Yes .. but while placing a order it get opposite.. that's why i used best buy price and best sell price .. At the time of buying or selling , if we want to buy a stock @ mkt price then we have to choose the higher bit that is ask and if we want to sell the stock then we have to choose lower bit that is bid ... That's why bid - best selling price and ask - best buying price
