Good info. Just a little correction: Scaling & fouling are different phenomena. Scales are hard in nature & difficult to remove, while fouling can be removed easily with pressure applications.

Mam, Hemispherical dish end joined to shell is also considered as Category A joint. Reason is Hemispherical head is preferred for high pressure equipment and hemi head is almost half of shell thickness. so there will be abrupt change is thicknesses at shell to dish joint. Thats why this joint is considered as critical joint and categorized as A so that full radiography needs to carry out at this joint.

Design temperature can be lesser than 250degC.... code provided allowable stress upto 250degC in first column. It means that even if my vessel design temperature is 200degC still I can use same allowable stress value from table.

Great lectures on pressure vessel professor. Would those notes be available to share ? Great notes. Also, would you possibly be able to cover few lectures based on ASME div 1 and div 2 ?

If Category-A Showed at hemispherical dish end and shell joint (Circumferential Joint), then it is not wrong. if the dish end is other than the hemispherical then it would be wrong.
