I love how people forget Susan was on maternity leave and it was mentioned that Eric worked weekends... So after Maternity leave, and Susan would have gone back to work as nurse, so she likely made more than Eric who... basically worked part time? xD
Furisca Fynn Yeah, and you can't really take a baby with you to that kind of jobb, to much running around and long days. Not to mention that they probably had little money left over to hire a sitter. Not a whole lot she can do, appart from taking care of the baby.
@@Catinkontti Hmm, I don't know. I hear that most people just break even on gas. And even if that was true, Eric only worked weekends. I dunno how much more he would have made driving a taxi two days out of 7 than Susan would working as a nurse. Speaking of, I think she probably put in more money on the flat than Eric did. So, yeah, Eric should leave.
I have a feeling that Eric really didn't know how hard it is to take care of a child. When my brother was born, my mom was very busy taking care of him and didn't have time to spend with dad. But he never complained, because he knew that it's hard to be a parent! Eric seemed like he didn't know that!
I know there are so many reactions to this, but ...Are you kidding? Seriously? Tell me you're kidding. He doesn't want affection, he wants an obedient maid of a wife who does everything for him and babies him. All "Yes, dear" and "Right away, dear" with no mind of her own. Cry's angry speech was spot on. Susan could have been better, sure, but she's not even worth mentioning compared to that cow pie of a husband.
Why does everyone act like it's either Susan or her husband who ruined the marriage? Why can't anyone accept that it could be both their faults? Yes, she didn't love him. That much is clear. She even tells the guy on the phone that they only stayed together for their kid. But she doesn't cheat on him. She clearly says the guy just sends flowers and calls, and she doesn't seem to be doing much to keep him interested. She could probably do more to make him leave, but with how little love she received from her husband, I can see how she'd want to feel like someone cares. Not saying it was right, but understandable. As for Eric, he was kind of shitty, too. He didn't love her at all. And he blamed her for things that weren't either of their faults. He used events that were out of her control (the terrorist attack) to blame her for their lives being shitty. Yeah, the stress from that is what made him act like that in the first place, but these were clearly feelings he'd had for a long time. He was as much of a dick bag as Cry said.
Alex Except that comparatively she does do less work. He has a job and it takes up most of his time and energy, and she acts like that's worth nothing and he should also take on a full half of the house work. That's not fair. The sexist one here seems to be you. What you've said is a common attitude in society, where men are lazy for not doing half the work to take care of a child even though they're often times the sole income earner.
Kale Allerion How about, if you're stupid and sexist enough to think that every problem is always the man's fault, you just don't speak at all. I'm sure the whole world would be a better place if people like you did that.
Tbh I still think he‘s majorly at fault tbh. I mean, Susan never even encuraged the secret admierer bs. In my view she was just too submissive aka insecure about telling him no and to stop bothering her to a point he actually listened but then again some men can be dicks as well trying too hard to hold onto a woman while they clearly aren‘t interested. I think that due to Susan‘s lack of happiness in her marriage due to her husbands clear lack of love or respect for her plus her pushover nature she was drawn to the Flower man‘s apparent care and „love“ for her that her husband never gave her. She was easily manipulated in this situation. And in the end she blamed herself for her child‘s death. Susan‘s downward spiral was beginning at the birth of their child I believe when her husband realized how a baby would take the attention of Susan away from him he became bitter and quite sexist.
TheNumnutRandomness wel there had to be a tragedy and since i saw neither of them leave the argument or try and take the baby its obvious something was going wrong especially when she said the window was open and he said it was the hottest day of the summer
Anyone notice the Liar written all over the walls when Susan said she loved her husband? Obviously showing there are problems and strain even before the final argument. Basically... What happened was just the final straw
He's like "I put the bread on the table!" but like, yeah, for the 6 months she's on maternity leave maybe, but she works as a nurse which I'm pretty sure brings in more than a cabbie. Also he's like "Why didn't you have my dinner ready?" like yeah, why didn't she have your dinner on the table 3 whole fucking days before you were supposed to get home? What kind of stupid is that? "Yeah, I'm gonna make you your dinner a full 72 hours before you arrive, sure."
This is fucked up. This game is fucked up. These characters are fucked up. This story line is fucked up. I'm a writer and even I think this is edging on too fucking dark. This fucked me up. *watches next video*
They both ruined their marriage. Look at them. He works as a cab driver and they live in a cheap flat that's in shambles. Neither of them were stable enough emotionally or financially to bear the burden of a child. That was the point of this discourse. Susan was never in the right. This whole game is a story of redemption for her. But Eric also cracked under the pressure of fatherhood.
