Glad the new head is working good! Old Glenn was pretty impressive flying along through that field, especially with all the foxtail you had to deal with. I'll bet that reel tine to the head felt real good. Everybody is rained out here right now too. Thanks for the video Tim! Hope you have a good one my friend!
Thankyou Evan! Sorry I'm late to this but better late late never right 😆. I got done with harvest last night it's raining today and I'm not doing a dam thing productive lol. Glen really can get through some tough conditions, I never realized how much better my cylinder setup was until cutting beans with my brother in the L2. I managed to get 150 to 200 more bushels picked than he did that day in about 6 hours of run time. If he when any faster he would plug his cylinder. The foxtail just wouldn't feed for him. The real time actually took a shunk of meat of my head lol I've still got a scab from it. But that the worse anyone got hurt this harvest so I'll take it as a win 😆 thanks for watching Evan I've got a couple to catch up on your way.
ruclips.net/video/InqR5xZs9H4/видео.htmlsi=DUV_stqqScdOIIkO There ya go cousin Scott 😆. It's a pretty simple process really. Especially just getting the outer shieve off. The bushing need to be done with a press. I was able to get mine out with a hammer and punch but ruined a new one trying to put it back In, and the bearing is just a bearing 😆. But one thing to note about that. On mine the bearing holder was lose on the outer bearing, and you can't get that holder anymore. I put excessive amounts of red lock tight in there the 1st time i changed that bearing about 6 years ago, and it outlasted the bearing 😆. This time I did the same thing. Obviously 😆 if you got any other questions don't hesitate to ask.
Great video, thanks for sharing! Growing up as a kid, spent many hours falling asleep on the floor of the M2 only to be awakened on the headlands so dad could engage the unload auger. Good times!
Lol that's awesome, some of our most cherished memories are made during the most trivial situations it seems, I have a simular story but it's about falling asleep on the cool fuel tank during a hot day on the 190xt open station lol looking at it now I can't imagine how uncomfortable it was 😅
Amazing video Tim, seems that red head is eating them right along!! So how long was it before you had that plug after saying that in the cab 🤦😳 That little winch was pretty slick!! I laughed so hard at Bob, and the camera while you were standing there motioning him over 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 You two are a hoot!! Man when you were showing the pulley issue, and panned around the building...AC stuff for days 😁😁😁😁 The shots of both of y'all harvesting there and the coal trails were amazing!!! I loved that!! 😁😁😁 You can really tell the difference in speed in the last clip!! 😉😉😉 Man yeah you are going to have to show us his 7000 sometime soon!! I hope you let us in on the soil PH management 😉 Thank you for bringing us along!! Hope you got to finish up harvest!! 😁😁😁🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🌱🌱🌱👍👍👍
The plug was a couple days later actually 😆. And good ol Bob, I'm plugged up with a storm coming and here he is "ooo look at the bunny guys" 😂😂😂 We've hit so much allis stiff is become a problem at this point lol let me tell ya that was amazing running with both combines I've got some more footage I'm gonna make into its own video. I'll get the 7000 videoed soon. Thanks for always being here my friend.
Love the operation, Quick suggestion on the lights, it looks like you bought "spot" lights as opposed to "flood" spec lights. That would help on the front with the center lighting up, also on the side it would light up a much bigger area as opposed to a circle 30ft away from the combine.
Thankyou sir! I bought a 20 pack of these lights on Amazon for $69.99 with free shipping 😆 after replacing all but 2 lights on the combine and adding 1 I've got 12 left and it takes 4 of them to use the same amount of power as one of the factory light🤦♂️. But your right food lights would definitely be better on the sides but fir the price and power user of these I'll just slap a couple more on there 😆. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Yes I sure am. And long fingers sieves. I have the beans sieves but my beans are always to big to fall through the holes correctly. I end up with more clean grain coming through the returns than I do into the hopper with that one 🤦♂️.
Biggest thing that helped the feeding on my 1020 head was 'sharpening' the auger flighting. With age and use they get a big radius worn on the working edge. Grind it back square and feeds waaaaayyyy better!!
Those trees in the fence row are called firewood AKA cut the sons of b****** down you're exactly right I think it's like over a million dollar combine couldn't cut those weeds where are there still a lot of beans but the old I called Silver Surfer gets the job done
In the past few years I've cleared around 20 miles of fence line. The farm was neglected by revers for almost 30 years. I simply haven't made it to this field yet 😆. And it yielded 45bpa some how. I figured out would be around 15 or 20. But when your talking $22 a bushel I'll take 45bpa.
Dad had a new Holland tr70, he said there's no way he'd go into this green weeds with it lol. I remember a a kid though when that thing plugged it was a half a day adventure getting the roter unplugged 🤦♂️ that's one thing about the gleaners when you do plug them is pretty darn simple to unplug, comparatively speaking.
I was wondering if that was Bugs Bunny running around in your field 🐰 what's up Doc, was Elmer Fud there too, lol that winch gotta come in handy many times over, have you ever heard of Prairie farm dairy? I boy their milk all the time, your crops looks great Tim 🚜🇺🇸 id never call you tiny Tim I couldn't see you playing a ukulele, Tim the tool man is definitely you lol, the other day I was at a gas station in Hawley MN and I saw a guy that looked like you, it's funny that everyone has a twin, Hawley is about 25 miles east of Fargo, you told me a while ago that you worked out in Williston and that's not really far from the badlands, I don't know if you have went through Valley City ND, thanks for the video Tim, I forgot to mention that I collect quite a few of diecast farm toys, I do have few Allis Chalmers tractors a couple of the D14 one of them comes with a loader and a 6070 this one has a open station with a loader then a 1/64 scale diecast Allis Chalmers & a bunch of Olvers, there's a place in Morton Grove Illinois that i have ordered them from, ive Always wanted see the state of Illinois, im sure that theres plenty of places to go then Chicago
