Heck yeah especially at my school, Santiago High School in Corona California. Our varsity football team is trash but the BOSS (Bands and Orchestras of Santiago Sharks) is absolutely awesome. I play trombone in the band tho im a freshman, so im not in the bigger group

am in my freshman year of college now - played sousa my junior year of hs before becoming drum major. don't give up!! start building those muscles now (especially upper and lower back), and don't forget to stretch!!

I play the tuba, last weekend I went with my future high school to play with the marching band at a football game, I swear my back and left shoulder was hurting for like 2 days by the sousaphone, but it was fun and all, just got to pratice cause I’m slow
I’ve been playing tuba for 4 years and marching for 2 and I couldn’t even imagine doing this. im like 5’3 and the other tubas are like 5’8 and above, so I would like fall over because of how short I am.

I still haven’t ever heard an answer for what the difference is other than needing a little more air to play a sousaphone, which doesn’t matter enough to feel the need to correct people who call it a tuba instead of a Sousaphone
I would be more supportive if I hadn't, personally, had the set screws on sousaphone bells come loose and the bell fall off. That would be a very expensive 'oops'. They sounded great, though.
