A couple things on your points; It's widely known in game development that even tho cosmetic MTX is tamer than p2w MTX, it still has a large sense of manipulating how players feel about the style and aesthetics of the game, which all tie into the overall polish and vibe people get. There are studies that show kids feel pressured to buy them because they don't want to be labeled as default skin players for example. Just don't use it is a weak argument because it isn't conducive to how the vast majority of people (especially kids, RR's target audience) feel about things like that. The issue with bad/cash grab custom rooms isn't that we are forced to play them, it's that Rec Room shifted focus from RRO's to making tools for custom content and the majority of what comes out of it are these garbage rooms. Yeah we can just "not play them" but what are we left with then? 4 cool custom rooms and elderly RRO's we've all played 1 billion times? The cashgrab rooms aren't the issue themselves but a symptom of a larger issue. Also, a lot of the people advocating for #saverecroom are OG players who no longer play but have fond memories of the game when it was better and wish to see the game return to it's roots. Why wouldn't we want to participate in discussion about it? Why wouldn't we wanna make videos detailing the reasons why we no longer play so in efforts to raise awareness to what we feel is hurting the game? Yes the community is childish, raiding the servers wont do anything, they'll just spin up some more AWS servers or w/e but the issues people are taking with the game are legit
Let's be honest, you made a pretty good point. we all need a moment a breathe, take the time to think about what Rec Room has done for us. if you don't like the game, just don't play it. its a free game making its own path of success, and it's kinda our fault for turning on each other. So let's all take a moment to breathe, and soak in the memories we've had with this game.
I understand Rec Room is a free-to-play game but charging freaking 60$ to only buy 1 of the TMNT out is outrageous cause other games like Fortnite would charge like 15$ for only 1 of the skins (and you actually got to be the real tmnt and not some guy in a costume). And despite that Epic Games makes Billions of dollars they still have cheaper cosmetics than a fucking indie game that only made Millions but charges way too much money for children with mommy’s credit card.
That’s true and fortnite is also a free 2 play so they need micro transactions too but with fortnite it’s cheaper ig rec room should decrease the prices fr
The thing about those cash grab costume games though. Is that so many little Timmy‘s play them. One or a few even hundred people won’t impact those games much. Also that you can’t see your own body in rec room. You can barely see your own body in real life.
This is more of a middle ground statement, so yap alert. Realistically, there are two sides to the whole "savetheroom" thing. People who think Rec Room's actions are justified and those who disagree with Rec Room's actions. I do agree that Rec Room's recent decisions have not been great, but the movement plan isn't good. Something however that both sides are leaving out, is what can or will happen. I am a 7 year Roblox veteran, and joined in it's prime. Why do I bring this up? Roblox and Rec Room are EXTREMELY similar. Roblox, decided to go for more money, leaving behind the community's voice, and now, they rarely do anything regarding the community's requests. Rec Room is repeating something I have seen before. Roblox's fade. Rec Room is repeating Roblox's fade from community based, to money based. Ftp games like this require lots of money to stay open, but the way some go about it isn't always good. I, as myself, believe that later down the road, Rec Room, by turning off newer players by being "that scummy game" and will not have players to replace the leaving ones, will not be good. Roblox is still perfectly fine, but Rec Room is declining much faster. I think the cosmetic hate in a sense, is justified on the rebellion's statement, to an extent, as some of the new cosmetics are not justified to be so expensive. I'm saying the rebellion is justified mainly because Rec Room as a company has gotten too big for their own shoes. Something should happen, but the players aren't going about it correctly. Something needs to happen, because based on the player count decline, I'm not sure if I'm being dramatic, or if we actually are running out of time. Rec Room, on the other hand, is not entirely at fault here, just bad corporate decisions consecutively is the problem. Although, all the defense I'm hearing, is basically just "Womp womp, we don't care. Have some more hot garbage with a price tag." At the end of the day, things should change, sooner or later, or what will happen otherwise will be completely unstoppable. Okay, yap session is over, mb for grammar. I was trying to type faster than usual.
its also because of meta the flopping of the oculus pro and the oculus three trying to become a apple pro so the decline of people would be the advertisement and the actual people who is getting out of there house because the 2020 thing happend and now because gen alpha being a whole no focus is actully crazy and thanks for making this video people like you should be that person on top of youtube charts thanks
I agree. Just play the game. If you don't like Rec Room or don't like the decisions they've made, don't play it. Don't make videos taking hits at it, don't review bomb because you're not getting your way. just p l a y. I can't deny that Rec Room isn't as popular as it once was, but calling a company that runs a FREE game "greedy" for trying to make money is a bit of a stretch. As a free game, there are only so many ways Rec Room can make money. I thought i'd point out that the recent vids saying "Rec Room is Dying", "How RR is dying" etc, are great and all, but rectubers can't deny that they've been riding this trend because they've seen the success of other videos. (also some rectubers steal/reuse my RR in 24 thumbnail just to try get views, dick move imo) Also this video was a cinematic masterpiece, euphoria and violent night instrumentals are relaxing asf and the ye album cover font matches it so well.
@@TheOddInfluencer it feels like #saveRR movement was a great idea on paper. But it ended on collapsing on itself. If there were more ordered version. I think it would work a little better
I don’t think rec room died. I think what people don’t understand is that nothing stays fun forever🫤… I still find rec room fun but not as fun as it used to be and I hate some of the stuff they added in the game and took out. But I am not gonna start a protest abt the game. I the save rr thing got annoying in my eyes. Sorry for ma yap btw
this video is mostly yapping and less edited but i do think what i have to say is worth listening to so enjoy if you end up watching till the end ❤

those last couple of minutes hit hard, wow.
This was the most understandable and amazing stance on this.

Best yapping I’ve ever heard 🔥🚨
It makes me want to play less when all I hear is negative stuff so the players do have a part in it
This is the best yap session of the century.
Everything in here is very agreeable.
Thanks Turbo 🙏