Third time watching this and I JUST realized the background changes. Like when Susan told her admirer that she loved her husband, the walls were painted with the words "Liar" and when she was in the nursery trying to hide the flower. I guess she was so paranoid about hiding the flowers she forgot about that one important thing.
I don't care much for the flashback with the hubby, but I can perfectly relate with Susan and what she's going through. My mom is doing what the husband is doing. In short: "You're home alone all day while i'm working all the time and you're in the house doing nothing productive *rageragerage and lots of yelling* There's going to be a lot of changes starting tomorrow because I am fed up with you acting like this and I am done putting up with you doing nothing for this household." This game is fucking spot on with so many things. A+ Aaaaalll about perspective, man. A fucking +
Vincent my mother has a home daycare which consists of like 5 or more kids. My dad thinks she should be cleaning the entire house and taking care of the 3 dogs and 4 cats that they have on top of the daycare kids. He worked for 3 days in her daycare because my mother had to go help her mother with a family emergency, he called her the very first night begging for her to come back because he couldn't do it.
The reason the window is stuck open is because Susan could never close it. It's a horrible reminder of her daughter Zoe. It's the one thing that would last longer than the horrible lilies.
Actually here's an interesting tidbit; later in the game if you examine a wedding dress while it's in your inventory, Susan will comment that she never got to wear one because she and Eric signed papers shortly after they found out Susan was pregnant. Despite the fact the both obviously love Zoe, the relationship between them seems to have soured as they ended up in a relationship it's obvious neither of them thought would continue in the first place.
I just smiled when Cry started saying all of that about being equal. He was really pissed off and I'm really glad that he spoke what he meant right away. Before someone comments that not all men think that way, I know that not all men think that way but it still pisses people off even if it's just one person. But it was still nice hearing a You Tuber talking about that passionately and with no hesitation just from watching an argument in a video game.
These voice actors needed to put a little more character in their voice. "oh look there is a phsycopath killer hanging my friend. Let me walk slowly and sound like im taking a stoll in a lovely park"
This is how the Brits really are. Watch some crime documentaries made in Britain sometime. They're on youtube. They talk about brutal serial killers like it's the freakin weather. I can't watch them cuz, A: it's disturbing, and B: it's so boring that I zone out all the time. O.o
Not all Brits are that bad D: but if you watch crime documentaries the people tend to have switched off from how fucked up some people are, it's how it is, I guess.
I watch American and even World crime docus all the time, and have for years. The Britts are definitely different, and not from emotional scarring. lol
"You are only working on your own and you're just like "No, I am right, she's wrong, f*** her, I have dumb clothes!" Oh, man, Cry. XD You're awesome. Especially 'cause of that little rant of yours a bit earlier in the video.
I think this is honestly one of my worst fears. Being trapped in a relationship with someone you don't love, or someone that abuses you constantly and being unable to defend yourself because they're so much stronger.
Amen, Cry, amen. I'm really glad that there are people like Cry who are willing to stand up to people like Eric and tell them to fuck off because like Cry said, relationships are of equal standing, and some people just choose to ignore that fact.
I like him because he's not one of those "hey subscribe, hey like my video, hey share this shit".. He just does what he likes and shares it with us, cool guy :) btw: sorry if any grammar mistakes, I'm dutch
It doesn't have to be abusive in a physical sense. An abusive relationship applies to mental strain as well, and I follow this line of logic because Eric is taking his anger out on Susan. Abusive behavior of a non-physical sense applies to possessiveness, anger outbursts at small things, putting down your significant other, for examples. You're probably right that at some point these two were in love, and despite what people think, having kids will NOT automatically mend a relationship.
I am so happy that someone else believes that relationships are of equal standing. One partner should never believe they are of lesser standing than the other just because one is working while the other one stays home to take care of the family. Also, she was on Maternity Leave! Which means she was working before she had the baby (as a nurse, I'm sure) so saying that she is lazy is kind of a dick move. So yes, Cry, you said it well. He's a dick.
+IIClueless_KII Mitsy was supposed to be standing up on the chair but because of a perspective shift in the game when the cat lady moved, it looks like she's not on the chair anymore, and cry inserted "all about that perspective" subtitle at the same time haha
I don't think I've ever felt more proud of my gender than cry's speech in the middle of the argument. I swear I was canning his name cause no man has ever been so right.
