I would recommend moving the desks that are up against the wall away from the wall. Most people don't realize it but we almost always prefer to look out at something while working instead of facing a wall. Even just turning them around so that they face away from the wall will probably result in them getting more use.

Mimi probably the reason why you all prefer to work on the table is according to feng shui you shouldn't place your desk opposite to a wall because it blocks the energy to flow and also your creativity. The ideal place to put your desk is directly opposite the front door of your office.
I haven't read all the comments, so someone may already have told you this, but you can buy covers for older ikea couches on Benz.com. Its a Swedish company but they ship internationally and have a vide variety. Love your videos, and your style!
Hi Mimi - I wondered if you had considered moving the chairs to the other side of the desks so that instead of facing the wall at those workstations, you guys face each other - I think it makes work life more interactive and sociable, and you will use all of your space. It's much nicer looking inwards at everybody's beautiful face! Love your channel - my daily inspiration 💕

Your dining table riddle - I have the same thing happening here (as I work from home). My dining table is where I go to seek clarity when there are a million and one things to juggle. It serves as my number one place for planning for the day or the week ahead. I also have 'two' work desks - one with the computer and one with a 'no digital devices' policy. Here I can get a great chunk of work done. Oh and just this past weekend I added an official sewing table for my work. I think as entrepreneurs, it doesn't feel quite right to be tied down to one location. But rather we have a need to remove ourselves from consistency and habit to always feel refreshed. It's like we are taking a break from the work that's become what we love to do, without really taking a break from it.
I think the reason the white desk areas aren't used because they are facing towards the wall and that means you have your back to the rest of the room. Most people don't like the idea of people being able to see the projects they're working on as they work on them. If you move the tables to the center, they will probably feel more welcoming. Just an idea! And also keep up the great work. You guys are inspiring.

Very beautiful office! One useful tip I want to share: a toilet lid must be closed every time, the same as the door to WC. According to Feng Shui water is energy and when you keep the WC lid oped you just flush your money flow.

Loved this film, thanks so much for sharing! It is beautiful. You probably prefer to sit with your back to the wall to work because it feels safer. We have evolved to feel unsafe when our backs aren't covered and it raises cortisol levels and increases stress. I am much more productive now I work with a wall behind me instead of centrally in the middle of the office. Best wishes to the whole team. xx

I have a Karlstad sofa, chaise, and chair and I was also disappointed to see it was discontinued but then I found Comfort Works and Bemz. They make covers for Ikea furniture. I ended up going with Comfort Works because they had the exact color I was looking for and Bemz fabrics contain a stain resistant chemical that I could smell. Their materials look really nice though. I'm very happy with my cover from Comfort Works. Anyway, I hope this helps. Your office is so beautifully decorated!

Guys, thank you for sharing such an inspiring things! To tell the truth, I've always been terrified by the single idea of working in office. For me it was acociated with darkness, loads of people and stress atmosphere. Right now I really can see that it could be different. In fact, I even came to the conclusion, that you can always take a general idea, even idea of something that you dislike (e.g. 'office' for me) and turn unto something you absolutely adore. So thank you!

Hallo Mimi, in Germany there are online stores, where you can purchase covers for Ikea furniture. Even for the discontinued ones and they have a bigger fabric variety then Ikea.

I would move the low book case under the shelves where Alex currently sits, and put the two desks jutting out perpindicular to the wall where the low bookcase is, centered on the wall, joined so they face each other. move the loveseat between the new desk area and low bookshelf, and put a long standing desk/bar table in front of the window.

I think there are two main reasons why you go on the wood table and why Alex works where he works :
- Light ! Natural Light
- Privacy : except Alex, no-one can go behind someone else's screen. It would not be the case on the desk where the monkey is : everyone who would enter the place would be able to see the screen of the person on this desk.
=> it's a known pb, I faced it in an internship as well. I was doing my job, but I felt like I was supervised all the time just because of the desk setting (no one was really peeking on my screen, but it made me feel uncomfortable).
Maybe these informations will help you when you re-design the space :-)
