"Just me having fun in the field with a camera"..........this is so very evident on this video. Fantastic results you've had and personally I find this is one of your most inspirational videos so far. Love your work.
Watching this made my day! Thank you so much Duade for trying the Z9! I got my start with Canon, but decided to take a chance on the Z9 and I love it! I have used it for work taking basketball shots at work and also for my personal wildlife photography hobby. I really like the 20FPS raw. I also like how easy it is to control Shutter speed, Aperture, and ISO. The raw files I get are the best I have ever seen in a camera and I don't have to do much with them, unless I want to. The colors are just amazing! Great shots also, a very inspiring video! Again, thanks for listening to your fans and also thanks for trying other brands like Nikon and Sony! Cheers!
(Something I already wanted to say for a long time: The way you make the post processing of each shot transparent is amazing and absolutely exemplary.)
Great video, like they way you show the edit from RAW 👌.. Z9 looks amazing, maybe if I win the lottery 🙏.. Will have to continue using the D500 till then 😊..
A real nice one this round, Duade! Thanks for posting it & putting in all the effort to produce. It was great to see you back with your favored shorebirds & old beach haunts. Glad you & your mate had such luck with some special subjects & opportunities. You have to love it when you travel a greater distance & things go well!! Definitely appreciated all the footage from the field in this one as well - nicely done, Sir. You managed many fantastic images with that Z9. It seems like another very capable body. Cool you could give it a spin. Have a good one there & may you continue to have enjoyable sessions shooting. Best regards ~ Chris
Hey Duade. Didn't realise you were a Heads local too for a while! Amazing photos you captured on your visit. I'm woeful at knowing the names of these birds I see every day and your video was a real education. Cheers!
I saw a sign at Fingal Beach recently saying not to disturb the Beach Stone Curlews and said that there are so few of them in NSW. I was reminded that the first bird photo that I can recall taking was from my kayak with a little Nikon AW110, a water proof pocket camera. It must have been a catalyst for later taking up this wonderful past-time. The photo was of a BSC behind Sea World Resort on the Gold Coast. I have been back since I became a "serious" bird photographer but without success.

What a joyful video! I was smiling with the sheer infectious happiness shining through! Loved the huge variety of birds you captured. Just a fantastic watch. Thank you!
Z9 user here. The config you had with Wide-L and 3D-Tracking via Button is just how your mate set it up. You could also have AF on the shutter button and use AF-ON to switch from Wide-L to 3D or vice versa, or stay in 3D all the time. Just a matter of setting it up. Also, I noticed your Canony habit of shooting short bursts. With the Z9 (or any Nikon for that matter), the camera won't lock up if the buffer fills, just lower the frame rate. So if action happens, you can keep shooting. No need to have pauses between bursts if action is going down. Also, if you have a very fast card and use the HE* RAW format (which is as good as lossless visually), you can keep shooting at 20 fps indefinitely with no pauses. Hard for a Canon shooter to get used to that though, apparently ;)
Thanks for the insight and you are 100% when it comes to my habit of short bursts, I think I will need to own a camera with unlimited buffer before I can change that old habit. I will try and get the Z9 for a longer term to try the different AF options. I appreciate your input. Cheers, Duade
@@Duade I have my Z9 set up with Fn1 button as 3d tracking but sticky, ie I press it once to 3D track and press it again to stop 3D tracking and only use back button focusing. I shoot football (soccer) and certain situations this helps as they tend not to run in straight lines when you want them to, just like wildlife..... Nice to see a Canon user trying other brands and openly appreciating what each one brings to the table. My trouble now is that you are making it harder to not justify getting the 500 PF, cricket season is soon upon us here in the UK, my wallet thanks you.
@@weschilton Well, the complaint that the camera won't let you shoot anything until the entire buffer clears once it's hit the limit is one that I'm hearing specifically from my Canon shooting friends, and I think Duade mentioned that problem on his channel previously as well. I don't know if Sony has that problem too, but my Nikons never did this, between D70 and Z9, they just slow down when the buffer is full. So, unfortunately, it seems brand-specific to me, but I don't know the history of things in this regard with Canon. Did the 1D series cameras behave the same as the R5?
