I would rather we do nothing now and leave us more room to navigate the coming years than make bad signings that force tough decisions later. We have so many players that are still growing. We want to make sure we keep the right ones. We also can't discount that there were mistakes made on day one of free agency. We can capitalize on that. We have seen the going rates, and now have leverage with teams that need some relief or are feeling the pressure to compete. The Ducks are not going to be Stanley Cup contenders this year or next. I would love to see some playoff hockey, but I am willing to be patient at this point. No reason to try and force the rebuild if deals just don't make sense. The way we become a playoff team, and a destination for free agents, for years and years is for the guys we do have to develop and improve. If this team stays healthy, and the young guys continue to improve, I think they have a shot at the playoffs. No need to sign Stamkos for two good years and two bad years. I am happy with Verbeek. I think when this team is a regular playoff team, he will make things happen. Until then, we have to trust in our player development program.

They’ve had hella issues with teams taking cheap shots at the kids cause there’s no one to step up. Idk what people smoke when they say goons/protectors aren’t needed. Yes they are and you’re a casual if you think they aren’t needed.

Glad we didn't do a stupid offer of over paying...we have plenty of pieces to make a trade to get a younger quality player....I believe in Verbeek....Cutter Gauthier is going to be with us all season and that is exciting...

How can we not sign anyone? Not a single player interested PV? As an example - how about Tatar - he signed for $1.5m! Plus, we still have Gibson. I guess we at least got rid of some dead wood but wow. Not impressed with PV at all.
We were on Tatars no trade list ages ago, so I guess he has no interest in playing here.
The situation has to make sense to the player, same as the AAV & Term. A lot of players don’t want to be on a rebuild team in a state with high taxes.
