It's really up to driver skill. Bog an AWD drive turbo off the line and you're toast. I've seen some tuned STI's get beat by much lesser cars (like a Civic EX). AWD cars tend to understeer in turns 3 and 4 too. Without bigger swaybars, especially in the rear, Subaru's plow as if it were FWD. The Subaru STI in this video appears to have upgraded swaybars with lowering springs and a tune.
rrpostalagain yeah I would sure like to see any of those cars make it all week on Hot Rod's drag week!!!! granted they aren't going in circles just a straight line but 1500 brutal miles takes their toll... Trailer Queens end up going home the same way they came!!!
rrpostalagain I agree. I thought it was STREET CARS. This takes the fun out of it.They need to split it into different groups. I wouldn't be proud of winning against a NON-SPONSORED daily driver, when I have a FULLY SPONSORED TRAILER CAR.
@@rrpostalagain At least Brad Johnson has fixed his valve stem seals... Last time I saw him, he was using a quart of oil per 100'... All he had to do was get the lead and dump oil all over the track...
T Tana Hopefully they will all be at the next show in November! White with black stripes (Brad Johnson) is signed up for it, Chris Gomes is also signed up who raced the silver Camaro but I'm not sure if he'll be driving it. And haven't heard anything about Dave Martin in the orange Camaro
xTBERG thank you so much for your time you have made my evening ! ! I have not seen any of them guys run for at least a year or more . . he have a silver Camaro it's kind of my favorite but I miss them all did not realize how much they made the show for me :) I totally love this style of racing but tracks around me do not do this. people in my area never even heard of this kind of racing. I'm in Central PA Mifflintown PA.
T Tana Of course! I'm glad to share with you, they are definitely talented racers with cool cars to watch...Chris Gomes actually does a "sportsman" division of racing at Seekonk now but like I said he's signed up for the next Spectator Drag event haha
I've seen a bunch of these races and this time the winner did the burnout ! Usually the losers give up and do burnouts ! Good driving against that AWD !
David Featherlin Not sure about Waterford but at Seekonk the top 3 get trophies and paid out. $200 for 1st, $150 for 2nd, and $100 for 3rd is the usual payout
Why put regular miles on your favourite baby you spent hours & money on while driving 50-150miles through regular traffic, jams, traffic lights you guys have some weird issues. Most of those classics probably covered more road miles then all the cars driving in on their own wheels, besides all had road legal plates and there's no rules about transport methods.
Round 1 is hopeless - why line up almost Pro Touring class muscle with regular 2.0 - 3.0l FWD machines, at least let the regular guys have some fun and have a shoot-out between each other 1st before they get steam rolled later.
THE FLAGMAN NEEDS TO MOVE FORWARD 30 FT SO THE DRIVERS CAN SEE THE FLAG EQUALLY. ALSO HE SHOULD NOT TRY TO DECIEVE OR SURPRISE THE DRIVERS WITH DIFFERENT LOOKS OF THE STARTING FLAG, SOMETIMES WAVING IT BELOW THE DOOR OF THE NEAREST CAR SO THE OTHER DRIVER CAN'T SEE IT. GREAT ENTERTAINMENT, BUT KEEP IT FAIR.
Subaru WRX are always a menace on the track to beat!! the scoobie is a beast

All the cars that were towed in win the first round. Surprise. Much more fun for me to think these cars are on the street.
rrpostalagain The cars that were trailered there are all from Ma, we traveled to this track in CT.
xTBERG Fair enough. Just takes some fun out of it. I drove my car from KC to Ft Worth to the track. Just fitting extra tires was a hassle.
rrpostalagain I hear ya man aha