@@Duade Don't change what works for you, I also shoot in a similar way to you on my Z9, I also don't use the 20fps available. I cannot imagine what the file count would be on the top line Sony and Canons which can go at 30 fps or more. Guess I am going to get told off, by maiksd 🙂, for not using the full capacity of my camera.......
I’ve enjoyed watching a number of your videos all being I’m a Nikon user. I noted from this video your comment about having to hold both AF-ON and front function button to move to 3D tracking. I have my Z9 set to allow me to only have to tap the Fn1 button to jump from wide area to 3D tracking and continue holding AF-ON. Another tap of Fn1 takes me back to wide area. Fn1 set to “recall shooting function (hold) and setting f6 set to “on” for release button to use dial. These settings will ease the issue of holding two buttons. I find the option to have the Fn1 set to 3D and various other settings under this control to be very advantageous.
Having to press 2 buttons to get tracking is a self inflicted problem. Your mate needs to set up the function button Fn1 using "Recall shooting functions(Hold)" that way, you can press Fn1 once to get tracking and it will stay in that mode until you press it again whence it will revert to AF Area Large or whatever default focus you are using. If you insist on using BBF on a Z9 (a legacy issue from DSLR days), then you will still need to press and hold that button. BBF is redundant IMHO and I prefer to have my AF-On button set to switch to "Auto Area AF" which locks on to the bird if it takes off. I am able to switch between 4 focussing modes instantaneously on my Z9 by only ever pressing one button at a time. Glad you enjoyed the Z9 - wait till you try it with the 600 f/4 with integrated 1.4x 🤪
The 500mm f/5.6 PF is a fantastic lens, isn't it? It's the best lens I've ever owned. Anyway, I watch your videos more for the birds than the gear, and what a great collections of birds you managed to photograph. Good on you!
Wonderful opening sequence, perfect day, the video clips, the stills, Duade over the moon happy. A really beautiful edit. It seemed every bird was at your command. The effort you put in to make these very special vlogs is so appreciated. And GS, one of the best on F&P back in day.
Duade, wonderful shots you took of the NSW area. I really envy you in the number of species nearest you. I live in the mid-West of the USA, and I have only caught sparrows (house, song, and dark-headed), woodpeckers, doves, European starlings, ducks, geese, and an occasional barn owl. I thank you for sharing the views, birds, and the Nikon mini-equipment review.
Wow what a time! Loved seeing all those different birds - especially the curlews. Your excitement and enthusiasm is infectious. Loved the little emu wren - I'd never heard of or seen them before. A little beauty. I bet you were chuffed too to see your images up on an information board about birds - that is truly exciting. If ever I get to that particular space, I'll know something behind the images on the board. This video was definitely worth waiting for!!!!! Loved it.
Hello Duade, really, really nice photos! I‘m always fascinated by the beautiful areas in which you are around. I think one day I should have a phototrip to Australia. Thank you for taking us with you on your tours! Greetings Uwe Frankfurt a.M., Germany
You have incredible birds in Australia. I hope to visit someday. I enjoy my Z9, and equally enjoy my wife’s Canon. I think the two have outstanding color science. Great video take care.
The AF issue you mention is due the way you set up the camera. You have to use the AF + AF ON when assigning the AF mode to what ever button you wish. Your friend set it up with just AF not the + ON. When you use the correct seeing, you only need 1 button to use the mode assigned and have it continuously AF while holding the button
I was thinking of the same thing. However I dun have a Z9. Used a D500 and D850, both are just using one button, super convenient as I can decide the AF area with AF on with just one Fn button. I really miss the Nikon method (using Sony now).
I appreciate your joy for life and the obeisance you offer each of the manufacturers of these amazing devices they produce. Many years ago I was a hunter we ate what we killed mostly out of necessity. As I got older my heart softened and I could no longer bring myself to hunt. Now my weapon is a nikon D850 my prize, photos I share with friends and family. From Texas much respect and appreciation.
