotta look around. When i first started out i was doing hair for 25$ beard 10$ and then i had facial masks for an additional 10 and eyebrows for 5. Thats how i got to 50 if someone wanted all that. Nothing wrong with it at all
@trevey16 Right but us as barbers dont determine that the market does. I could raise my prices to 100 tomorrow but Id lose a lot of my clientele. Some might stay and be happy to pay it but does that mean im worth 100$ a cut now? No. Because I would be making less money than when i charged 60. People can put a price on anything. Doesnt mean its worth that much. I could say this particular glass of lemonade is 100$. Is anyone going to buy it? Maybe one or two super rich people might try it just to say they did but they know they can get lemonade from the grocery store for 5bucks. What is it really worth? 100$ or 5$? Well if you have a line of people waiting to buy your lemonade for 100$ a pop then its worth that much. Cause you have enough customers to justify it.

I was cutting my hair since 2013. Started to head back to the barbershop this year and I am slowly regretting it.
That’s real money right there.
😂😂😂😂 wit the brush 350$$ lol
That’s crazy, cause Houston got some of the best barbers.. find one there and put him on payroll
This too accurate 😭😭😭😭
Exactly why I started cutting my own hair about a year ago.
Same bro. Take the same money you would of have taken to Barber and invest in some clippers/trimmers. I started cutting my hair 6 years ago. Especially iam rocking the Braids. All I need is lineup and taper. Stylist only charge me 40 for braids. Simple hair cut was more then my braids. Ridiculous bro.
What clippers/trimmers brand do yall recommend is best?
@@spurstilidie4637babyliss trimmers, any good pair of clippers will do. Get some decent wahls clippers and that should be good.

Cam a wild boi!!! 😂😂😂😂
Facts!!
A hair cut last 3-5 days tops
John Henderson did the exact same thing. Took his barber from Knoxville to Jacksonville. That barber now lives a very alternative lifestyle lol
Who? I'm from Jax
@@thesuccessfulbarber the big bad wolf did this to one of the houses…
1000% correct…. Plus, I'm not about barbers taking 1hr+ to cut my shit because you want to dab up everyone who walks in and take a million pics for your IG. GTFO, I stopped getting fades and changed my style because if y’all and honestly better off so thank you 👋🏽✌️🏽😮
This is why i learned how to cut my own hair doing the pandemic. Best decision i made.
Military shops outside of base cut all the styles 14-20 usd all day an they fire
Man I live in Chicago, you not finding a barber that’s cutting you under $40 shit is insane
Straight facts. These barbers 💈 bugging out
I do understand where Cam is coming from. The barber I used to go to just got too ridiculous with his prices and I found somebody for half the price. If I go back to my hometown I can get a cut and beard trim for 20 bucks
Oh you ain't lying barbers are out of control. And my father was a barber. I just booked me an appointment for tomorrow to get my haircut in my beard and with everything it's 55.😅
But I'm very particular about who cut my hair and the guy who used to cut my hair just up and vanished. And I got some things going on this week so I got the blue shark. But yeah you're right these haircuts went out of control .
Bruh in the background 😂 this was a church service
Cam know he crazy lol
When I was coming up, haircuts at the most was like $15 or $20 but now it’s like $40 and up depending on who u go to. I pay $40 but I only go like once a month if that these days but Barbers always come clutch when u need to look fresh for a week or two 😂
When my mama started cutting Chilli Bowles I learned Quite bout 12 I was cutting mines and my lil brother's..
😂in our shop everybody charge $40 for a cut. The one dude who start at $30and been cuttin the longest… his cuts is worth $20🤣we still in 2003
Big facts Cam
I don’t understand tipping a barber I never have and never will you set your own price I’m paying 50 for the same exact hair cut was 20-35 bucks years ago lol
Cam is 💯 they getting out of control.
Barber prices are wild now
thats why i cut my own hair. once they went up to 50 a cut i went and got some good clippers and learned to cut my own hair
Smart move because I remember when I went to Houston and got a fade he had my head bleeding and pushed my hairline back this was like 6 years ago and then he had the kahunas to give me his business card
That’s why u learn how to cut your hair 😂
@@deonceruti that’s what I been doing for a year now lol
not gonna lie giving you a business card after making your head bleed is hilarious.
Facts. Barbers have lost their damn minds.
I pay $35 at my spot...so paying over $60 is stupid
My guy charges $14 I give him a $20
50 for mine
I pay 20 for mine
I wouldn't mind spending 150$ dollars on a cut if they are doing a full makeover, facials, and female head massage included.
@@Daykiss Dang bruh you don’t have no where to be you might as well go to a spa parlor 😭🤣
5:40 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 shit my barber being doing the same!!!!!!
I dont blame him .... my haircut experience since moving to Houston has been horrible
In Houston it's definitely hit or miss with the barbers 😐😂.
Stroud the Goat
Since moving from the Midwest to the pnw I went from spending $40 for a good cut to $65 a cut 🤐
its crazy cam and pegg not on tv yet.. smh

And your girl absolutely hates it 😂. Just playing, that’s extremely impressive actually
This is brilliant! LMFAO! 😂😅🤣😆
Right cam they all ways want a tip
Yo can newton when you’re selling the 4 and 1 merch??
Man it cost me $35 + tip just for my barber to keep my beard looking good. Prices are insane now.
I hate the ones trynna upcharge if you want a fade instead of a regular cut 😭
Well thats a extra 15mins to do… if u worked at a resturant but they asked u to straighten up the chairs too wouldnt u want extra?
Buddy more than his barber 😂😂😂
I been cutting my hair since the 10th grade and I'm 35
I remember when it used to be $20.. Im in Colombia rn, its $5.00
Everything is going up man.
@@Mike-hy8cs Cause we allow "everything to go up"
@lancerussell755 Not really.
My barber charges $60 for a taper lol I grew my hair out and get cut once a month now 😂
Lol Cam is a fool, that haircut tutorial was on point. He's right, I started cutting my own hair 6 years ago. Haircuts are too expensive.
Yo piggy I like that cam newton shirt is dope I need that shirt!!
started cutting my own for the same damn reason. last one I paid for was $30 plus tip its been 15-16 years now cutting my own and looked around at prices and they starting 50 for a basic mens cut and goes up from there plus tip.
Nothing wrong with it at all
@@Mike-hy8cssimple bro. My time and cut is WORTH $60.
He need to be trying to move the football in the Endzone or else he won't have a job!!😂😂
