    After completing this video you will be able to:
    Differentiate between
    -Proximal convoluted tubule, distal convoluted tubule, collecting duct, thick limb of the loop of Henle, thin limb of the loop of Henle, capillary lumen.
    -Renal cortex and medulla.
    Describe the structural components of the glomerular filter.
    Explain the presence of a brush border and dark cytoplasm in proximal convoluted tubules and the abundance of profiles of proximal convoluted tubules in comparison to the distal.
    Identify transitional epithelium, mesothelium, urinary bladder, ureter, minor calyx, renal papilla, detrusor muscle, glomerulus, Bowman’s capsule, renal corpuscle, and umbrella (dome-shaped cells).

    how can you tell the difference between a ureter slide vs a bladder slide?

      The mucosa is the same but in a lower magnification, the ureter has the characteristic star appearance of the mucosal folds that might show the tube (depending on the magnification) and the thinner muscle coat of the ureter in comparison with the urinary bladder which might show mucosal fold but does not show a lumen.

    Please why is the proximal and distal tubule made up by cell of columnar shape and the Glomerulus made up of flatted epithelia cells

      The glomerulus is tuft of capillaries and capillaries all over the body are lined by flattened epithelial cells (endothelium). The capillaries of the glomerulus filter the blood and do not require the machinery (organelles) to selectively reabsorb as what happens in the PCT & DCT where the active and selective transport require multiple mitochondria and pinocytotic vesicles.
