Birds of Steel was the successor to IL-2: Birds of Prey, and was succeeded by War Thunder a few months later in case you're wondering. Personally i count all three games as part of the IL-2 franchise, but War Thunder is different, with ground combat as well as the Free 2 Play formula.

Yep, his soundtracks are legendary, IL-2 reminds me a lot of Back To The Future music wise. As in the two music could be switched between mediums and would still work.
I remember when around 7-9 years ago my dad would let me watch him play this game. I would always jump a little when the plane exploded on the ground. I still remember that time I was (99% sure he gave me the easiest mode) and he said "wow I think you're better than me at this game." And I took that really well. still have yet to figure out how to get battle of stalingrad working..
This music is ear sex I wanna make love to this music, it's beautiful, it's romantic, it's mighty, it's dramatic, it's awe inspiring, it dances and fleets about much like the aircraft in the picture. In each note there's a tinge of tragedy, of death and sacrifice, but this is replaced by the high pitched trumpets that mimic the angels of heaven. The deep trombones help maintain the bridge between the material world and the world of God. Because fighting amongst the clouds like this is like fighting on heavens doorstep. I feel romance and the I feel the love stories between young men and their first love with women at the time. Men doing their duty and fighting with all their strength to defend the island of Britain from surrender. I feel the pressure and pride in this music that was bestowed upon these young men and how the fate of the world relied upon their actions in the sky. These pilots spent their youth fending off attacks from a foreign power, they were following in the footsteps of great kings before them like at Hastings. The song also alludes to the graciousness and stark beauty of the Supermarine Spitfire the most sensual and caring aeroplane there ever has been. She was the engineering that held Britain together and upon her wings rested the future and destiny of mankind.
