There is something about them that just makes them stand out and it’s fun to bring them back to life. There are so many just sitting in the back 40 somewhere and I’m glad they weren’t just thrown away back then but people had the notion to hold on to them.
Right, that’s the most I have seen for power steering but customer didn’t want that air assist ram hanging off the tie rod tube. I have another Freightliner myself that has the air assist on it and works good
Straight Line steering out in California could probably help you out on what kind of a set up you would probably need for that tractor. They are online. Bill. It sure came out nice. There's a Father and Son trucking family in Fontana, Ca that have a Freightliner Power liner single axle with a KTA 600 Cummins painted the same exact style only red and black that they use and show.
Ok, I’ll have to look into them as well. I did find a place in Sioux City Nebraska that will assemble all the parts needed to make a hydraulic system work. Just waiting on the customer to make a decision. I’d like to see that Power liner, they are beefy trucks.
I don't know if this would help, when it comes to the power steering issue, it might be worth getting a hold of Wayne from the Ol2Stroker youtube channel, there's not a lot he doesn't know about when it comes to detroit engines and the parts for them. Just a thought and I hope it helps.
Really appreciate that tip, I did end up finding a place that can assemble a complete power steering system for the truck but I’m waiting to hear from the customer if he wants to proceed. It won’t be cheap, but nothing is at the moment
Hmm, beautifully executed work there. Shame it does not have a proper 5th wheel. In the excellent before/after shots I think I prefer the no visor look, but, as ever it is not mine, so my druthers matter not a jot. Thang goodness it is not stretched. Park it up front for a few hours, might attract even more trade!! Ask Dane about a feature/interview on his channel. Hearing about you and Travis's backgrounds, how the set-up works, if this is full-time, if the trucks are for sale, either as finished articles, or if you would sell, then work to the customer's instruction, and so on.
Yeah the visor is a bit much, I would prefer nothing or a factory visor myself. That’s a great idea, we should set up some kind of Q&A session to better describe what we do. Thanks for watching and have a great weekend.
Took some finagling to get it to look right and still be able to see out the windshield but it did give it a modern look. We appreciate your part in making the build come together, the bumper fit perfectly!!
@CLGarage No thank you guys for posting good content and for the incredible workmanship on the Freightliner. I grew up in one so a COE FREIGHTLINER always has a a special place with me. Keep up the good work!!!
What a beauty.👍🏻👍🏻 I'm a bit envious. 😅
It did turn out better than I expected!!

That truck is super cool. Does it ride rough being a cab over and single wheel base?
Surprisingly no, it does have a dealer added air ride that helps a little but it’s not too bad.

That is one sweet ride. I think the visor gives it some attitude. Thanks for the shout out. Much appreciated. Keep up the great work