The fact that Eric takes his anger out on Susan regardless makes sense for the segway towards Susan seeking solace in the attention of another man, as is the behavior of a woman in an abusive relationship. Also the fact that Cry chose the selection of the fact Susan lost her father at a young age also plays on the psychology of a woman who lacks the loving attention of a male figure in her life.
when I was watching the flashback and the man said "Im the man of this family!" all i could think was "Wow this is just like my dad" and then cry is just yelling "U SHUT THE FUCK UP "
Honestly, I think Susan should have gone with the other guy. He seemed pretty nice and probably less of a douche. Plus, it sounded like he actually really liked her
Never date an idealist who holds you on a pedestal. You'll never meet their lofty expectations, and they'll be disappointed in a potentially disastrous way.
Well... Not To burst your bubble... But there is a fan theory that her secret admirer is the one who came and tied her and Mitzi up. The parasite this chapter has.
SuperHothead14 OMG that would make sense because of the similar flower aappearancehowever the guy didn't talk and he made a weird noise when he answered the door o.o
Shynight6 well remember it's been at least 10? years. he wouldn't sound the same. but people's main thing is "why does this guy suddenly appear? how does he know where susan lives? how does he know she Hates flowers? or maybe he didn't.. maybe it was a sign of who he is. who he was to her.."
Reading the comments, I'm happy to see some sensible people. Eric has a point. Couples need to spend time together. All the separation of a baby is bad. So what if they made some mistakes, but the part about him feeling back with the separation and the lack of attention hit me hard. I've been in a few relationships that turn stagnant. Where my partner never gives me attention. One only wanted me for my pictures, for my body. It sucks, and it makes you hurt, angry, and sometimes childish. The alcohol in that argument shown made it only worse... gosh this game is amazing!
I watched this play through forever ago when he first was playing this game and now that I'm re-watching it I still find myself cheering Cry on around 24:39 FUCK YEAH! YOU TELL HIM CRY! (and what I mean here is about relationships being an equal thing. That's what I'm cheering for. I'm not a against dudes in general; just THAT dude who's treating Susan like crap...its not right for anyone to treat their partner like that. )
Cry, you are so understanding and supportive. You truly know what empathy is. You're gonna be a great dad (when you'll have or IF you want to have kids).
As a new mother, seeing this. It's a whole different point of view than when I saw this forever ago. Geeze Susan, definitely lost some points in this virtual world yet realistic situation, unlike when I was younger and like "yea, girl power for the win" haha
+Luna Gillian I'm not a mother, but while Eric is an asshole I don't think Susan was blameless for their marriage sucking. Of course she wasn't responsible for the freaking terror attack and what not though.
This video shows one of the many reason I respect and look up to cry as a role model. He believes relationships are of equal standing instead of just one person running the relationship. He is so caring and kind and he will stand up for what he believes in. I think Cry should be president of the United States because he shows true caring and love for people
You know what, Eric was an asshole but I can sympathize with him ONLY because Susan didn't seem to show any care for him. Can you imagine how GODAWFUL it must feel to have your own partner not to show you that they love you in any way at all? I mean, the damn man can't even remember when they last kissed, and I'm pretty sure you can fit that sometime in your schedule even with a newborn. Although, I'm NOT AT ALL implying that the way he acted was acceptable by any standards in this day and age.
True, Susan did something improper at that moment too. And I think she had already got enough punishment in the past 10 years miserable life and suicide...but these just seem bit too much for not showing care for that dick.
No, I'm not asking for Susan to be punished further than she already has. I'm simply stating that yes, what Eric did was shitty but I can understand that he felt like shit himself not being cared for. They probably both only married for the baby, and that's a reason that's not all too uncommon. Honestly, I think it's pointless to even stay in a relationship like that but what's done is done. Just to reiterate what I said in the previous comment, NOTHING FREAKING JUSTIFIES ANYTHING OF WHICH ERIC DID. But of course, you're entitled to your own opinion.
When women have young babies, they tend to become more biologically attached to the infant than ANYTHING else, right? So, a lot of young parents go through the same issue; the new mother has no romantic/sexual appetite because of the massive biological changes. The father becomes upset, since some people associate love with frequent physical love. It happens I suppose... Although, yes, even a quick kiss now and again is good. And yes, we should all agree; Eric was a total asshole. Cheers!
When she was on the phone with the other guy I was SURE that her husband was listening. This game let me down. Could have been the perfect soap opera...
Besides, the choices made in game can either make it sound like Susan DID cheat on Eric, or like she's flattered by the attention of a man who actually finds her appealing and is trying desperately to keep things strait with her husband by avoiding temptation. Eric didn't hate Susan because she cheated, he hated her because she chose to dote on her daughter instead of her husband, who as a cabby, I'm assuming was rarely home.
