May 23 update of the berry's that I planted the previous year. All berry excluding the Mac Black were purchased at Pence Nursery Inc. penseberryfarm...
I use this in the Spring www.starkbros.com/products/tools-and-supplies/soil-additives/stark-blackberry-and-bramble-fertilizer I use this in the Fall www.starkbros.com/products/tools-and-supplies/soil-additives/stark-raspberry-food
You're in zone 6b. I'm in 6a. I was just wondering why you decided to grow Prime Ark Freedom and Ponka? Not exactly cold hardy plants. I'm starting Twilight and Ouachita next spring. I'm glad to see your Ouachita look so nice. With so many varieties to choose from, I hope I made a good decision on mine? I might also try Caddo.
These cultivars were recommended by Pence nursery for a continuous harvest for my area. Somehow the tags got put on the wrong plants, but I believe I did get what varieties I ordered. The Ponca and Freedom did fine over the winter though it was rather mild. I got a good amount of new canes this year, and quite a bit of fruit. The Prim-ark freedom is giving it's second crop of the year right now. Good Luck!
@VonFej61 That's good info. The only variety that I was told would be best for my area was Chester. Nourse farms told me this. I wish you a bountiful harvest.
that really looks like PAF and not Ponca around the 1:00 mark I don't trust Pense - he sent me thornless canes and labeled them as Prime Ark Horizon, then argued with me about it
It's not PAF. Whatever it is, it's a florican fruiting variety. I'm thinking they mistakenly put the Natchez tag on them, and the Ponca tag on the Natchez. I ordered more Ponca and they looks just like the ones that were marked Natchez.
What do you fertilize your berry plants with? I have some prime ark freedom and some black raspberry plants. Thanks

@@VonFej61 ponca has close internode spacing, and some people say it ends up looking like little christmas trees because of it
@@MikeDawson1 That exactly what they look like. Short, stocky with very close internodes.
@@VonFej61 well then maybe I'm wrong and I apologize! they just looked exactly like PAF from the video
