@@botulinum7143 Nah not so much the focus. More of the micro decision skills he has with tigreal. I tend to misuse his ult alot to lockdown 1 target, usually the enemy hyper. Works well if its a marksman but if its an assasin that builds axe while the enemy teams mage is an aoe mage and also nearby... then yikes I just helped the enemy assasin gap close. Though maybe thats also randoms being too scared to fight properly since my win rate with tanks does increase as I get out of epic hell. Around 70-80% in legend before stabilising at around 60% in mythic 1.

And as for being about YOUR core not always acurate either. If you think all tanks are just about your own core then at best you will be able to set for your own core, but not always be able to protect them properly. More important is ensuring the enemy core cannot do damage to your own team. This is different from focusing on your own core as you are actually focusing on the enemy core. Examples are counterpick tanks like baxia, khufra and lolita. You pick them because you know it will give the enemy team a very bad day by making part of their kit much less effective. Or assault tanks like hylos and grock that go straight into the enemy team to deal heavy damage and slow down the enemy carry so they cannot join teamfights. I get 60-70% wr on these tanks even in solo queue. I would say the tanks relying most on their own core that follow your description of play smart and rely on core would be tigreal, franco and akai as they have strong CC which makes them very good at setting but generally damage so weak the enemy team can afford to ignore you if you are alone or your team reacts too slow and just fluffs the oppurtunity. I get 55 ish% wr for them which is what you expect for someone relying on their team as a solo player tank playing "well". Then there are fake tanks like uranus or belerick, where Beledingdong requires another teamate to actually set for you to land your CC if the enemy is smart and Ur completely anus actually has no CC and usually needs to get fed before he becomes tough enough to do what he does best.
