Olympus EPL9 compact Micro Four Thirds camera - is it a good compact camera?

Even though I might not spend money on this, it would still be cool to have system camera fit in ones pocket.

i bought a used GX85 and have been thrilled plus there is an electronic viewfinder for extremely bright days. additionally, the panasonic menus are so much better than the oly menu. funny enough, my everyday walkabout camera is the rico GR2 and i have been overjoyed with that also. enjoy the oly PL9. thumbs up.

I just bought one ..like you bought as I have been searching for a decent compact to travel with. I tried the Ricoh and tried the Sony compacts very disappointed even after all the rave reviews.I hope this is the one .

hi. any idea on how to get the art filters working when filming in 4k? they seem to only work in 1080, although they work in 4k on the em10iii..

I got the E-PL9 to work alongside my E-M1 MkII. Both have the electronic shutter which avoids the mechanical shutter noise - in the E-PL9 it is ONLY found in the AP setting as Silent mode! This is mode designed for quiet shooting like at a wedding and you can't set the shutter speed or f/stop because it is a Program mode! You can't use electronic shutter in any of the PASM modes! This is a big disappointment - why would Olympus cripple the camera this way?
