Hi Paige how are you happy Saturday afternoon to you and I hope you having amazing day and I loved your grwm vlogs and I enjoy your channel and have a great weekend
Hi paige I love your practice vlogs they are really fun to watch I am also a gymnast I’m a level seven and my name is Paige lol also one of my coaches is your old coach Marvin he moved from Brestyans 😊❤
Can somebody who knows more than me about gymnastics answer a question? So I have noticed that some girls on the team, like Paige and Selena for example, are very muscular and lean, like gymnasts you'd see on TV. But there are some girls(doing drills in this video) weighing a lot more- does it not matter as long as they have enough muscle? I always had the impression that gymnasts have to be small, light and muscular, like ballerinas, is that wrong? I'd appreciate an answer, TIA.
Yeah that's incorrect, other than being generally fit looking gymnastics really does not have a certain body type expected anything like ballet or rhythmic gymnastics or figure skating, you just need to be fit enough to do the skills and generally shorter from a just physics perspective is more beneficial, (and keep in mind gymnastics is a lot more upper body strength focused than those other sports mentioned). Though its common for gymnasts to have issues with body image the same way as those sports its really not pushed as an expectation to be dainty at all, if anything short and muscular is pretty common and she seems on the thinner side of the sport and of course typically if youre younger youre thinner.
Friendly reminder that student athletes shouldn't be getting NIL deals when regular college students get nothing in return. Get a workstudy job and a part time job on weekends and still be broke/suffer like the rest of us did. There is NO REASON a college athlete should be making a shit ton of money. You are there for SCHOOL not to be an athlete.
I already commented on this critique once before that there is no such thing as student-athlete scholarships in Austria. The consequence of which is, that there may be great talents, but due to lack of financial support, they never get to the top. So I have no problem whatsoever with the system in the USA. Also, if regular students become RUclipsrs, they can earn their money as well. So in this respect there is equality.
@@no_kangaroos_in_Austria You're missing the point. Regular college students even if they have a part time job, do RUclips, etc can't afford to live. Whereas, most student athletes if they don't have workstudy, make more than any regular student does depending on how much they make from merch and that's fucked up. Half the student athletes I met when I was in college didn't care about their academics and were a distraction in class all the time. Your argument of "a regular student can make a YT too" is not the argument I'm trying to make or even slightly what I'm talking about. The argument is there are some athletes like Llvvy Dunne. who is literally just "famous" because she's pretty, make THOUSANDS. Just from being a mid athlete. And that's not okay. These student athletes (at least the ones with scholarships) already get free room and board, free tuition, free food from the "energy rooms" they have, etc. Whereas, people that are ACTUALLY there for the academics sometimes don't even get scholarships. I just think that regular students that ACTUALLY are there for school should get more benefits because a student athlete already getting all that free stuff ON TOP of what could be thousands from their "merch" when THEY CHOSE to be a student athlete? Doesn't sit well with me. To close this out, if there are walk on athletes and merch is the ONLY way they can fund their journey I am NOT talking about them. I just feel like that if you already get a scholarship, free room and board, and all that you shouldn't get to make thousands ON TOP of that just for being a student athlete? And to beat you to it, they CAN make time for a regular job... Oh they're "too tired"? How about the regular students who have NO financial scholarship that work their ass off but still don't make enough to live? Your argument is invalid.
I don't think that students like Paige could have a job on top of what they are required to do: practice in the mornings, study the rest of the day. Least of all during 'season' when they are constantly travelling. I am with you when it comes to support for regular students who are no athletes. Everyone with good enough grades should have a chance to get a scholarship!
@@no_kangaroos_in_Austria yes they can??? There are a lot of JUCO student athletes that are walk ons that HAVE to find a job to afford to live. Just say they’re too lazy. They could work at a restaurant for a couple hours or on campus. Even if they can’t find time for a job, there needs to be a cap on how much they make from merch.
as your opinion is valid, I think rather than commenting on a young college girl vlogging HER life, if you feel so passionately then maybe reach out to schools rather than commenting on her page with something she can't control and the issue is much bigger. if you want to spread a message always be mindful of how you do it, rather than doing this under a random girls video

Generally these questions should be avoided due to eating disorders in the sport. Your body type doesn't matter, as long as you can do the sport.
