No link in the description.
If that's what it'll take, I'm good with paying $11 at Harbor Freight.
Nice project Dustin and a pair of handy, good looking clamps :)
Thats actually a lot more work than i expected. Great result!
Fantastic as usual! They look very useful.
Those are the prettiest clamps that I have ever seen!
Save the glue ups and purchase square staircase oak balustrades or spindles whichever you know them buy.
I've watched literally hours of your videos. this is the only one that I've seen a plan while you were working.
good job as usual.
Yeah I had to simplify the plans that came with the clamp hardware. Thanks for watching!
It must be lovely to have every tool in the world. In Europe we buck up & use what we have. You are a very spoilt man
@@richjones5432 what a cunty comment.
Get a life
That was awesome. More complex than I expected
Simply outstanding👍👍👍👍👍
Very nice! I intend to make a pair just like these, thanks for posting. Mike from UK
Good and very useful project with an excellent video format.
That was fun to watch. Very good presentation!
very nice edit!!
Really nice clamps, Dustin.
What angle did you tilt the drill press table to when drilling the secondary holes?
Number of tools used that no regular home owner owns: 9000
killertoast no. Also don’t use the tools I used, use whatever tools you have. If you’re trying to making your own clamps I’m guessing you have a few tools already.
You had me at "Deez nuts." Subscribed!
Awesome video, Dustin! These are on my to-do list now...
+SimpleCove They're on my to-do list too... albeit very far down the list. :-)
@David Shaper Here's a huge collection of woodworking plans: WoodSun. xyz
Nice build, I love my Rockler clamp
Excelente !!!!
Left hand all thread rods and cross dowels are available in bulk. A motivated person could make a lot of those clamps.
Destitute step one: find motivated person.
Great work. Thanks for video!
Very good!!! Congratulations!!!
Lol damn straight Deez nuts. Oil Bofa Deez nuts! that was awesome Dustin! Clamps turned out great to.
If you're coming to this video just now, there is an excellent reason to purchase a kit over buying a ready-made clamp. See these videos:
"First improvements ever to this 122 year old tool" by Taylor Toolworks
And:
"Must see way to Modify woodworking clamps!" by Stumpy Nubs
You can use some of the techniques Dustin uses in this excellent video as well as those Mike Taylor uses in his.
They are beautiful, GOTO TO-DO-LIST. Cheers!
Thanks!
What did you finish them with?
Nice looking clamps!
Excellent work ! 👍
The clamps look very nice :O)
Rock Maple flooring strips make good clamp material
Very nice project.
terrific, as usual
Love the Brain It On theme ;)
Beautiful and useful
Very very good!
bravo !!
Very nice!
Hello Dustin! It´s a very nice Work!
Look at all the advanced tools I need to make a basic tool... Especially clamps to make clamps
Vaney Rio yea... using tools to make other tools... unheard of.
Dustin Penner Sorry if it came out as an offensive comment, did not mean to. I would definitely kill for a shop like that.
These can also be made just using hand tools just as they were a century ago.
Awesome!
brilliant vid. Reminds me of Vision On....
Nice build!
This is cool friend!
Looks like the holes are reamed open at about 15 degrees on either side of the primary shaft opening. Is that about right?
Sorry I am late to the party. Nice build and video, as always!
Very Impressive!
Really cool videos Dustin, but it would be better if you explain what doing and tips, thanks.
Saw the teaser on IG. These look awesome!
+Michael Lawing I do my best to keep my Instagram follows in the loop! Thanks for watching.
Sweet! You can never have enough clamps.
Nice work. But some of us don't have all those tools handy.
A drill and a tablessaw?
Cool, thinking about the clamp lately.
dustin nice work .
ESAS PRENSAS LAS COMPRO MI PADRE CUANDO TRABAJABA EN EL TALLER DE CARPINTERIA DE LA OFICINA PEDRO DE VALDIVIA SIENDO LA DISTANCIA DE 160 KILOMETROS DE ANTOFAGASTA-CHILE. CLARO Q' SON DE MADERA SOLIDA Y FABRICADAS EN U.S.A. SON UNA HERENCIA DE LA FAMILIA Y LAS OCUPO MUCHO ME SACAN DE UN MONTON DE APUROS...
สวยงามมากครับ สุดยอด😄
Turned out nice bro! 👍🏼
+Nick Henderson Thanks!
Really nice!
pretty cool !
It's cheaper to buy some clamps than the kit you used to make them.
Not if I make a video on building them and get paid for it...
+Dustin Penner Best answer!
1:47 now to make this clamp glue these woods using these clamps.. I dont have clamps man Hahaha
That was an awesome video!
Nice one!
very nice job sir - an usefull pieces in many situations
Thanks!