I know this video is 3yrs old but is that yellow/blue Earnhardt monte still around?
Thanks for the video I wanted to see the cars close up
I love that Subaru
I see that spectator drag cars have evolved into prepped race machines. Kinda takes away from the whole deal.
I notice the crowd seemed kinda bored also.
labrd41 Exactly. Race what you drove there. I don't see half these cars ever getting groceries.
@@rrpostalagain At least Brad Johnson has fixed his valve stem seals... Last time I saw him, he was using a quart of oil per 100'... All he had to do was get the lead and dump oil all over the track...
There should be a rule that all drag cars have to be daily driver the week before events
But that Subaru almost had it
If your trailering a car - you should be disqualified!
This is NOT a professional sport.....
Good job 3rd gen camaro winner. Nice driving
Nice video and a thumbs up liked.
Great clip as always!
TunnelSharks V2 Thank you! Glad you like it.
Trailered car beats a subaru wow :/
where did these 3 Camaros go I do not see them anymore at spectator drags I truly miss them !!! the Johnson Boys and Glassman Auto

xTBERG that's awesome I will look for it :) ) ) I will subscribe :))
xTBERG when is the next show ??? I've been impatiently waiting :)))))) I sure hope the Glassman cars there
Best one I have seen
3rd gen Camaro getting mad respect!!!
A REAL spectator drag racer drives his shit to the track.
Um, unloading at a spectator drags event!?!?
Robert Belote Yeah Seekonk regulars made the trip to this track, wanted to trailer them because of the distance and if something went wrong
Finally! Some good races! Wish it was only RWD/FWD. Get to see who has throttle control.
I've seen a bunch of these races and this time the winner did the burnout ! Usually the losers give up and do burnouts ! Good driving against that AWD !
Does this event pay you out if you win and how much exactly
David Featherlin Not sure about Waterford but at Seekonk the top 3 get trophies and paid out. $200 for 1st, $150 for 2nd, and $100 for 3rd is the usual payout
Guess these people don't understand that heating up street tires makes them slick
Damn that was exciting to watch seekonk vs seekonk there, Waterford cars were a blowout. But otherwise fun action.
Did John Johnson blow his motor?
John Allen yup haha he will have it together for the upcoming season though
Crummy matchups. Full on race cars don't belong in spectator races.
They are all street cars.
Thought your supposed to drive it to the track ! Bunch of crap trailing them to the track

Jon Johnson lost that on purpose to keep Brad in.
It's fixed, flag man is waving the where only the car next to him can see it which by the way is a ringer!
Like to see these seekonk guys go down to the freedom factory
ok, besides the fact that it doesn't seem to be a22 ×34
The fastest car actually won go figure
Bad ass Camaro
Good racing, ending with 4bang and 8cyl! love both but hate tupuware.
Why is the starter not in a fair to view position? I wouldn't be happy on the inside with the starter positioned where he is
He is also lining them up so he stays close to the checkered line, normally there are 2 people doing those jobs.
Round 1 is hopeless - why line up almost Pro Touring class muscle with regular 2.0 - 3.0l FWD machines, at least let the regular guys have some fun and have a shoot-out between each other 1st before they get steam rolled later.
16:58 I know that problem, blown head gasket

Nathan Williams and his light grey hatchback Audi was awesome out there!...Go Audi, Go Audi, Go Audi!
Audiwan Kenobi He definitely had some great starts and gave everyone a run for their money...it is actually a Subaru wrx hatchback though.
xTBERG My eyes only see Audis dominating the field,I have my loyalties, I hope that you understand..BWHAHAHAHA!
Audiwan Kenobi Ight whatever makes you happy lol would be nice to see an Audi R8 on the track ;)
sti kids
wtf! How many times does a loser get to keep trying to win on this track?
As he explodes down the back... stretch
that truck would have beat everything out there in a straight line...EASY!
No respect for the towed in cars... Booooooooo
so glad american won.....again. ricers sucks....again
Thomas Leathers um trailer queens with race tires barely able to take down 4 cylinder wagon... who sucks again?
@@alexyoungberg5232 Apply truth ointment to burned area.
In a field full American v8 muscle only one Subaru and gets 2nd place. Pretty impressive!
Mustangs can't go straight or turn corners