G’day Duade, Always great vids with camera info and original raw shot and post prod image. I am really happy that you had a really excellent day, so often than not a normal day is disappointing as subjects are few and far between. Its good to see you out there and having an AWESOME time. Send me some of that positivity as i need a feel good factor asap. Keep up the good work. Ciao Phil Davson
Duade, this could be my favorite video of yours, yet. Not for your impression of the Z9 but for the sheer joy in your voice. What a magnificent day you and your mate, Gerard, had! Awesome! The swear NOT heard 'round the world. LOL. How did you contain yourself when the gull photo bombed the Beach-stone Curlew? All of your edited images are so beautiful. You're an inspiration. I need to get out more. Thank you! -Cathy, NJ, USA
What an amazing bird list of shots: Eastern Bristlebird, Eastern Curlew, Southern Emuwren, Beach Stone Curlew and Godwit ready to fly home. The trip and passion for wildlife photography came over really well. Thanks Duade 😊
Congrats, Duade, on seeing your photos being used in such a nice and positive way, encouraging others to enjoy birds and wildlife as you do. Some really nice shots today, by the way. I think it especially fine that a friend is out there with you; makes any outing that much more rewarding and memorable. Cheers.
Daude, I'm so glad I came across your site. I commend you on the remarkable images you captured. Masterful photography which was also educational for me! With the beaches close to me here in Florida USA, which gimbal setup were you using on the Skimmer Ground Pod II, as it appeared to support the weight of the Z9 and lens with no trouble. THANK YOU! I look forward to viewing more of your great photography.
G'day I currently use Sirui gimbals which work well, I was using this smaller gimbal Sirui PH10 Gimbal geni.us/UBEct Code: DUADEPATON for 5% off to get me close to the ground. Good luck, Cheers, Duade
Thanks Blaine, yes, a bit expensive for me also, I look forward to seeing what the Z8 does and hopefully a D500 mirrorless at some stage. Cheers, Duade
@@Duade Seen some good stuff out of the D500. I'm betting the Z8 is going to be amazing. I always enjoyed the rendering of Nikon lenses and the 500 PF looks special.
Another great video, thank Duade. Sometimes we become oblivious to the thing around us that are common. The Beach Stone Curlew and red-capped plovers are common for me and I often walk right past them, much like the Cassowaries. It pays to rethink and not overlook the obvious sometimes. I have photographed, only once, a bar-tailed godwit here in FNQ but haven't yet seen another. The session on your afternoon outing was fantastic, all species I would like to see one day and you could just tell by your smile how stoked you were with that session.
Just watched your video, great work again. Good to get overall view of where your shooting from with surrounding. I’m had just came in from afternoons looking for birds, not much around today, but I did manage a Bar Tailed Godwit up here in the North of Scotland. Get them along the shoreline quite often. My capture no up to yours but I take inspiration from your approach. Thank you
Im so envious of the birds you saw, the delight on your face just made this video one of my favs...I can only wish for a Nikon Z9 way out of my price range..I shoot with a old Nikon D7000 and D300 with a 150-500mm lens.I know ive had a good day out when my arm is sore from holding it haha...Love your work!
What days you had there, Duade! Well worth the long drive, I'd say. I'm happy to learn it wasn't a 14 hour drive one way!!! Such nice photos of the Bristlebird, no wonder you were extatic. And the Beach Thick-knee photos was a real feast as well, as were the ALL the other photos of all the other lovely bird-moments. (The goodbye-chirps from the Bristlebird was cute as h**l🥰)
Great video and, I thought, some really nice photographs. I especially liked the way you presented the RAW images and then framed them and showed the transformation to a finished image with post processing. Excellent presentation.
What a beautiful day you had! I especially liked the shots showing a bit more habitat, like the Eastern Bristlebird at 15:30 and the Eastern Yellow Robin at 16:43. Thanks for the inspiring video - it gives me something to aim for.
