In case, if you add tweeters to your stock speakers and feel the audio in the front sounds higher. Just use the fader and fade the front a bit. This will balance the overall audio level in your car. Else the rear passengers end up listening nothing and the volume on the front would be high.
I don't like pushing the fader to the front. I keep it in the middle, the bass level is at 0 and the trebles are at +2. I also added a 12 inch sub, Along with that I have premium sound which is amazing. All I did is adjust the equalizer in a V shape, sounds amazing.
Thanks for the video! I'll be replacing the front mid bass and tweeter with Hertz DSK130.3 2-way system in my Volvo 850 Wagon next week. Looking forward to the results soon~~
Another great video, thanks! I've just spent Saturday replacing all of the speakers on my xc70 with Focal components. I used a similar method to yourself to mount the tweeters in the front doors.
Hi all. @volvosweden, have you calculated that capacitor? 400V is waaay to much, that's why it so big in size (100V would be just fine). And 4.7 micro farad....is a little low, in my opinion. A like from me for your work :). Cheers
Thanks for a great video! I heard from Volvo when you change transmission oil you will need a adaption for the automatic transmission. Vida does it. Just cheering my info.
Have you thought of adding a "under the seat sub"? I found one at my parents home, and I'm thinking of adding it. But I don't know where I want it. I would love to put it inside the dashboard somewhere and just connect it on the cables for the door speakers. But I want you to do it first and do a great video on it 😊
Awesome video Yuri! Really like the ending as well! You really take care of your Volvo and its so fun to watch :) I'm not asking you to switch, but would you consider any of the V90 models after the XC70? Personally I don't think they look as good as the XC70, but they are kind of luxurious and cool in their own way with lots of new safety features and such. Anyhow, love the videos! =)
+Chris Fredriksson I would get the New V90 XC in white. But there is a BUT. Price is too steep in my opinuon. 75,000$ Canadian is way too much. No wonder I have seen zero on the road still.
You can buy an adapter for your car radio that will work! Or have a newer Volvo like mine (2011 v70) with Bluetooth and colour screen from factory that seamlessly connects each time you get in the car.
Hello yuri, are you going to change the bass of your car as well? I have purchased a pair of JL Audio C5 tweeter for mod and want to see what if the bass is changed as well Btw, do you know the size of the bass unit? Some online shop claimed that not all bass will match the volvo Thanks!
thanks for this video. Have you any other video of soundfroof the doors? It will be necessary to improve the sound. Also changing tweeters of back doors. Cheers! and thanks again for your videos.
Excellent video. My XC70 door panel woofers are due for replacements. Have you any experience with them? I'm contemplating between Hertz and JBL. Your input would definitely be valuable.
How much of the improvement came from the capacitors? In my experience there is a big improvement going from electrolytic caps (like original fit) to the Poly cap that you used with Hertz tweeter.
Thanks! Your car is diesel right? In general, how do you think Volvo’s turbo gas engines (or diesel). Volvo to me means Longevity, Consumer Reports says long term cost of ownership is very low vs. even Jeep. But there are bad reliability comments on Edmunds, for all models & engines. I’m just concerned with the 3litre turbo I6 in the XC70. Is it the same as the S80 3.0 turn 6?
I need to replace the passenger-side front speaker on my 2011 volvo S40 T5 because it has began to rattle and this has become quite annoying. BTW, I intend to replace bought front speakers while I am at it. Which speaker brand and model would you recommend.
Hi Yuri Could you transplant a Diesel engine into a petrol car? Swap engines - big project or is it. My xc70 is petrol and I wonder how difficult it would be. Just an idea for you. Gordon in Perth Australia
Been watching alot of your vids, mainly because I'm thinking of getting a used 04 xc70. May I ask how tall you are since in this video seeing you sit in the car and how much room you have....
I've just finished upgrading the sound system in my 2015 xc70. I wish I'd made a video! I put Focal components in the 4 doors, Pioneer TS-WX710A sub under the boot floor behind the spare wheel to not lose boot space and I fitted an Audison 8.9 amp in the boot to power the Focals. I've kept the factory head unit and took an audio feed from the Volvo amp under the front seat to the Audison in the boot. The only issue I had was that I could not find woofer speaker adapters for the xc70. The woofer mounts are an odd shape and so I thought about making an mdf ring but making a shape that fitted looked like a lot of work. In the end I used the Volvo speakers, stripped the centre section out and and fitted the Focals to that. The Focals had a wide basket but this method works well. I also added sound deadening to the doors and boot floor.
Hey. I've got Basic sound system in my Volvo. I removed the plastics for tweeters and there are actually no tweeters installed in my configuration. But there are already cables with connectors. Do you maybe know, if I buy tweeters somewhere, should they work, are those cables connected to the radio unit?
Which Volvo and model year do you have? I had a look on VIDA and the 2012 xc70 lists a door wiring harness without and with premium audio. This implies the same harness is used for base and high performance audio. Base audio has no tweeters, high performance has the tweeters. The tweeters are fed from the main speakers in each door. If you take the door card off and look at the wiring colours on the woofer they should be the same as the tweeter feed you have found. If you post the wire colours you have found on here I can also look them up if that helps?. Does your car have BLIS?
The MY 2008 V70 shows these wiring colours for the front door tweeters: Front Right green/black +ve grey/black -ve Front Left violet/red +ve yellow/red -ve The wires to the woofers in the front doors should be the same colours as above too. If you are thinking of adding tweeters to your existing setup it might sound quite bright, it may be worth turning the treble down on the radio or adding additional resistance to each tweeter to quieten it down. A high level mounted tweeter often runs with a 3dB volume cut for this reason.
+luckyfeeling Should be. Take it apart and see what kind of tweeters are in there. I have ordered another pair of Hertz tweeters to install in the rear doors as well. Simple and inexpensive to improve the sound.
Это полное дерьмо, а не твитеры. Вообще, эти компактные твитеры с ферромагнитной жидкостью - это какое-то редкостное говно. Лучше покупать с массивным магнитом, рупорные.
infected mushroom, excellent choice. your work is always so clean, your videos are very informative, and fun to watch. thank you.

