When animating, using existing bones in your character rig, what happens to the 'highlights' and 'shades' vector layers? How do you ensure these follow the changes made to bone layer i.e. the arm&hand example?
I wish the exclude strokes function didn't cause a thin white line to appear around the strokes of the shape (even in render).. I was hoping moho 14 would fix that finally. There's no point using expand mask by a pixel to fix it either as that just causes the strokes to become too pixely. :/
Masking doesn't affect the size of the files, but since masking can be heavy to process, too complex masks can affect the performance on the canvas. This is usually not a problem in most of the projects, but you have several options to help with the performance, such as deactivating masks or the new option Hide masked layers, which disables masking preview while keeping the silhouette of the characters working. Also, for many situations Liquid shapes can replace masking. Liquid shapes are lighter to process and simpler to setup, so it is an alternative many users prefer.
There isnt a way to for the mask to reveal layers gradualy? Its just on or off? Lets say like in Photoshop where the different values of the mask lets through different levels of transparancy?
Hii!! I have a question, is there anything that can replace the mask? I'm trying to shade my character but every time I click on the mask moho crashes and I can't even enter the project anymore. I saw that I'm not the only one who has this problem, is there a solution?
Masking works with both vectors and images. If the images are complex or have different levels of opacity, the accuracy of the canvas preview can vary. The best is to render a preview in order to see how it will look in the final animation

I had trouble getting the hang of masking, mainly because there weren't any good video tutorials about it. Thanks, Moho, for finally making some
Thanks to the producers of the video series ,with this much documentation on the software its been a breeze to learn this software.
I never would have figured out how to fix the missing hand. Thanks 😄

Sir you have to bind all those highlighted and shadow layers with that existing bone that's it .
What type of binding

Does masking make your filesize heavier? And if so are there alternatives to masking?

@@mohoanimation Okay, thank you for replying. I'll keep it in mind
Why didn't you teach how to fix those jagged edges in the viewport when masking?
There's no fix, that's how they are. You notice their final result on the render review.

@@matslarsson5988 you can animate the opacity of the mask layer. The effect is going to be shown in the render

@@Lagartixatomica Hi! What version of Moho are you using? Try downloading the latest update. If that doesn't work, please contact our support team
does masking efficiently only work with vector layers, and not raster layers?

There’s no masking option in my layer settings ☹
Nvm I figured it out.
How can I do it in moho debut?
Does this technique work in Moho 12?
Masking works on version 12, but has been improved on 14, specially the canvas preview