Duade, good to see you trying out different gear. Having shot with a number of Nikon DSLRs and now owning a Z50, what impresses me is their matrix metering, which always seems to peg the exposure better then other brands; and their raw files which seem to have a beautiful tone curve applied to them straight out of camera. The word that comes to mind is lush…The raw files have this lush, rich look to them and they respond so well to editing in LR. Having shot so much with Canon, when i pick up my Nikon i feel like i’m somehow cheating. ;-)
Thanks Craig, I am very happy to finally use Nikon after all these years, the cameras and lenses feel very well made and I was very impressed with its performance and the results, I hope to make a contact at Nikon Australia so I can try some other gear for a longer period. Cheers, Duade
I shoor the same combination having used the Nikon Big bodies for many years. It is not a camera you take on vacation to Europe. I take my Z6. I have changed to Sony and Fuji for a short while as Nikon was behind on the Mirrorless development, when the Z9 came out I changed back. I know the ergonomics and the menu system. The Focus system works perfectly well if you come from a Nikon DSLR background and realise that Subject detection and eye detection AF is not the magic bullet to all situations. Even with Sony. The 500 pf is an incredible lens. Great work and enjoy the video.
Erik Normark is know for his pin sharp nature videos in -20 f climate in Sweden and he used and swears by his Nikon Z6 and 70-200 Nikon lense. A multiplier is used for more distance but only on rare occasions. It's no wonder you like the Z9 for nature. Nature videographers want their "Pin-sharp" results on the subject at hand. I've seen Erik shoot in rain, snow sub zero weather. And knight shots come through filming the aurora borealis.
What a great session, Duade! I am so pleased that you had a great time on the beautiful south coast of NSW. It’s an area I am pleased to be able to call home.
I'm not sure how you have the Z9 setup, but you don't have to press two buttons for Animal Tracking in any of the focus modes. I use the AF-On for back button focus and that's the only button you need to press. Glad you enjoy working with the Z9!
Thanks Gunny, yes, it appears there are lots of ways to set it up. The camera had wide area tracking with one button, so when you saw the red box and tracking it was with one button, but to engage 3d tracking without the red box I held down the FN button and AF on. How do you use 3d tracking on yours? Cheers, Duade 👍
@@Duade Hey Duade - I've seen a few people setup their Z9 with the shutter button activating AF- Area Mode Wide Area - Large with Animal Detection selected, then once they've achieved subject lock-on, they press the AF-On, which they have setup for 3D Tracking. I've seen this used by folks that are more landscape or hybrid photographers, and are not as experienced in wildlife photography. I find this process totally unnecessary. Since I only photograph Wildlife my setup is straight forward; I'm always in Focus Mode AF-C, AF-On Botton focus, and Animal Detection is alway on. As far as my Focus Area Mode it depends on the subject. I sometimes useAF-Area Mode Wide Area - Large, but I would say that I mostly use 3D Tracking, which is active when I press the AF-On for back button focus. I can switch through all AF-Area Modes pretty quickly, so if one isn't right for the scenario, I change it on the fly to adapt. Depending on what lens I'm using, I programmed my Fn2 button on the camera body to switch to Single-Point AF for tight spots, or the L-Fn2 on Z mount glass. ~ Regards, Gunny
@@gunny2044 Thanks Gunny, sounds like there are a number of ways to set it up, I look forward to getting hold of the camera again one day to try these out. Cheers, Duade
Awesome Duade. The way you talk about a bird and describe the habitat is so affectionate and humanizing. It fills our heart with pure joy. Keep this honesty intact man. You are wonderful as ever.
Thoroughly enjoyed your adventure! Thank you for yet another high quality, laid back video. Inspired by you and a few other masters on RUclips, I finally took the plunge and bought a Tamron 150-600mm G2 lens to pair with my D500... and boy am I enjoying shooting the great Canadian outdoors in British Columbia. Loved your idea of donating pictures to wildlife parks... I think I will do exactly that :)
I need to add to Doug's comments, really like the way you show the raw vs cropped finished shot. Helps all us newbies through the process. I now own a Z9 beast myself and there is so much to learn. Look forward to more of your vids. Cheers....