Anytime you upgrade from the factory speakers, you'll be very pleased. I've added pro audio mids/tweets in both of my V70's.
Any tips for when i upgrade the audio in my v70?
@@rileylindall2147 Try Focal
Another great video, thanks! I've just spent Saturday replacing all of the speakers on my xc70 with Focal components. I used a similar method to yourself to mount the tweeters in the front doors.
Nice dude👌, these tweeters came with 3-way component set I got and they do make you hear details you have not heard before!!
Юрий.! 👍👍👍Super.. Priwet tebe iz Germanii 🇩🇪..
keep up the good work
Love your video's. Already used many tips and tricks. Greetz from Holland!
Infected mushroom? My man.

I was thinking of adding a subwoofer to my high performance harman cardon in my S80. But this idea of new tweeters is somewhat good :)
+TubesWidener Do it!
Get the Dolby system, it’s awesome!
Thanks! I'm looking forward to the blower motor video, I need to do that on my v70.
In August will be done.
Thank you for sharing this!!
Love your channel 👍 Love my Volvo
Hello, can you please make a video with cleaning The egr valve on Volvo? Cheers
You should do isolatating on the door sides. Gives huge silencing
Excellent video Thanks very much 😃👌
Wasn't pretty, but the felt cleaned it up nicely, and I'll hand it to you, you're determined!
Thanks for a great video! I heard from Volvo when you change transmission oil you will need a adaption for the automatic transmission. Vida does it. Just cheering my info.
another great video. thanks for sharing
Great videos, yes, keep them coming :)
Great video! Thanks for sharing! In my opinion bedt channel on youtube about volvo! Great job!
As always, thanks for the great video, keep them coming!
Thanks! Will do in my v50
👍 Молодец, хорошо делаешь
Great video, thanks for sharing
Good job bro!

