This is the best film I've ever seen of Square Dance and not just because of the visual clarity of the choreography but because of the amazing performance of Jeanette Delgado. Her brilliant classical technique and energy is obvious, however it is her inner joy of dancing that is something that cannot be taught. One is either born with it or not, that is what makes her an artist. She is a special, special ballerina and I only hope she comes to the UK one day soon.

My GOD, I could *NOT* agree with you more. Jeanette is incredible. And witness her speed in the last movement! Unbelievable, with such joy and clarity.

@Russell Hayman wow I didn't know she had retired!! I heard she took leave to work on the new West Side Story film. But didn't think she was completely leaving ballet. What a loss😭❣😭

@Russell Hayman I contacted Jeanette and she confirmed she had retired - from MCB - But not necessarily from ballet!!
      Best news Ever❣❣❣

Both principals and the corps are absolutely AMAZING. If it's not going to be NYCB...Miami definitely did this justice. (Might even be better...honestly)

Beautiful, elastic, clean footwork, nice elevation and unison. Great job. Really beautiful clean batterie.

Jeanette Delgado exudes such joy in her dancing, and her purity of technique and beauty of movement just inspire joy in her audience.

Bighin GIULIO RENZO

I had not seen this before. It seemed an odd mix of music to me; but the dancing was exceptionally light, neat and clean. i thought this set of dancers was really exceptionally matched, and the video was very bright and sharp. Loved it.

WOW. I bet Mariinsky doesn't do this as well as Miami City Ballet. It's fabulous!

So is this Miami City Ballet? They're really terrific! I just watched the telecast with Pat Wilde and Nicholas Magallanes, have to admit I like the charm of having the square dance caller but the technique here (and really, for getting a good view of the steps and floor patterns, this is filmed much better) is gorgeous. Thank you for posting!

Hello Navarre Brixen. Have you a copy of Galanterie Ballet?

It's a pity that you don't have Bintley's Galanteries, it is a beautiful ballet!

I do remember it! I had a VHS copy of it, I don't remember from which TV channel I recorded it from.
But I am sure there was a video recording of it, maybe someone reads this chat and can help...

I do have a copy, it is not a very good one. I don't remember from where I got it. I promise to find out
how I can put it on You Tube. It is a beautiful ballet with glorious music.

You should research/google the ballet and then you will discover exactly why it's title is Square Dance & who the composer is! 🙄🙄🙄