Brilliant video Duade. Glad you liked the set up you were using. I believe the AF on the Z9 is faster without the external monitor, not sure if you noticed. I have the 500mm PF combined with a D500 and love that combo. As you say, it’s so light for a 500mm lens and it can be carried around all day. I will eventually get the 1.4 TC and it works great on that lens. What I love about your videos is that you show the crop area and then the image gradually changes to your edit - brilliant. Keep up the great work you are doing.
Amazing video Duade! I didnt know you get the Beach Thick-knee in Australia too! Here in India we can only find them in a small set of Islands called Anadaman and Nicobar!
I always like watching videos where other brand photographers try out the Z9 to see what they think. Being a Nikon Z9 shooter it’s interesting to hear their thoughts. Sometimes their results don’t even come close to mine. Even though this wasn’t a review of the Z9 your, through the lens, video shows exactly what I see through my viewfinder. I hope you are able to get the 600 TC and Z9 to try out. I’ll be looking forward to that video. That lens is a game changer. Have a great day.
G'day, I do shoot in bursts as a habit from years of using Canon and smaller buffers, the Nikon has an almost unlimited buffer so I didnt really have to worry. I shoot in full frame and crop in post, I don't want to miss a wing or any part of bird. Cheers, Duade
Love watching your videos in the field Duade as well as your RAW process before/after screenshots - I'm someone who crops meticulously for composition too. I shoot with a Z50 & Sigma 100-400 which is super light and great for travels. Obviously my AF cannot compete with the Z9 or indeed many of the latest cameras, but I think I'm only missing 20% of the fastest action shots, but in my favour is an ultra light travel kit with excellent IQ at 400mm and the great APS-C sensor on the Z50 with tons of shadow recovery. I really hope Nikon chuck out an R7 competitor this year with 30+MP for me to step up my game. Keep up the superb work, regards from Bristol UK.
Thank you for sharing your hands-on experience! Love your sessions, envy you your bird habitats in your part of the world. The Z9 is definitely too big and heavy for my taste. Love the Nikon lenses, though. Thanks, Duade, for your wonderful pictures!
Wow! That looks like an awesome day of birding! Some gorgeous shots you got there. That smile on your face tells it all ^^ Thanks for bringing us along :)
great video as always mate, and to choose a photo is impossible, because all of them was amazing. But the bird i loved most was the Southern Emu-wren. What a beautiful bird. Wishing you a great week. Cheers, Bjoern
I use a Z9 with a 500 F4. I bought the F4 long before the 5.6 PF was released and it is still with me several camera bodies later. It is also heavy. I love the look you can get with a good 500. My 1.4 TC is now very usable with the Z9 it used to be reserved for other lenses. I loved the video however for the birds. I live on the coast and your day looked absolutely brilliant for shooting. I went looking for emu wrens a couple of days ago. We mostly saw other birds, but the emu wrens were in the area. Your shots of the emu wren are really impressive. I will definitely keep trying. I enjoy the Z9 a lot. It has its own personality and has required quite a few changes in the way I do things. There are so many functions but the techniques you used are exactly the ones I favour for birding.
A great video and amazing shots! This weak I photographed at beaches many times to! But in Germany and Poland, not Australia xD, Altough it's pretty cold here, it just great fun to lay down in the sand and enjoy the birds. And it's also great to use my new R5 in the field that much! One question: I didn't noticed pullsing yet, but if I wil do, do the settings for the R7 to reduce pullsing work on the R5?
I think you would really enjoy using Z8+800 combo for smaller birds & Z8+400 combo for larger birds & super light run & gun(both with or without 1.4 tc).
Really enjoyed (as always) your presentations. I very much enjoy the way you show the raw files, metadata, and the fade to final image. Many of the birds (not all) you shot in this video have relatives on the Texas coast (and we might be on a first name basis .... well sort of). I shoot the Nikon Z9 and agree with all of your comments as fair and straight to the point. My friends shoot the Sony A1 and Canon R3 and R5. From the start, I have "wished" that Nikon could simplify the AF arrangement (i.e. one button) - but that said, it is something you get better at with time. Everyone I know loves the 500mm PF (weight and sharpness being the primary pluses) and have several friends shooting the new 600mm f/4 TC (too rich for my blood) and the 800mm PF. 800 is also super sharp, and "lighter" than the f-mount, but over 6 lbs. Hand hold-able, but within limits. You had a great day shooting. Thanks for sharing. Love your content no matter what gear you shoot with. No matter to me. Keep them coming.
