I just know from watching vocal analysis videos that Taeyeon uses better singing technique. But technique is only a small portion what makes an artist good. IU has incredible talent not just at singing, and I prefer her singing to any others due to the passion and emotion she can wrap the listener in, but the fact that she writes and produces her own songs and is an amazing actress on top of that, to me makes her the most talented artist in the world right now.

they both explored different Genres but Taeyeon explored even more and her voice has something that's calling my ear I mean IU's songs like: Blueming, 22 and 8 is so cleansing whereas Taeyeons: I, Why, Rain, Starlight, 11:11, a poem titled you, weekend and INVU is beyond cleansing it's more like healing and addicting.
IU is a great singer with a beautiful voice, but Taeyeons voice itself is a gift from god, it suits all kind of genres, probably the most versatile singer out there.

I just realized that Hayeon really does sound like a mix of both these women. I'm not going to choose. Taeyeon has the emotive diva voice and IU has that intimate sweet voice that just pulls you in an hugs you. I love them both as performers.

Taeyeon can be more flexible in different genres of music. Even when she was in her early 20, she sounded like a woman who has been through sorrowful events. And even now, in her latest album ‘Purpose’, several mature songs like Better Babe, LOL (rock-ballad) seem to be made only for her and only she can convey the songs in the most perfect manner. All of Taeyeon’s songs require sotisphicated techniques and feelings and thats why she is the KING ☺️ King vocal King Taeyeon. IU, she has an airy voice and creative songs that may suit ppl’s preferences. But in terms of vocal and techniques, Taeyeon undoubtedly performs better. Taeyeon is good but IU voice really soft, while listening to IU vocal will feel peaceful. Taeyeon singing with technique but IU singing like talking a story with you.

Both are amazing and absolutely talented but I will always go for IU. Her voice is so sweet and soothing. It relaxes my mind. Friday is my cup of tea and she's the only one who can sing it best.

I just realized that Hayeon really does sound like a mix of both these women.
I'm not going to choose. Taeyeon has the emotive diva voice and IU has that intimate sweet voice that just pulls you in an hugs you.

When Taeyeon has better technic in singing style, IU also has sweet soft emotional voice . They slay in their own ways. Should not compare this Kpop vocal gods.

I appreciate both and listen to both. I think both are very talented artists. But in my opinion IU's better. Not only in composing, but also singing. I feel like she's adding way more color to everything she's singing. And many variations. And her control over her voice is ✨

Taeyeon can be more flexible in different genres of music. Even when she was in her early 20, she sounded like a woman who has been through sorrowful events. And even now, in her latest album ‘Purpose’, several mature songs like Better Babe, LOL (rock-ballad) seem to be made only for her and only she can convey the songs in the most perfect manner. All of Taeyeon’s songs require sotisphicated techniques and feelings and thats why she is the KING ☺️ King vocal King Taeyeon. IU, she has an airy voice and creative songs that may suit ppl’s preferences. But in terms of vocal and techniques, Taeyeon undoubtedly performs better. She makes the songs she covered hers and allows no one to cover her songs easily 😆 Her voice is warm and touched and deep and aesthetic and PERFECT im no joking 😀
And yet she struggles to sing Friday, those opening seconds are grating. Taeyeon is no doubt a great singer, but to say she has more variety than IU is just factually inaccurate. IU's full discography has a massive variety of genres and there are songs that IU slays that Taeyeon struggles with. The inverse is also true, IU would struggle with some of Taeyeon's songs. Two different singers, two different skill sets. Alot of it comes down to opinion, the but the variety of genres performed is an objective statement and IU has performed as many if not more genres than Taeyeon.

IU has a unique voice.. you can easily understand what she sung even if you don't understand the lyrics.. she can communicate by just singing.. She has a powerful voice that no one could ever defeat it🥰
I heard Taeyeon's voice first before I saw her face in the drama Hong gil dong, I dont even know SNSD at that time. I paused the drama just to find who is the Ost singer and I was shooked when i found she was just 18-19 at that time LOL
