Catholics believe that holy people on Earth (AND the angels and saints in Heaven) can "pray for us" ... and it's ok to ask them to do so... In a similar respect, if you were to ask your pastor to pray for you, that is acceptable... yes, you can pray to God alone, but there is nothing wrong with asking holy people to pray for you as well. That said, I understand your objection to this because we are asking saints in heaven to pray for us (not just people on earth)... but as long as you don't frame it as 'worship', then it's fair criticism.

He is not a man of God. His words here do not align with the bible or God in any way except on his own small minded and self serving perversion. I am Baptist and I enjoy listening to Bishop mar Emanuel . He is straight to the point very clear and has no fear . He reminds me of father Mackary Younan in Egypt . Catholics believe that holy people on Earth (AND the angels and saints in Heaven) can "pray for us" ... and it's ok to ask them to do so... In a similar respect, if you were to ask your pastor to pray for you, that is acceptable... yes, you can pray to God alone, but there is nothing wrong with asking holy people to pray for you as well. That said, I understand your objection to this because we are asking saints in heaven to pray for us (not just people on earth)... but as long as you don't frame it as 'worship', then it's fair criticism.

He is not a man of God. His words here do not align with the bible or God in any way except on his own small minded and self serving perversion. He is wrong at every possible level, and he, like you, do not care. Your hatred, however you want to try and hide it, is dressed up as "holy" when it could be nothing further from the truth. His bigotry is the crime and his betrayal of everything Jesus taught is the tragedy, that he would believe and purport such a small, evil, and twisted kind of God. The good news is that as sad as words would make God feel, he could still find forgiveness despite the sheer hateful idiocy on display here, God would forgive him if his own stubborn pride would move out of the way and let him see his own betrayal. But this is not a brave, strong, or intelligent man. Worse yet, this is not a caring, loving, or humble man, the way Jesus taught. The first set of values are important, but pale in comparison to the latter and his utter failure there is the real problem. He would feel the evil in his words even if he could not understand them if he truly believed in Jesus' teachings, if he truly cared to understand the Christian religion he wants to paint himself as an authority in. The fact that he like many commenters here have chosen to live in such disdainful ignorance as long as they don't have to question themselves and live comfortably in their bigotry speaks volumes that he nor you have cared a single damn lick about what Jesus has taught.

Just as those who claim to be “just Christian” all have their own different ways of interpreting the scriptures themselves. Most people don’t even understand or know that the word “Catholic” in itself means. It means Universal. Catholic Church = Universal Church. Denomination? Only if you say so. And what you say is only your opinion, based on how you feel. Jesus Christ will tell us what we had right or wrong, when we are called up. No human has the power to do that. Pope Francis is not doing anything wrong he's accepting people of all kind like how jesus did when he was on earth. Jesus didn't come for few people to show mercy, do you think straight person will be more accepted by God then a Gay. Roman Catholic my whole life never practiced it like i should every time i walk into a church and see the lifeless priest conduct prayer with such misery it upsets me but when i hear this man talk i feel my faith burn like fire inside of me as if I'd give my life to protect the words that come from the good book.

We should look past the superficial, and dig deep for the Truth. When you go to Mass, you should actively listen carefully to the Word of God being proclaimed. Don't just be swayed by a person's eloquence, but actually discern what they are saying.
Everyone here is saying good things about this Bishop, but what I see is people being divided into sub-groups within the Universal Church. Why leave the True Church Jesus established due to the sins of people? Whether it be the leaders or the people? God's people, Israelite to Jew, to Catholic, has always made mistakes, gone down the wrong path, and God always promised He will never abandon us. God will prevail over all the darkness as long as you follow Him. Catholicism doctrine, with Tradition, the magisterium, and Scripture, will never contradict, will never be broken, and will always be Truth.

We should not leave our church this is exactly what the evil one wants. Our church is being attacked and everyone wants to leave instead of following through with what God commands and praying for our church and for our Pope to open his eyes...
