She would never touch "filmy" songs while my father enjoyed classical music and reveled in filmy gems of SD, MM, Naushad etc. During her last years mum used to listen to those old songs and say - now I see what your dad liked in these songs. The story - only to congratulate Rahul Ji on choosing to embellish filmy songs while carrying on with the classical heritage. Music is music but when melody beautifies the deep words further it becomes ethereal and spiritual

"baithak"( can't translate this), understanding.. it is a loss that he has picked up a niche.. there are poems,ghazals awaiting.. he can turn them into gold.. if anything..he has to break the niche.. it is out of respect and love I feel .. you can single handedly revive Marathi/semi classical..
@@abp422 he is doing that. He is reviving the good old Marathi and Hindi songs. Many of those are not available in perspective of 'today's sound engineering technique'. It is a boon to us and future generations that such classic gems are available in his voice. Many of us not now but in coming years will realise the importance of his work through this channel. He is (may be unknowingly) documenting it for us... and beyond it.....! 😊

As a fan and believer in his talent I feel he can break the mold.. not comapairing but look at ali sethi.. bringing out gems of Faiz sab n all is his own way.. Rahul sir.. Suresh Wadkar Ji voice is so soothing for sure! The songs he has sung are special due to a mix of romance and sadness. It allows the listener to hear the small small jewels made by the music director as well as the lyrics seep in our soul slowly like a Glenfiddich 21.

🙏राहूलजी....काय झकास सुरूवात झाली एका मस्त गज़ल ची!! तुमच्या आवजाचे तर “क्या केहेने”असे काही धारदार स्वर लागले कि त्याला तोड नाही.....ही गज़ल तर आधिच इतकी सुंदर आणि त्यात तुम्ही तर अजून तिला स्वताच्या आलापी नी असं काही नटवले, सजवले, बहारदार कले कि तुमच्या प्रतिभे चे जितके कौतुक केले तितके कमीच आहे!! नंतर चे तुमचे विश्लेषण म्हणजेच तुमचा विनय आहे!! हा अनुभव काही दिवसांपूर्वी “चला हवा येउ द्या”ह्या कार्यक्रमातुन दिसला......त्यात सहज पणे तुमच्या संगीत प्रवास बद्दल चे थोडक्यात वर्णन (जे क्वचितच ह्या पिढी ला शक्य आहे).....हा अतिउच्च थराचा नम्रपणा आहे......मग तुमचे “मोगरा फुलला” गाणे हा एक मेरूमणीच होता. असेच रहा. अनेक उत्तम आर्शिवाद..🙏