😆 Elmer was the guy being the camera 😆 I've never been to valley city, but if there's a place worse than Wiliston i don't wanna go 😆 we've got a nice collection of die-cast too, and yes Illinois is nice if you can look past Chicago ot shitcago as we call it 😆
Except for the 1980 interest rates, I would be very happy to jump into the time machine and go back. The Carter grain embargos hurt but in a lot of ways, times were better.
I was born in 87, but I know just what your taking about, I grew up on a struggling farm in the 90, from problems that were directly effected by what I would call anti small farm regulations, and non common sense decisions.
What cylinder upgrades have you done? My m2 has a spike tooth cylinder in it and weedy beans aren't a problem but grass can be a different story if I don't pay attention
I've got trimpe rasp bars and I made fingers plates to give me thrashing area, so I can run the concave open farther and use less rps slowing splits down.
Hey Tim, just a question for ya. Do you have any idea where I could get a pto shaft for an allis chalmers 2-10? I broke one of my buddies and can’t find one.
@christianjoiner5370 ooo 😆 a 210 the dash threw me off, Google Bill Deppe AC tractor salvage in Iowa, there's a good chance he'll have one and can ship it if need be.
We had an old m2 with no reverser on it, i was only about 7 years old the first time i had to help dad unplug the feeder, did that many times until i was 14 then te old gleaner gave up and seized the engine solid changing heads. Terrible engine in those m2’s then we went to a 1660 Case ih with the cummins. What an upgrade wow. Ran that from 2002 to 2013 then got a 7120 case and well that isn’t even a comparison. We do still run the 1660 as a backup combine and run it every year. Good old combine but not even close to the 7120. I could probably eat the 1660 with the 7120. But old girl does the job.
@bradenconway9066 you lost me at, terrible engine in the M2s, 😆 you may have had bad luck with yours, but the 301 was and still is one hell of an engine in any application allis chalmers used it. Cheep and easy to overhaul too. It's definitely my favorite small block engine from the Era.
Ours died and completely locked up at 2222hrs. Biggest problem with them is they sat at an angle in the m2 and oil didn’t get perfect into them. My uncle has 2 l2’s and way better machine. I dunno to each their own. I’m a CIH and a gleaner guy so all i can say is i like watching your videos
I can’t imagine how bad the agco header was if you think a 1020 is a good header haha. Oh well keep plugging along and if it works for you that’s great. I would rather burn my combine down than run a 1020 anymore haha
That being said for good standing crops like wheat, durum and canola the 1010 case header was just fantastic. We have had almost 0 problems with our 1010 besides a few sections and guards but thats to be expected.
The biggest problem with the gleaner header was the grain loss there is to much distance between the sickle and the auger, in good conditions it wound lose 5bpa or more. Fundamental design flaws really 😆. This case ih head is an 820.... idk if that makes it better or worse than a 1020, but it's doing OK once I got the fingers in the auger timed right it quit wrapping up and plugging on me so I definitely appreciate that. 😆
Lol I've heard it all through the years about not being able to harvest certain fields. And every year Glenn just eats through it all and still sucks the soybeans out of the field. 😆 I've never really seen the new combines do green material and foxtail but from the reactions of farmers around here that run them, it seems that most of them in fact will not do this 😆 🤣 😂
A 20ft would only be 4 more feet and I'm picking in 3rd gear with this one. There's no doubt in my mind that I get it through the combine. I have a tendency to start a little to early and push it a little to late though lol with the 16ft head I don't have to be as careful when it's tough.
@TimothyFluegel we run 30footers on 2 lexion combines ones a 475 and the other is a 575 both are about 300hp going anywheres from 2 to 3.5mph and let me tell ya we were doing a customer's beans yesterday and it really seemed like we were just combining hay with 60 bushel beans mixed in
Great shots of the dual Gleaners gettin' it done! Good to see the red header working out.
Thankyou Jazzerbyte, I'm happy with how it all turned out.
Wow look how clean very nice. I do enjoy watching the old Gleaners making dust. Thanks for the vid.
Your welcome thanks for watching!

Well thankyou and welcome to the channel. I hope I can keep ya entertained lol.
Man I wished you had done a video on variable speed repair! Enjoyed watching y’all harvest soybeans!

You make the videos very interesting Tim. Go Gleaner combines. To bad their not painted ALLIS CHALMERS ORANGE !
Thankyou Dennis! At least they painted the rims orange, just enough color to stand out and say allis chalmers 😆
good video the old ones doing a good job
Thankyou Peter!
Lookin good Tim. We ran 4 lights on top of the cab in front.
Are you running long finger chaffers?
Yes I sure am. And long fingers sieves. I have the beans sieves but my beans are always to big to fall through the holes correctly. I end up with more clean grain coming through the returns than I do into the hopper with that one 🤦♂️.

love it!!! Much better than my weed patch! What do you hope to get per bu.?
Thankyou! Organic beans are right around $22 right now
We ran an L3 for many years, and it always seemed to do weeds better than the neighbors JD that was 20 years newer back when they did ours custom.
