I just saw this, I know its a year old, so commenting is a bit off. I am glad I see an option like this. I always wish when people do reviews of how warm thing are would have a legit mercury thermometer inside and outside so we can see the actual temps. That being said, this could be a very good option for my cabin remodel. Thanks.
It's a great option for sure! This can heat a space to the point where it's too hot frankly. We have had winters in the teens and with sufficient time it can bring this tiny cabin to a comfy 70s and more if we kept it going.
So happy you found it useful! We have been using it for over a year now and still absolutely love it. We can set it to go on remotely before we arrive and it has really saved us and provided lots of comfort during the peak winter times.
Hi how long does it take for the floor to the warm? Looking to put it it the bathroom where youd need it for 30min at a time getting ready in the mornings and in the evening.
Did you use this space in the winter? Did you need to supplement another source of heat to help keep the space warm, or did the floor heating keep the space warm?
Hello and thank you for this video! I have a cabin upstate, it's on a slab, floating floors on top and it they are very very cold!! I'm planning on adding this product to the kitchen and living room which it makes about 600 sqft. My contractor send me a quote today of around $8000 including materials and labor. He would have to remove all the already installed first. I was wondering if it's worth paying that much or if you think that's a reasonable price. I also wonder if it could heat up those two rooms in the coldest nights of upstate NY. Thanks a lot!!!
That sounds like a big project! I would reach out to the company directly with your questions they are most knowledgeable. I finished installing mine right after winter last year so I haven't tested it in real winter. But it keeps my tiny home warm when it's in the 40s outside.
Hey Scott! We paid about $955 for the flooring, $150 for thermostat, electrician was free but was less than 1 hour of labor. So about $7/ sq ft. We really had more than we need though. Probably could have ordered 1/4th less and get similar results.

@@cbformula Have you found the flooring holds up/doesn't warp with the heating mats? Some vinyl plank manufacturers do not recommend heating mats directly under their vinyl planks.
@@themikeflanders3470 thats a great question, so far no problems at all. And I am very how some flooring companies say that. But that's usually associated with hydronic radiant floor where they use water in pex pipes. With these electric ones it's much safer and though not as strong as hydronic, it's more compatible by nature. Ultimately check with flooring supplier though.
Though we have a solar set up for this tiny home, we now have power at the land so we mainly use that when we need to stay warm in the North East Winters.

Electric heats up within seconds so it will depend on how cold your bathroom is. I would guessing general you will feel it within minutes

We used it for 2 winters actually and it was def warm enough to survive the NE winters. It can even be too hot if you leave it on too long.
@@OurFirstCabinWhat do you do when the electric goes off for a long period of time? You differently would need another kind of heat source

what brand of vinyl planks did you use?
I went with Cali Flooring. They make some pretty good quality stuff, but a little on a pricey side.

Are you using soaler to power the mats?

Very good.
oh forget it, looking for hydronic, not electric
