Thanks for sharing, you're not taking into account top to bottom centering on many of your cards. For the 82's, the surface usually has a slight issue. I always look at PSA 10's on eBay to determine centering
hello i have some of those and others butt i am way way far away from the states i lost my job so,,,,,, what can i do with this collection like yours they went from the pack into sleeves they all look great who could tell i sure dont know anything about card grading please keep me inmind if you or any friends need something nobody could ever sell cheaper then me as here there only be good as kindling
I learned from my submission that 80s cards have more defects than you see at first and aren't worth the cost of submitting. Good luck with yours, I hope you can do better than I did
I opened some sealed boxes (1989/1990/1991) from my childhood last time I went to my parent’s house…they are literally flawless, other than centering. I’m planning on sending in the best cards, and am nervous to see what that gets me.
Good luck, hope you do batter than I did. All those 82 Topps cards were from cello packs we ripped. Maybe if yours are from wax or rack packs they will be in better condition.
I just got back my 80's grading special and got crushed. I have never received so many 7s in a submission. The order flew thru PSA and it makes me wonder if they are just pushing orders our the door (most especially with these $15 specials) with more speed and less accuracy (and potentially newer graders). I literally will lose $400 if I resell at current values.
Oof, that sucks. I lost money on this one too probably, maybe some of the 8s could sell for more than $15 but even that might be tough. I also wonder if they are harsher when grading as part of monthly special... shouldn't be the case but maybe you are right, they get so many that punish the sender...
I just got back my 80s special sub not too long ago. I did a vid on it. didn't hit a single 10 either. Basically turned out to be a break even. As only one card was for my PC. My best advice is always assume one grade lower than you'd hope for. Then check comps to make sure at minimum you can break even on them. Those 82s are gonna be tough to sell. Rose might be okay. Unless it's a huge pull, I'm done sending in 80's and early 90's card. The juice ain't worth the squeeze. Better luck on your next sub. Cheers!
Yeah I just watched your reveal, I agree with you, even though you in general did a little better than me. I probably wasn't strict enough in my submission.
Very true, I thought the 82s were all sharp would get 9 or 10, I was surprised at how far off I was. The only one I thought would not get 9 or 10 was the Gibson rookie, which I added to get to the 10 card minimum. And maybe the Larry Bird.
PSA is really tough on 80s and 90s cards. I have sent in a lot of 80, 81, 82 etc and get a LOT of 8s and an occasional 9. Somehow I landed an 86 Donruss McGriff in a 10 but I was shocked.
Thanks for sharing guys! Sorry, those were some tough grades. Hopefully your 70s return is much better. Take care and good luck!
Thanks Lance, it is a different grader I am sure, because it is taking much longer. We'll see but I am not very hopeful...
Tough luck guys. One of our 80s subs was pretty similar to this. Some of those looked really good. Keep it going though!
Thanks very much, appreciate the support!
Those grades are mainly because of the centering on the back of the cards.
You think? That could be. I probably didn't pay enough attention or ignored centering issues on the back. Thanks for watching

Yeah I thought there might be a problem with the surfaces. Thanks for watching

Brutal man. Such a hard racket sometime. Really hard, feel your pain. Guess we all need more powerful magnifying glasses?
Ha, thanks very much... need something to magnify to find the defects that PSA finds that I can never seem to see when inspecting
I feel your pain. I haven't done older card grading, ive heard vintage is quite a bit tougher but I am not sure why. Still nice cards.
Thanks, I do more vintage than modern. I should stick with 60s and earlier, and ultra modern probably
Im so sorry guys. That mj looked good. The bo jackson is a favorite too. Im wishing you both better, better luck on your next sub
Thanks so much Mike... I almost didn't post this video...
The 86 mattingly is 85/15 top to
Bottom. Keep your head up
yeah other people noticed that too, I thought PSA was more lenient on the backs, guess not
I remember those Carltons, the chopped off arm look!
yeah, to kid in the 80s it was memorable look!
Nice Smith rookie and Jordan. I guess send some of those to SGC. PSA is so random.
Yeah I am using SGC more now. Thanks for watching
How much do they factor the centering on the back? Must be substantial with the back of that Mattingly.
Yeah someone else said that too, I probably underestimated that factor
They should give you reasons why a card gets a low-grade
Exactly... very frustrating getting them back with no explanation.
That was hard to watch. I’ve been there. Sorry man. Thanks for posting.
Thanks I appreciate it. It is hard for me to watch too, I didn't even really want to post for a while...
I feel for you, I got a 5 on a new card, who knows?
Exactly... we both know the feeling.
Brutal, absolutely brutal.
My thought exactly... thanks for watching
Should've went with Degreegrading. Much better and more accurate than PSA.
thanks, I don't know that one but must be better than PSA
I see what you mean. Fun cards though.
Thanks very much
My 80s submission was similar 😢
Yeah I think they are getting stricter, I don't think I will send in 80s cards for a while. Thanks for watching
Sorry about the grades. Sweet cards though bud. 👍
Than, I appreciate it
you cant have the back so off center in the back. wow do ya not look at the back? The Don Mattingly 6 card. Looked like a 6 to me.
I tend to miss these things, always thought PSA was more lenient with OC backs...
Back can be 90/10 from PSA 9 on down but that one looked pretty bad. It was the centering on the front that was low, looked 80/20 at best
That's tough, sorry man
Yeah took me a few days to get over, and no more 80s card submissions for me lol. Thanks for watching.
Oh wow a slew of sixes
Yeah, not even lucky like 7s
just be more critical...not all cards are 9 and 10. i seen flaws as soon as they were shown, and I'm not using a microscope
Yeah I was overly optimistic and definitely missed some flaws. Learned a bit for next time if there is a next time
Outside of the Bo Jackson if you feel it’s a potential 9 or 10, none of these cards should have been sent in for grading.
Very true, I thought the 82s were all sharp would get 9 or 10, I was surprised at how far off I was. The only one I thought would not get 9 or 10 was the Gibson rookie, which I added to get to the 10 card minimum. And maybe the Larry Bird.
There is no problem send in any card if the plan is yo keep it

That was rough. Makes me think they hold grades down in case of pop counts.
Yes they probably do, and was rough indeed, my last 80s submission for a while. Thanks for watcing!
@@CardCollectingDuo you’re welcome. The BJackson Topps RC is my favorite looking card from the 80s.
You got robbed by psa
Ha, that's what I thought