Amazing, thank you.
so clever dude! 😊
Just an idea, but as long as you are laminating, why not cut the slots for the threaded rod with your table saw before you glue up? Drilling angled holes and all that chiseling is really only necessary in solid stock. Slots will be square ended and will not taper in to the nut, but I don't see any disadvantage in that.
+bomaite1 Yeah that's a good idea. Thanks!
Lol make it :)
Brother i will need whole wood working factory tools for this project
And trained help........lol
zlaten zlate you can do this with a hand saw and a drill with a guide block, and honestly with a knife instead of chisels. To be completely honest, you don’t even need a guide block, just a hand held drill, the holes don’t need exact precision.
Love This Video
Excellent... Great job...
Cheers...
You go so fast , you should make them to sell !😂😂😂
just perfect thank u
good
Where is the link to the hardware kit
Ok you did a great job, but I have to point out something that I have learned; you can get hand screws all day long at Harbor Freight for between $8 and $11. The quality is great and in fact far better than the premade Jorgensen hand screws I have. I have about 30 of them. But like I started with you did a great job.
I live in Canada. No HF here.
Nice but other than the table saw, I have nothing else.
Cool. You won’t need clamps then.
Nice clamps.
Thanks!
banjo tuners the best
Nice
Hi dustin, cool clamps! I wondered for a while how these type clamps are made.
Thank you!
Хорошая работа! Подробно, познавательно. Но, к сожалению, стоимость струбцин с учетом оборудования и оснастки приближается к 500$ за единицу.
Bel viedeo, bravo !!
Great video, but you can you tell me why the holes for the thread need to be elongated like that. As you can probably tell I've never used these so have no clue. Thanks
Neil Mair thanks. The two pieces of the clamps are never parallel to each other. The elongated holes allow it to rack and twist without binding.
DIRESTA brother ? Bravo
Cool
Lol people are like "you need tools to make these". Until you master the art of telekinesis then yes, tools will be required to fabricate things ;-)
My favorite is when it's a jig for the table saw, built with a table saw and they're like "I don't have a table saw how can I build this?" ... Thank you for getting it Dalton :)!!
Awesome but what if you dont have any wood working machines to build it in the first place?
C815richard they you probably don't need woodworking clamps. Or you could buy some.
Great project sadly the kits aren't available in Australia
+Bernie Stefan-Rasmus Ahh that's too bad. I'm sure if you do some digging you could track a kit down. Lots of them out there.
very kool
good work
Thanks very much!
nice
beautiful work, but the ironic need of the fooking clamps to make clamps
If I had a $40,000 workshop the jobs done. But I bet there are many people out there that do not have ALL those fancy machines to produce a fairly basic clamp. Show how it`s done with hand tools, Thats the true skill of an artist. See how the traditional japanese craftsman do things.
Don't be an ass. I hardy needed, or have, 40k worth of tools to make these clamps. You're also showing your ignorance by suggesting hand tools are a bargain. If you feel my videos, which I provide for free, are lacking in any way, I invite you to start your own channel. I have no use for non-creative, non-talented keyboard warriors.
What an ass? You sad man. Good tools are not cheap as I know. But you do not need all those the machines that most normal people do not have to make a lovely but simple tool that will last for years. Your the same as most petty Start ups.You could have taken my comments a positive imput and maybe the public may want something else? But no !!!! PS I do have my own channel. I produce and direct on cable in Brazil, US and UK. And yes it pays a very mean buck when you give people what they want. Enjoy your time on the outskirts with your CHANNEL.
+Louis Carballo big talk. Give me a link to your show.
Also, you fuck, over 2000 likes 100 dislikes. I think this is what the people want. It's just beyond the skills of your sorry ass.
this is great! Unfortunately I can't find the kits anywhere. There currently unavailable on Amazon
mcorrade the kits cost as much as just buying the clamps. Check out rockler it even harbor freight. This is a cool build that was fun to watch and he did a good job. But if you need clamps it's just as easy to buy them already made.
Best dyi clamp I've seen yet. Where did u get hardwhear
+Scott Jones Thanks! All details are in the video description.
Caraca muito show.#
Dustin, If I don't want to use plywood for clamps what would be the best wood? I don't want it so soft that the project mars the clamps yet I also don't want the clamps marring the project. Also, you probably have answered this a million times, what it the paste you rub on your projects?
+Kenneth Johnson I've answered the finish question so many times I made a video about it and post a link to that video in the description anytime I use it in a project video. As far as wood goes, there is no perfect solution. If you're concerned about damaging your project, use soft would cauls or sacrificial pieces in between clamps. You'll want the clamps to be as strong as possible so I would recommend any straight grain hardwood.
Those are great! Is that hardware in a kit? If so where did you get them?
and the cherry laminated sides was to make Norm Abrams happy?
how much did the clamp kit cost?
