Thank you Porsche for sticking with needles for the instruments, and finally releasing the Panamera to its full potential (looks wise).
I'd love to see more of how these spots are produced. I recognized several of the settings, meant to convey a sense of real-world presence in New York, but I also know there's no way they ever got those places to be so traffic-free for a shoot, meaning that real-world footage was composited with green screen effects and digital impostors.
For instance, the tunnel scene recalls the Holland and Lincoln Tunnels, but neither has that much leeway outside the left/interior lane-in fact, they have walkways for service and emergency personnel. They also have _solid white lines_ marked the whole way through, so changing lanes within them is illegal.
Similar inconsistencies/fabrications exist for the Grand Central Overpass, the Brooklyn Bridge, what looked like the on-ramp of the Williamsburg Bridge and, in the finale, the FDR Drive. In that last case, the buildings seen behind the roadway simply don't exist; if any live footage was shot there, the real city backdrop was masked away and replaced with pristine digital mocks.
I find it fascinating, and while I have a general sense of the processes involved thanks to my own work in video and graphics, I'd love to know more about the planning, logistics and workflows that go into this. Not to mention, you're not going to shoot a launch trailer for your all-new model on public streets where paparazzi could catch a candid glimpse and potentially steal some of your thunder!
As for the car, it's a welcome upgrade from the frankly ugly-but-I-liked-it first generation, so much so that I'm daydreaming about replacing my current 7-series with one in another 3 years… :-)

Es geht doch um seine Aussage! Da stimme ich überein! Es ist doch so, das jeweils die ersten Versionen von Cayenne und Panamera hässlich waren! Besonders im Heck-/Heckleuchten Bereich! Nun haben sie bei Porsche endlich begriffen, das ein Porsche auch am Heck schön aussehen muss! Die Heckleuchten sehen jetzt viel Hübscher aus, die Dachlinie geht jetzt früher und coupeartiger ins Heck über und lässt das Heck somit schlanker aussehen! Endlich! Hätte Porsche schon von Anfang an so designen sollen! ;-)

Nice car, nice design, but the promovideo is too shallow. People looking "sexy" at the car in every scene. We understand, people buy this car to be noticed!? Or whats the point with the exaggerating people looking at the car scenes. The mojo was ruined by that.

I don't understand why do all Porsche videos have to be so dramatic? They have nice cars but they can really get a first impression if these videos were less dramatic and more real. All that hyped up music...those models that were really un-necessary...I own a Porsche myself but all this really puts me back...Please make more better videos focussing on the inner-style with subtle music and please cut down on all the un-necessary drama going on...

Honestly, I expected more from Porsche Commercial Office. This spot tries to elevate new Panamera but it seems to ridicule Her. Too appearence and too little substance. While I believe that Car has much substance to show.
The Panamera just isn't right ! This is not a proper Porsche, or at least it is not drawn correctly. It looks awful, and always has. The engine does not sound right. A rear spoiler ? Not on such a car. I wonder how people buy this.

I've never been a Panamera fan, actually it was the ugliest car in the Porsche line. Now, it has all changed because of this big metamorfosis! I love it!
I've never necessarily been a Porsche fan altogether, but then I visited the museum in Stuttgart and started liking them. Have always liked the Panamera the most of the lineup, because it's different, and this one is just awesome

The next gen 2017 Porsche Panamera is the 1st model built off the VW Group's MSB platform (support front engine and rwd or awd layouts), US models get engines that will be shared with Audi (V6 and V8 turbos) and Bentley (V8 turbo), all Panamera get Porsche new 8 speed PDK (sourced from ZF), looks better than the last gen Panamera, but with inside the VW Group, Audi’s A7 family still is VW Group’s best looking sedan

Which beats a Pagani Zonda F, Ferrari Enzo, Alfa Romeo Guilia which all used running race spec tires along with reduced weight unlike this Porsche which used stock tires, it also destroyed the ego of the Lexus LFA, Nissan GTR, Ferrari 458 Italia, Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4. Name another sedan that can do that, I dare you.