+Mattias Ågren No need for sub. The sound is good enough. Sorry

+Alofzico Legambaz I know my friend has JBL in his Toyota Venza and it's not the best. He installed Hertz which sound amazing.
Thanx for the tip. Please keep them videos coming.
this is good video :)
Steering wheel same as mine looks gorgeous in cream leather :) Ps. You've lost weight since the summer Yuri!
+Glenn McKee lost 7kg. Thx!!
I will have to find out how you did it!
How much of the improvement came from the capacitors? In my experience there is a big improvement going from electrolytic caps (like original fit) to the Poly cap that you used with Hertz tweeter.
Should have tested the new caps with the original tweeters to hear the difference. Too late.
Too bad - you chopped them up ;o)@@volvosweden
Where did you get this shirt. I need one.
What can I do if I have vibration on the door panels with normal basses ? It's the basic installation in a V50.
My xc60 has blis. Any idea if there is enough space left for this conversion? Nice video.
+Henk N not sure but you could hide the capacitor in the door.

hey, u shuld make a subwoofer and amp install for your volvo. cuse it is almost no vidios on that for modern cars.
+Pontus Ekelund maybe one day.
Nice video,...dont you have a cargo rack?
handy video
Buen trabajito pues respetaste todo lo original🤨y eso hace q se vea muy desapercibido
how about led headlights.? thank for all your good vids

I don't have an answer. Bit in my opinion not practical.
Hi do you need a capacitor if you are running a crossover? thanks
Been watching alot of your vids, mainly because I'm thinking of getting a used 04 xc70. May I ask how tall you are since in this video seeing you sit in the car and how much room you have....
I am 190cm. There is not much room on the back seat. I wish Volvo made second row slide. Not always you need all that cargo space.
Will you change the speakers in the doors? if so make a video about it! :)
I've just finished upgrading the sound system in my 2015 xc70. I wish I'd made a video! what capacitor size you used in the video ? and how much the mundorf costs ?
Is the capacitor needed?
Good Day. I wonder if that is going to work on my XC70 T6 /2012/premium sound?
Shod work
Look at it Volvo 08676892 that what I got.
4.7 uF Capacitors? What crossover frequency do they provide?
im going to also attempt auto transmission oil change at 110xxx kilometres :)
Do you have a video on removing the center console lid?
+headcas620 Yes. Browse through my videos.
I want to see the transmission oil change.
+BenMJay did it few days ago. Need to edit this week
Did you use all factory wiring or did u run a after market amplifier to the speakers
Factory wire

Do you maybe know, if I buy tweeters somewhere, should they work, are those cables connected to the radio unit?
+Aws3nicK I am not sure. You could connect a small speaker and see if there is any sound at all
Ok, thanks man. More of this videos, keep on good work! :P

I have VOLVO V70 D5, year 2008.
The MY 2008 V70 shows these wiring colours for the front door tweeters:
Front Right
green/black +ve
grey/black -ve
Front Left
violet/red +ve

where I can get this Mundorf Capacitor MCAP400-4.70 in USA ?
thanks
No idea.
I got on ebay
Impressive. Is it possible in xc60 2016?
+luckyfeeling Not yet. Working on it.
+luckyfeeling Should be. Take it apart and see what kind of tweeters are in there. I have ordered another pair of Hertz tweeters to install in the rear doors as well. Simple and inexpensive to improve the sound.
Good Day. I wonder if that is going to work on my XC70 T6 /2012/premium sound?
what dremel is that you using?
remind me, what factory system do you have and which year is your XC70?
2009. High Performance sound system.
Only needs a sub
Why did you add the capacitor ?
It acts as a filter. Filters low frequency.
I think I have Premium in mine. Really not sure.
You know it's a Volvo when you have crazy impedance ratings on the audio system.
+Ryosuke Bukuro Very true
volvosweden here's to trying to keep a stealth 3 way setup in the back of a P2 with the Premium Audio system and 8 ohm speakers with 4 ohms grouped.
Marcello Colotario howd it turn out?
宝华换赫兹,,也是没谁了!!!
Premium sound or nothing!
только дино аудио , никаких герц морель пионеров!
