Here in Brazil, Antonio is called "Tom Jobim". If you ask for Brazilian poeple about Tom Jobim, the most knows that he is a great artist, and "Garota de Ipanena" (Girl from Ipanema) is probably the most famous of his songs in all places. And Frank Sinatra is really internationally famous. Here , there and everywhere. His voice is great. The Bossa Nova musical genre seems perfect for his voice.
The first album Sinatra made with Jobim is his greatest, and one of the most perfect albums ever recorded. Sinatra sang with an understated and soft beauty that will never be replicated. Sinatra caught the poetry in small things and turned them into sad truths.
@matthewbecker964 It is! I have in on vinyl both Mono and Stereo! I don't recall where I first heard "Quiet Nights of Quiet Stars," but it just floored me. So I made an effort to buy the album when I found out the title. Such a wonderful collaboration. And Claus Ogerman directing the orchestra.
Now, find the album version of "Quiet Nights Of Quiet Stars (Corcovado)" from their collaborative recording "Francis Albert Sinatra and Antonio Carlos Jobim." It's really cook "Tom" Jobim sings Portugese. But this is so great too! Thanks so much, Sarah!
Lovely reaction, Sarah! ♥ Just in case you're not aware anymore: about two years ago you already reacted to another video by "Tom" Jobim: the song "Aguas de Marco", a duet with the unforgettable Elis Regina. 😊
This song was inspired by a young girl called Helô Pinheiro who often, when she went to Ipanema beach (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), passed by the bar where Antonio (Tom) Jobim - author of the melody - and his partner Vinicius de Moraes - author of the letter - they attended.
@@lucianoandrade5007 Yes I am aware of this and the song and style of music, as a matter of fact there is a video of her being interviewed on the topic of this song she says that Frank Sinatra's rendition is her favorite "Meet The Real-Life Girl From Ipanema | TODAY '
One of my favorite albums I ever owned . First on vinyl. Later on CD. Just one thing: the “simplicity” here is deceptive. Both the compositions themselves and the arrangements (way more than just two men and a guitar), are quite complex. And the more you listen, the more you will hear.
I was 14 when Frank and Antonio cut these tunes..…58 years later I love it even more. Thanks for your reaction Sarah🥰

Effortless, pure class, thanks Sarah!

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍
Nation Anthem sung by Meatloaf is by far one of the best ever, a must listen .
Nowadays bossa nova is a preset, practiced by Laufey or whoever. But in its day it was a game changer for music. If only the lyrics were right....
