It is not untouched now.
My father used to work in Pithoragarh. I went there 2006,07,08,12.
It was a remote town with nothing but two hotels zara and a KMVN TRH.
Come 2022, I went there. I was extremely shocked to see swaths of DL,HR, UP cars and resorts/hotels starting 5km before the town. Even khalia top path is now fully developed and easy to find
But yeah it’s a beautiful place