Really nice video 👍 you should make more from the field ones. Its really satisfying to watch it 👍 Can i ask you about setup you used to film that episode? Crispy clear and awesome quality. Im impressed. Thank you David
Great video! Once you acquire focus With the Fn button in 3D and it starts tracking you can release the Fn button and it will continue to track. If you lose Focus just pump the AF button to re acquire.
As a hard core fisherman in my old life,I saw again and again, with a storm approaching, fishing was fantastic (fish got really active) but behind the storm, nothing. I feel birds are also very active with a storm approaching, but behind the storm, forget it. Anyway, I'm a Canon guy, but I know that Nikon, and Sony make some fantastic stuff too 👍

Fn1 set to “recall shooting function (hold) and setting f6 set to “on” for release button to use dial. These settings will ease the issue of holding two buttons. I find the option to have the Fn1 set to 3D and various other settings under this control to be very advantageous.
Thanks Jim, sounds like a good option, if I get the camera again I will be sure to try it, Cheers, Duade
Outstanding! Thanks for bringing us along!
That Emu-Wren was amazing! Fantastic trip. Thanks for sharing and please do more of these! I love your in-field videos.
Oh you were right in my backyard. That’s where I’ve taken most of my bird photos. Lovely video, thanks is Duade
Wonderful opening sequence, perfect day, the video clips, the stills, Duade over the moon happy. A really beautiful edit. It seemed every bird was at your command. The effort you put in to make these very special vlogs is so appreciated. And GS, one of the best on F&P back in day.
Thanks Joan, yes, was great to catch up with Gerard, we met via F&P so I am very thankful for that. Cheers, Duade
Thanks for sharing another wonderful video like always 👍🤗
Thanks mate, it was a lot of fun, Cheers, Duade
Next level storytelling, it was a pleasing start of my morning, thanks for alle the effort you have put into this short film.
Your enthusiasm is infectious! Thank you!
Greetings Uwe
Frankfurt a.M., Germany
What a great day. Love it when your videos pop up.
Simply a wonderful sharing your experiences. Thanks
You have incredible birds in Australia. I hope to visit someday. I enjoy my Z9, and equally enjoy my wife’s Canon. I think the two have outstanding color science. Great video take care.
amazing video sir . thanks for Shareing
I love the fact that you show the full RAW image, as well as what your final image looks like.
Another great video, thanks for sharing your amazing images! I always learn something from your work! Thank you
G’day Duade, Always great vids with camera info and original raw shot and post prod image.
Thank you, it was an awesome outing and very enjoyable, Cheers, Duade
Congrats, Duade, on seeing your photos being used in such a nice and positive way, encouraging others to enjoy birds and wildlife as you do. Some really nice shots today, by the way. I think it especially fine that a friend is out there with you; makes any outing that much more rewarding and memorable. Cheers.
Thanks Jim, totally agree, it was so much fun to catch up and have that shared experience. Cheers, Duade
Superb video, wonderful images, and awesome everything :)
Excellent photos and advice thanks Duade
Oh I’m in love with that New Holland Honeyeater (15:43). Beautiful bird!
Honestly the best bird photography videos on RUclips! Thank you for sharing these amazing moments with us, truly inspiring.
Wow, thank you!
The Z9 is out of my pay grade, but it looks like a load of fun to use. Brilliant stuff, as always.
Z9 is the best camera I've used in a long time. Love it.
Love this in the field content!
Great to hear James, I am glad you are enjoying it, Cheers, Duade
I photographed my first New Holland honey eater on the weekend, what amazing markings and colours
I love the fact you couldn't stop grinning!! Awesome video 👍
Nothing beats Duade having a fun day out in the field with a camera. Love it !! Cheers mate !
Just brilliant as usual, would there be any chance of you doing a video on how you edit your photos. Looking forward to your next vid.
