2 other ideas I recently learned from PleasantSims are first whims based gameplay-only do activities based on what your Sims whims, and wants are. This totally takes you outside of your usual, limited gameplay and forces you to do things that you wouldn’t normally do or make decisions that you wouldn’t normally make. The second gameplay idea I learned from her is rotational gameplay. Pick a world that you want to play in populated with the type of Sims you want to play with and then decide on how many days you’ll play each family. Move from family to family only allowing the family you’re playing to age and when you get finished with everyone in the neighborhood start over again. I’m gonna try both of these in the near future. Another challenge idea that can be a lot of fun is a historical or decades challenge. If you go very far back, there’s going to be a need for some cc to make it seem realistic, but if you stay in the 19th and 20th century you should be OK with what we have in the game. It can be a lot of fun to play the Sims being limited by what was available to people at a particular time in history. Again, it forces you to play outside of your norm. For example, what would you do if no computers or TV were available? How would you keep your Sims entertained? Anyway, these are just a few ideas I have to add. It was a great idea for a video… Looking forward to more content from you. 🩷🩷
What I do is, I have a modified 'starter file' that I update as I go. When I need to start a new save file, I just copy this file, and start from there. In this file, I like to weave the stories together. I have given the townies makeovers, I connect them socially with friends and enemies, and add new characters. I also add characters from former sims games. For me, the 'important' thing is that these characters are all a bit odd/annoying, or stand out in a way. I get super bored when I play with sims that are too 'perfect'. This also means, when using CAS, I tend to intentionally add physical or personality 'flaws' - to make them more interesting. Makes them much more interesting to play.
two awesome tips - thank you for your comment!! ❤️ having your own custom starter save with your favorite lots is genius, and I definitely agree - my rule of thumb is at least one “bad” trait per sim (bad isn’t the right word but uk what I mean lol) 🥰🥰
The neighborhood stories AI is so jacked up. Every household is filled with tons of dogs or babies or random new husbands or everyone just randomly dies. It just happens way too often
With MCC there’s a settings file that you can save BEFORE you update it, keep it in another folder and when you update MCC place it back it in your mods folder. Your settings will be saved so you don’t have to waste your time redoing your settings. Some other mods do that too (RPO and I think Wonderful whims has it too), btw settings folders only appear after you play using the mod so they won’t be in there when you first download.
I personally don’t enjoy the legacy challenges, so for things like grades and stuff I randomise how well they do in school and I get them to that point. I find it fun because like all my kids in the sims used to all get A in school. Like, not all kids get an A!
Neighbourhood stories made me sterilise all my sims and only add 1 or 2 kids and use "family oriented" and animal lover trait VERY sparingly cause they tend to adopt more in my mind all my sims love animals so i just skip that trait most of the time
@@roosims Seriously. But I think the bug bugging me the absolute most is the fire bug with the pizza oven…. That and the waffle maker girl on fire all the time so I cannot even use home chef hustle at ALL practically! It basically just gives me a choice of cute stands to use to sell some thing else! I am so upset about it because I wasted my money

using randomizers like that is such a great idea!! and you're right, much more realistic!! thank you for your comment
woah this really helped especially tip 4!!
i'm so glad it was helpful !!
I had to turn off neighborhood stories because I play with a big family and I had a bunch of sims I liked to play with die and even lost a baby :(
NOO omg that’s so sad I would’ve cried :((
i always ignored the aspirations, imma use them more now
YES!! something so simple that adds so much to gameplay
omds i needed his tutorials, always W content
so glad you enjoyed
TIP: If you wait for the mod update before placing it back after a game update, you won’t need to tweak the settings. It usually works for me.
Oooh I will try this next time!! Thank you!! ❤️

I avoid those traits too, including cat and dog lover, I think all my sims love cats AND dogs ❤️❤️ thank you for your comment!!
