Damn I was so stoked to see you had a video covering this! I've followed your beat making / maschine tips for a while and I'm now starting to get into DJing. After extensive research I think I've decided on this controller, so I looked up reviews and clicked on this vid right away. Great review my friend, thank you for all that you do.
Thanks for making an honest, practical review. I kept seeing people rant and rave about Traktor without really explaining the pros/cons. Ultimately, this just made me feel like they were biased towards the brand due to their own history. I like that you talk about what you like AND what you dont like. Ultimately, I decided Traktor wasnt for me at this point in time.
Thank you for sharing your insights. I am seriously considering the new S4 over any Pioneer controller because of the ease of use and effects in Traktor. Your review helps a lot. Greetings, Maurits.
Accurate Beats, I was wondering about the Traktor Kontrol S4. It has four pairs of RCA connectors on the back and I heard someone say that you could hook up turntables to the two of these on the channels not used for the jog wheels and use the S4 as mixer for these as well. Quite a while ago I bought two turntables and two Serato control vinyls. However I have not yet bought a mixer. Now I am thinking about saving up for the S4, and use it both for DVS scratching with the turntables, and also of course because I want to scratch with the jogwheels as well. Whether this makes sense or not, I don’t know. Anyway I was wondering if you could do a video where you hook up your turntables to the S4 and use the S4 with control vinyl for DVS scratching and comment on the experience. I guess the distance between the turntables and the faders might be awkward, but regardless of whether it turns out to be uncomfortable or a nice experience I think it would make for an interesting video that I am sure that other viewers would appreciate to watch as well. Please please, thank you :)
We have the rx2 at my job and It’s also an awsome product. I love that the RX2 is a standalone device and can play from usb sticks. The displays are also awsome but the moving jog wheels on the S4 is way better for scratching according to me. It really depends on what you’re looking for. I also think the Rx2 is a little too big for what it is. For home studio use and for bringing to small gigs I think the S4 wins. :)
I have a maschine mk3 and wanna buy a s4 mk3, can use both in a dj set? have any sense use both? jajaja please! make a video using both! greetings from Chile :)
Maschine mk3 could be mapped to functions in the tractor software and function as a midi controler... But I make beats so is your machine for finger drumming and triggering one shot samples and breaks if I did a live show... Might do a video like that, thanks for the idea!
Nice review! There seems to be a decent amount of talk from users about the headphone volume not being loud enough, though. Does anyone know if the (recent) update to TP3 software addressed this? I'm currently a Serato controller user, but this controller caught my eye, and I'd like to know if it's worth it, or do I have to go back to finding a Serato controller that isn't a delicate piece of plastic (and don't say "Pioneer" - the DDJ SX3 has MAJOR problems, the SZ2 is out of my price range, and the others have really short pitch throws....)
How does it compare to the Numark ns7 3? I’m about to purchase that and now this Tracktor comes out. How does the scratching feel on it compared to the Ns7 3?
IS it possible to do a backspin that goes into full stop n windsup back playing foward (as it was playing). It was possible in some old Traktor Dj Studio 3 (I think it was 3). In that traktor Dj Studio you could grab the wave n flick/ spin that track backwards as fast as your mouse movement went n slowdown into fullstop n then windup into normal playback speed. Possible with the S4 MK3 jogwheels? TP 3 with mouse.. it starts the playback normally before going t a full slowed down stop.
Jumping on this question! Do you know if the S2 has the "capture" feature? I've watched a video where the DJ used capture to record and save a live loop using the S4.
just bought this and straight out the box i have had issues faders not showing the right tempo when loading new track until you moved the fader then the tempo would catch up, screen freeze on the info screens and all button on the controller had a 3 to 4 second delay. and traktor software still has issues with loading a new track that has stopped but traktor says track is still playing unable to load new track. this for me is not realliable for any professional set up. and so far ive spent over a £1000 on there gear. really disappointed.
HI peeps - I found the explanation for the carbon protect faders on the s4 website: www.native-instruments.com/en/products/traktor/dj-controllers/traktor-kontrol-s4/whats-new/
This is what music has needed anyone who experienced the s4 mk 1 7 years ago will no doubt be like me bored with this new cool imagine coke snorting hipsters on cdjs or decks with zero creativity , turn the clock back to 2011 when the traktor revolution happened and have fun , A whole new level of djing was born then bullied out of the way by misery arses
I see you're cosplaying as Anthony Fantano for Halloween. Very nice.
Chad Mojito you beat me to it. Haha. I knew he liked this controller before I started watching.
I was thinking Dwight in the scranton electric city video
lmao damn
Great review and performance!
Killing it Accurate. Never stop brother
You're just down to earth, to the point. And you love the culture. Peace! and respect! 👏🏾💯✌🏾

I love how proper thorough he is. Impressed.
Wow, thank you for that description and review over the S4, guess that makes it easier for my decision buying it. Nice channel! Keep on the good work!
Great job! Loved the performance.
Thanks a lot! I never though that kind of scratching could be done on a controller like this.
Thanks for watching :)
Really liked the performance at the end. Maybe you could do those more often👍🏾

If you had a choice would you get this or the pioneer xdj rx 2 ?

@@AccurateBeats Im gonna try the s4 as soon as my local store gets it and then ill decide 😁
I can see a future in that style of jog wheel
I swear the loop mechanic was the same on the Mk2 ??
That's some smooooth scratchin' :D
I have a maschine mk3 and wanna buy a s4 mk3, can use both in a dj set? have any sense use both? jajaja please! make a video using both! greetings from Chile :)

Can you set the CF curve on the unit itself or has this to be done in Traktor' s software settings? Nice video as usual 👍
Do you have like a standard tutorial for making some sick beats with only a midi keyboard??
I’m afraid not. Maybe I should work on that
How does it compare to the Numark ns7 3? I’m about to purchase that and now this Tracktor comes out. How does the scratching feel on it compared to the Ns7 3?
Do you know if the S4 has the "capture" feature?
can you use an i pad with this or a surface pro? or does it have to b a laptop or desktop?
traktor fj should work but you only get 4 decks
sp404 tho?
And. Turn table
don't forget it has new DAC chip!

Would have been nice if the faders were at least "innofader ready" ;) Dope unit!
S4 mk3 vs denon prime 4, which one to buy? I'm aware s4 is not standalone. But please comment
you have to roll the dice on that one they both the best you can get if youre a traktor use the s4 if you like the denon prime then the prime 4
Are you from sveaden you say ha det gött and it sam like have it fun
buenas tardes .
se puede mezclar video con este controlador ?
Latency?

Do you know if the quality is the same with the s2 mk3?
Cheers

The internet's busiest beat-nerd.
"Now the 8 pads on each dick" 😂.....sorry it just sounded exactly like that! Great review though, love your videos.
Paul Cousins haha! Thank you. English is hard sometimes :p
Looking like Anthony Fantano haha
Not sure about the touchscreen but apart from that I totally agree :)

Don't waist your money on upgrading to mk3 if you have the mk2 even with Traktor Pro 3 software...
um why ?
I personally hear a lot of clicking while you scratch!
HM!
damn, first!!
Great review, horrendous music:)
What's wrong with the music?
No. Poor video
Hipster overkill. Thumbs down.
