    also one thing i noticed is your weighting on a soft surface, always do it on a hard surface as you can make the scales uneven which can give you varied results.

    I’ve got 3 sealed 1999 base set packs that all weighed around 20.6-20.9.. since I got them as loose packs I have no idea if they’re heavy or light. I assume they’re light.. but I’ve been debating opening them for a while. Thanks for sharing Rusty!

    That's great information. I saw a pack on ebay that was 21.1g but the reseller mentioned in the description he would considered it light (because he compared it to much heavier packs). So, it's really up to the reseller's honesty. I'm wondering if some of these heavy light packs could end up in blisters too? Then they would be no way to know,

    Hi I recently bought a 4th print booster pack weighing 21.35 grams but it has a sticker from hasbro Poland on the back. How much does the sticker weigh and is it still considered a heavy pack?

  • @frequensea9434
    @frequensea9434 9 месяцев назад +1

    I have 21.2 and 2 21.3 packs form the same sealed booster box and then a 21.6 pack from the same… I opened one of the 21.3 packs… it was light. Which means I have 3 light packs and 1 heavy.
    It has to do with what the original weigh was. Which means 21.4+
    This means that 20.4-5 is guaranteed light and 21.4+ is guaranteed heavy.
    Holo cards weigh .4-.5 more.
    So this means 20.8-20.9+ could be potential holos… it’s a risk

    Very informative. Unfortunately I don't think that anybody who bought a sealed Base Set Booster Box and compared the pack weights will be selling the heavy packs online... That would be plain stupid. Did you find a Charizard though in your remaining boosters? If so, did you find the pack weight with the Charizard to be higher then the rest of the heavy packs? Would love to know if there is still a difference in weight between a Charizard and other holos.

  • @baska-
    @baska- 4 года назад +3

    *Any reason why you don't weigh every card in the set and figure out how much each card weighs? I'm sure most cards weigh the same, the biggest differences are in the holographic ones. Then we could find a mean weight of 10 non-holo cards, the wrapper weight and finally understand if it's a heavy pack or not. Maybe even figure out which holo will be there. If I had enough cards I'd gladly do that.*

    I know there are different kind of heavy packs from different booster boxes but has there ever been a heavy pack that has reached 23g? Like is there a limit to ensure after a certain weight, it is in fact always heavy? Ive opened packs taht weigh 20.45 that have had heavies in it but every base set pack I have opened above 21.35g has always had a holo in it regardless of not knowing what the rest of the packs in the same booster box have weighed. So I understand lower weighed packs possibly being a new range for heavy (like you showed above) but I have never seen a 21.35 come up with no holos in base set ever. So would that be a safe number? Has anyone else never gotten a holo out of a pack that has weighed over 21.35 grams?

    Quick question to Rusty (or to anyone really), if you were to weigh the packs that are out nowadays for example, what would you consider heavy & light? I only ask this because a lot of the packs now have some kind of reverse holo, so would the reverse add into that weight just like a holo would? Or would you know if it was heavy if it just had a reverse, or a reverse & a holo? (Sorry if the wording is confusing, I really don't know how to put it)

    I tried weighing sun&moon and sword&shield packs. I had 10 packs weighing 20.02gr up to 22.50gr. 2 of the 22.50 were a v and a vmax card. 1 was a regular rare. The difference was the code card. A heavy pack with a green code card gives 💩 but if It's a white code card you'll likely get a holo or better. Idk if this is really accurate because you're not suppose to be able to weigh them but if the code card (wich were 0.2gr in difference) is the only thing messing with the weight you still be 50% able to tell wich packs are good🤷🏻‍♂️it all depends on the code card in my opinion. Have you tried it with the newer sets?

I've seen boxes have 11 and very rare 13 holos but 17 man that would be crazy , I'm pretty confident not all of them will contain holos

    I'll tell you now that you cant follow this rule on hidden fates. Just out of curiosity (forced by kids) we weighed some when we started looking for the shiny charzard. The second lightest pack we opened had the shiny charzard in it. So we found the charzard in the second pack we opened and it was one of the lightest packs. We were doing our own experiment on the weight of packs and found out weight doesn't matter.

    FINALLY!!! i've been telling people this for some time, i actually opened 12 rocket packs to get an exact weight with "my scales" to figure out the lowest weight that contained a holo, people don't understand also that different scales can be tarred differently only slightly, people laughed when i told them, unless you physically open packs and figure out the weight on your own scales, you cannot guarantee a heavy pack, the packs i sold as heavy all got holos, if you change to a different pair of scales, you must do this process all over again.