Do you guys think the guy that broke into Susan's and Mitzi's flat is the same guy whose been trying to get Susan? I mean he did appeared with flowers at the door before he attack them. Or is it just a random guy that just pick the day to attack a random flat for no reason
I'm loving this play-through and the awesome commentary, but I gotta admit I was crying during this part, since this is the exact same argument that my parents have had every week for the past few years. Even though the ordering wasn't identical, many of the phrases I've heard shouted on multiple occasions from my dad (basically everything except for the whole lack-of-love thing). My mom isn't strong like Susan though, and my voice is too weak to shout over them, so it was very satisfying to hear someone fight back to those accusations, and I have to hand it to the writer(s?) for capturing the scene so marvelously. I get that this might be a little TMI, but it gives me a lot of comfort that the general consensus is that Eric was a dick-hole. A little less that they never fixed their relationship and he wound up drinking himself to death, but hey- small details, right? So, uh, TLDR; the writing here is REALLY good and Cry and his shining commentary are giving me a bit of peace in this bullshit marital problems world. (as much as I love Cry, I /really/ didn't expect to ever end up typing that) Thanks for doing this playthrough, Cry, and keep up the great work!
Listening to Zoe cough really hit hard the first time I watched this playthrough. Now that my older sister has three children, the oldest 5, the middle 2, and the youngest, only a few weeks, it hits even harder. It makes me panic a little when you think about something that probably will never happen but the small chance is still there, like Zoe's pollen allergy. Couldn't imagine my nieces and nephew gone because of something like that.
If I'm being shallow then you're being narrow-minded. A man demanding affection isn't necessarily a man who is in love. He seems to me like someone who would demand it out of his wife because he feels that he deserves it more than anyone else, like he should be higher on her priority list than the baby. Not that I'm saying suddenly the baby should come before everything else, but come on. It's a baby. I'm sorry if I can't believe that he is perfectly innocent after seeing that kind of behavior.
I love how Cry responds to everything in his own words, then chooses the option that's closest to it.
Maia M I mean.. he plays on his own way

Amen, Cry, amen. I'm really glad that there are people like Cry who are willing to stand up to people like Eric and tell them to fuck off because like Cry said, relationships are of equal standing, and some people just choose to ignore that fact.
I'm sorry I couldn't watch the rest of this my little sister died and it just brought to many memories back
Sorry to hear that.. Take care
sorry to hear that mate :(
hope you're okay
dane thats realy sad im realy sorry
Be Strong brow
Sorry for your loss. Take care. Take it easy and be careful. Good luck I guess. I wouldn't know what it feels like but I can imagine.
The dude that does the voice of the man is a really bad voice actor haha
Cry is awesome!
I like him because he's not one of those "hey subscribe, hey like my video, hey share this shit".. He just does what he likes and shares it with us, cool guy :)
btw: sorry if any grammar mistakes, I'm dutch
FashionforEver99 I agree, he is awesome! And hey, another Dutchie :) Hoe gaat het?
Haha goed!
Uh, which man are you talking about? Eric or the secret admirer?
***** Eric
i love cry's passionate gender equality speech :3
Damn Cry. I was not expecting that
Gained a little respect for you right there. 24:36
Cry. You beautiful human being. You're amazing.
Cry's standing on relationships makes him instantly datable...
I SWEAR WHEN THE BABY STARTED COUGHING IS LIKE MOST HORRIBLE THING IN THIS WHOLE GAME
34:22 "All about that perspective" hahahaha
+tillydancer101 i don't get it
+IIClueless_KII Mitsy was supposed to be standing up on the chair but because of a perspective shift in the game when the cat lady moved, it looks like she's not on the chair anymore, and cry inserted "all about that perspective" subtitle at the same time haha
BEST DEATH EVER; summon swarm of cats to eat bad guy alive
I don't think I've ever felt more proud of my gender than cry's speech in the middle of the argument. I swear I was canning his name cause no man has ever been so right.
The fact that Eric takes his anger out on Susan regardless makes sense for the segway towards Susan seeking solace in the attention of another man, as is the behavior of a woman in an abusive relationship. Also the fact that Cry chose the selection of the fact Susan lost her father at a young age also plays on the psychology of a woman who lacks the loving attention of a male figure in her life.
