In between each chapter, you get a glimpse of Peach and Bowser's perspective. And yes, Peach does talk to the computer during all of her segments. It's a little spoiler, but it's an almost 20 year old game at this point.
I can see how Peach's part might be forgettable since there's no fighting, but I'll never forget when Peach had to figure out how to sneak around undetected 🫨😶 arguably my favorite part as a kid cause I was laughing the whole way 🤣

The peach segments were in the original game. They happened between every chapter, which is probably why you don't remember them. They are really short compared to how much time you spend playing as Mario.
Nintendo actually puts out a mid/bad direct (with the exception of Paper Mario) and Wood is super nice about it despite being so mean to the great directs we've gotten in the past 😂
He has never been mean about it. He has said it wasn’t for him and some people got all hurt. He doesn’t have to like everything, I look forward to when he doesn’t care what people say 😂 then maybe we will get mean Wood.

Okay, this Direct for me, was good enough, with very nice announcements and surprises. PLAY ANOTHER CODE!! As a huge Splatoon fan, Side Order LOOKS SICK! And I find your intro to be pretty on point! 👍🏻
The direct was cute. I don’t personally care about most of the games but it was cute in general. I’d say Nintendo doesn’t have more major, impactful games because they’re focusing on the next console
Wood: "Thousand Year Door is the best Paper Mario game in terms of story." Also Wood: "Huh, I don't remember the story being part of the story... DLC maybe?"
I'm really excited to see Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. I have only played the Super Paper Mario game that was on the Wii and I really liked it. I liked it so much that I remember looking around for The Thousand Year Door only to find out that I couldn't seem to find it anywhere (at least on systems that I played). I have heard a lot of good things about The Thousand-Year Door and I am so ready to check that out! I'm also kinda excited about Super Mario Rpg, but not as much honestly. I'm just not sure it's something I'd really like, but I'll probably give it a try or watch someone play it to see what it's like
Wood, "I did a poll and 50% said it was mid [as if that means anything] and therefore it must be a fact that it was mid" isn't the best way of analysing subjective stuff. Especially since we all know they could have shadowdropped Breath of the Wild 3 and 50% would still say "worst Direct ever - where was Bubsy 3D port?"
I used to play "Mario vs Donkey Kong" on gameboy color, it was just "Donkey Kong" known as "Donkey Kong 1994", still on my top 5 games of all time to date. Very excited for this game on switch
Mario vs. Donkey Kong is no more a kids game than anything else Nintendo makes. The original on GBA and DK ‘94 on Gameboy are puzzle platformer classics. Highly recommended!
So believe it or not, I did put Tomb Raider on my personal bingo Card. Though I said "Tomb Raider Collection" on mine, and I was referring to the recent games, Tomb Raider, Rise of the TR, Shadow of the TR.
Ok so Mario vs Donkey Kong was the first game of the Mini Mario Toy game series (March of the Minis, Minis March Again, the 3Ds one that i can remember for the life of me). Im lowkey a fan of this series just off of style alone so maybw the series gets rebooted?? Wow you really dont remember the peach segments? Thats insane, it was practically half the game

Also, the part of the trailer with Peach and the robot that wants her to teach it about love isn’t a new addition. That was in the original game on the GameCube. Also also, why are you giving Luigi’s Mansion 2 a hard time for just being Luigi’s Mansion 2 on Switch when Thousand Year Door is just Thousand Year Door on Switch?
I’m pretty satisfied… Tomb raider, mario rpg, luigi mansion 2, peach and paper mario thousand year door enough for me to consider this a satisfactory direct 😊… ngl i did expect them to show Persona 3 reload, even tho it’s not gonna be on switch any time soon, I’m still looking forward for what i’ve seen so far

Not really interested in dropping to much money on games until I see what the next Nintendo Console will be compatible with. If there is any backwards compatibility issues, I'm not double dipping. None of these games blew me away, so I can wait.
Only thing I was excited for was Fzero 99. But that will probably only be around a couple months. They could have said golden sun was out today on switch online. But here we wait
I felt like I wasted 40 minutes and should have just slept in and looked up what was announced later. They still refuse to give us Windwaker or Twilight Princess.
So it was upper-mid if you had something specifically catered to you (like Splatoon fans, Among Us fans, Tomb Raider fans, etc), but lower-mid for anybody looking for the next BIG announcement or hype-worthy release in general. That's fair. As he said, the Switch is getting old, not every direct is going to bring the hype until a new Switch comes out. It probably doesn't help that after Zelda, one of the only other major franchises on the Switch tends to do their own Directs, namely Pokemon, so it's not like this Direct was going to show us more DLC info or anything. Gotta limit our expectations for a while.
Here's a point of view not many may consider but here's some outside the box thinking about why Paper Mario was the ending game instead of let's say a Metroid Prime 4 preview. Look at the date reveal for Paper Mario... it just says 2024. .Nintendo didn't know what to put in the final spot and MP4 might be a 2024 thing too so they chose Paper Mario but reluctantly cause they knew RPG already coming out soon but they didn't want to reveal MP4 yet to make that more of a Switch 2 reveal.

Most predictions: Probably updates on Princess peach and marketing for Super Mario RPG, Luigi, etc. and confirmations on the F-Zero and DK leaks. BAD What do people want???? If it’s not their best, favorite most hype direct ever, feels like it’s automatically dunked on I feel sorry for Sony later today. They’re doomed if this was considered bad
I actually don't think this was a mid Direct. I think this was a bad Direct. There were only two first party titles that hadn't already been previously announced (being TTYD and Mario vs. DK), the two main slots were previously-announced DLC and a remake (albeit an extremely hype remake), half of the Direct was just going over titles that had already been announced, a lot of which was just DLC or remakes as well. And even the non-1st party titles were mostly underwhelming as well, at least in my opinion. My theory is that the Direct was like this because all of the big, heavy hitter titles are being pushed back until 2024 to coincide with the release of the Switch 2 and we'll have a lot to look forward to in mid-late 2024. Edit: I want to clarify, all of the remakes that were announced are actually really exciting, it's just that remakes are games that already exist and aren't going to stand up to new titles. Also F-Zero 99 is hype

No joke, the mio amiibo was the best announcement to me.
