That thumbnail got me. Everyone is insulating for winter. I love winter! Santa here I come! It's summer that I hate. Freaking Hades from the Hercules stories comes to my garage in the summer, because it's hotter than hell during that time of year
How has the double-back tape held up in the heat? I also noticed that you attached the pieces over the joints of the door. Any problems with the insulation staying in place after raising the lowering the door over and over?
-SMP- scientific method perspective before the install, inside the garage would feel like 90 degrees on a 95-100 day. With the insulation, it’s dropped to about 80-83 respectively inside the garage with the same outdoor temps. It really does work. Tons of different methods on RUclips. I just chose this route because it’s cheaper and easier to install
Question... does this also help in the winter time? I live in Maryland, and I'm studying agriculture so I'm trying to clear my garage and create a indoor hydroponic greenhouse for a big project. Do you think this will also help with the cold?
Hello lam I have question your door good ideas and I see your garage you have strut can you let me know you installed or manufactured..if you adding strut can you let know..where you order website thank you your time buddy
Since you have the foil pieces so snug top to bottom, do they bow out or anything when the door opens and the panels turn? I thought the foil pieces were supposed go further in and stick onto the flat door panels, not the outer ridges. Just wondering.
Doooooood! I was about to run down to a store and buy a bunch of the solid foam insulation. This looks like a WAY better way to go. This stuff creates a natural air gap too. Which I guess is important for this reflective stuff to work properly. Thanks for video. 👍🏼
Good video. Thanks! You mentioned you purchased a ac unit first. Is it a portable ac or window unit? I’m considering the same for my garage. I think the insulation is important too.
Mike I have a 'Mini-split' a/c in my garage. It heats also (heat pump). It cost under $1,000. Easy to install. I'm an a/c man but you can do it. I used a Daikin brand but there are a lot of others- Fujitsu, Mitsubishi, Gree, LG.
lmao you did it wrong. your supposed to just stuff it in the rectangle not just lay it on top. the fact that you did your whole garage wrong is hilarious

Damn what a head of hair. Lucky you. Nice insulation.

WOW, never thought of that, especially living in Florida seems to be a must.
Thank you for posting this video. I had been trying to find one with the steel reinforced garage doors.
The double sided tape doesn't melt off? What's temperature does your summers get up to?

@@KantstandlamGarage interesting that the adhesive has held up after this long. Thanks for the informative response

Yes, If you got a heater it will help keep it warm inside.
Should put more insulation behind those? Or use 2 coats for each section?
John lim you can. I only had enough for one layer. It’s a cheap way to insulate it at the time. I’m sure there’s more effective methods

Love the way you changed the headlights of your ISF, where did you buy that and how much?
Does this work on wood garage doors?
Who can tell what is the temperature before and after?
What if u have a wood door?
What's the R factor?
It's not really an insulation. It's a reflective barrier. Works differently.
What about heat coming from the roof? I think a lot of it is heat from the roof channeling down so its not just the aluminum garage door IMO.
Watch at 2x speed. You won't miss anything.
i did and yes its true LOl
Just got mine today 😁
Thanks for the nice video.
Pretty sure he's wearing a fur yamaka. swanky my man

his method makes a larger air gap between the barrier and the garage door. which increases the R factor.
Apparently you don't know what the word "barrier" means.
Dumbass!
The garage door....I'll bet....is steel....not aluminum......
Are you mixed?