Susan saying "I'm a tough old girl, you can't kill me that easily" has the same energy as "I'm a bad bitch, you can't kill me!" lmao
It's the middle-aged persons version
when I was watching the flashback and the man said "Im the man of this family!" all i could think was "Wow this is just like my dad" and then cry is just yelling "U SHUT THE FUCK UP "
Honestly, I think Susan should have gone with the other guy. He seemed pretty nice and probably less of a douche. Plus, it sounded like he actually really liked her
Never date an idealist who holds you on a pedestal. You'll never meet their lofty expectations, and they'll be disappointed in a potentially disastrous way.
A tad bit stalkerish though, not to dispute, her husband seemed like a big douche, but yeah, just a tad bit creepy the other guy
I'm not a against dudes in general; just THAT dude who's treating Susan like crap...its not right for anyone to treat their partner like that. )
34:21
LOL at the bottom its says
"ALL ABOUT THAT PERSPECTIVE"
we all knew the baby was going to die. but fuck, man that hit me hard. the little coughs? that hurt my heart.
This is my third time watching you play this game, Cry. Every time it gets sooooo much better
im pretty sure the guy who hit Susan with the hammer was the guy who kept calling her
Cry would be the best husband ever ! Marry meeeeeeeee :P
This game is fucking me up emotionally and mentally. I like it.
Those baby coughs. Omg. ;-;
*claps for Cry* WELL SAID, SIR!
This video shows one of the many reason I respect and look up to cry as a role model. He believes relationships are of equal standing instead of just one person running the relationship. He is so caring and kind and he will stand up for what he believes in. I think Cry should be president of the United States because he shows true caring and love for people
I love how defensive Cry was being while they were arguing
Eric: I wear the pants in this family!
(What i wish there was an option) Suzan: WE WEAR THE SAME PANTS WITH TWO DIFFERENT LEGS! SO SHUT UP!
Yeah! You tell him, Cry! :D
I just did the math, this entire walk through is roughly 7 hours long. i don't care, I might rewatch it again. I love it so much.
Cry: duh...duh, duh where's the *fuck you* button?
Me: dying of laughter!
The AUDACITY of Eric, the part time TAXI DRIVER, to yell at SUSAN the mother fucking NURSE for taking care of their 6 months out the womb baby.
Ngl if it were me in this situation I would have just snatched the baby up mid argument and went straight to flower man.
Also, FUCK HIS ACCENT.
Who classifys a 6 month old baby as a child?
SUSANS HUSBAND! ^_^
I like how all the cats came to rescue her. Like she gave out a alarm through the piano and the cats knew they had to do something
I agree with this.
Cheers!
Don't forget she was cheating on him as well. Any bit of love and care she had prolly went to that man.
2:47 am i the only one who feel safe after hearing cry say this?
Cry. We love you, and 24:35-24:55 is why.
The fight between Susan and Eric reminds me of the fights me parents have, especially the being drunk part.
Lol you tell him cry!!! :D
When she was on the phone with the other guy I was SURE that her husband was listening. This game let me down. Could have been the perfect soap opera...
SHE WORKS JUST AS HARD... AND SHE HAS A NICE DRESS
Eric kind of sounds like he could be a character in South Park.
"now that`s what i call badass cats"
(as much as I love Cry, I /really/ didn't expect to ever end up typing that)
Thanks for doing this playthrough, Cry, and keep up the great work!
I envy any future girlfriends and your wife cry. I really do.
I have made sure that the soul of the infant is in a better place, so do not worry, viewers.
>->...........alllrighty then
GOOD ;-;
I feel for the child and the parent.
King OfDeath Yes ;-;
… He's a cab-driver and he's stating that he's "working his ass off" ._.
I'd rather drive a cab than take care of a baby, jesus christ
Listening to Zoe cough really hit hard the first time I watched this playthrough. Now that my older sister has three children, the oldest 5, the middle 2, and the youngest, only a few weeks, it hits even harder. It makes me panic a little when you think about something that probably will never happen but the small chance is still there, like Zoe's pollen allergy. Couldn't imagine my nieces and nephew gone because of something like that.
24:37 You go Cry! Made me proud! Then laugh. Because you like her dress... c:
If I'm being shallow then you're being narrow-minded. A man demanding affection isn't necessarily a man who is in love. He seems to me like someone who would demand it out of his wife because he feels that he deserves it more than anyone else, like he should be higher on her priority list than the baby. Not that I'm saying suddenly the baby should come before everything else, but come on. It's a baby. I'm sorry if I can't believe that he is perfectly innocent after seeing that kind of behavior.
Ah Cry, I just love your thinking... She's awesome, too, since "she has a nice red dress". :D
For everything you said about relationships...I just love you, Cry. Just love you.