Cheers
Tony
Thanks Tony, yes, I need to, Cheers, Duade
What days you had there, Duade! Well worth the long drive, I'd say. I'm happy to learn it wasn't a 14 hour drive one way!!! Such nice photos of the Bristlebird, no wonder you were extatic.
And the Beach Thick-knee photos was a real feast as well, as were the ALL the other photos of all the other lovely bird-moments.
(The goodbye-chirps from the Bristlebird was cute as h**l🥰)
Thanks Pia, yes, it was a lot of fun and so many birds for one day which was wonderful. Cheers, Duade
Thanks Jack, it is my pleasure, yes, I too liked those shots, Cheers, Duade
Really great video again and really great pictures!
Super cool encounter with the Beach Stone Curlew! Almost looks like the Night-Heron's we get here
Erik Normark is know for his pin sharp nature videos in -20 f climate in Sweden and he used and swears by his Nikon Z6 and 70-200 Nikon lense.
Thanks Keith, it sure is a lovely spot, Cheers, Duade
Wow Duade! I never would have thought! AF Looks real sticky even with the 500 PF and 1.4 TC!
Awesome Duade. The way you talk about a bird and describe the habitat is so affectionate and humanizing. It fills our heart with pure joy. Keep this honesty intact man. You are wonderful as ever.
So nice of you
Great shots and video you were lots of fun 😊😊
Cheers....
your smile says it all, a fantastic day...well done.
Really enjoyed this video Duade, gorgeous images and can’t believe the Southern Emu Wren turned up and you got a lovely clean image of him. 😊 cheers!
Amazing video Duade! I didnt know you get the Beach Thick-knee in Australia too! Here in India we can only find them in a small set of Islands called Anadaman and Nicobar!
Awesome video. Your actions of birding enjoyment make my day. Thanks for sharing this wonderful moment 🙏
Love the video. Were you shooting bursts? Were you using full sensor and croppung later or crop mode. Thank you
G'day, I do shoot in bursts as a habit from years of using Canon and smaller buffers, the Nikon has an almost unlimited buffer so I didnt really have to worry. I shoot in full frame and crop in post, I don't want to miss a wing or any part of bird. Cheers, Duade
Just loved this video, really inspired me to make the time to “get out there” and do some heathland photography, thank you.
Thanks Sigurd, my pleasure, I agree, Nikon are making some fantastic lenses, wish we had them on Canon. Cheers, Duade
Looks like you had a really fun day and glad you got to experience the Z9. Now send me my Godwits ! missing them here in Alaska lol
Wow! That looks like an awesome day of birding! Some gorgeous shots you got there. That smile on your face tells it all ^^
Thanks for bringing us along :)
great video as always mate, and to choose a photo is impossible, because all of them was amazing. But the bird i loved most was the Southern Emu-wren. What a beautiful bird.
Wishing you a great week.
Cheers, Bjoern
Fantastic video! As someone from North England I must admit I laughed when you turned around to show those dark clouds😂
You have such interesting fauna in Oz. That red-capped plover reminds me of our own critically-endangered piping plover in size and activity.
Beautiful bird photos👍
A very enjoyable video. You did a great job mastering the Z9 in such a short time.
Thanks mate, it was a lot of fun, I look forward to the next time. Cheers, Duade
As a Canon user, I'm glad Nikon users get a proper camera! They deserve it!
I think you would really enjoy using Z8+800 combo for smaller birds & Z8+400 combo for larger birds & super light run & gun(both with or without 1.4 tc).
Beautiful video and and pictures.
Great video I got a real kick out of the gull photo bomb, that was priceless.
Really nice video 👍 you should make more from the field ones. Its really satisfying to watch it 👍
Can i ask you about setup you used to film that episode? Crispy clear and awesome quality. Im impressed. Thank you David
Another great video. Enjoyed the trip with you and seeing the variety of birds you photographed. Thanks!
Anyway, I'm a Canon guy, but I know that Nikon, and Sony make some fantastic stuff too 👍
Duade is much happier with Nikon in hand. 😎
