Nobody told me that the road was gonna be easy.......I dont believe that He brought me this far to leave me................Love this! This song is hand core!!!!!!!!!
I found this album and a few more of Rev. Cleveland at Goodwill with no scratches on them, I felt as though I found a treasure. This man can make you forget all your problems that life has given you.
I have been listening and absorbing this whole record for decades. Everynow and then when I need a reboot, I come back right here and lift myself up. Just a rare and special recording.............
I was home this year and sang in the Soprano section on this recording..Salem Baptist Church Omaha Nebraska the church I was born into and raised in and will forever be grateful for this. We had a one of a kind choir director in Doreatha Wade and we were blessed to have been nominated for a Grammy. Precious memories
Yes the church is still around. I have been a member since the vomb & I love my church. We have moved from the old building to our church on the hill & Pastor Bachus is taking us to new heights through Christ!
reminds me of my momma. This was one of the many records that she would spin on the turntable every Sunday morning. Man I can smell the pancakes and bacon cooking! Rest on momma(1940-2015).
All through nursing School... I don't believe he brought me this far!!! I will keep praising him all yhe way to NCLEX! Thank you Lord. You've manifested in ways I can't put into words. I'm forever grateful.
This is the church I was born and raised in here in Omaha Nebraska under the Rev Drs JC Wade Sr and Maurice Watson. Two of my aunties are on the cover. This is our old church building.
Rev Cleveland speaks of the 82 year old woman and her faith. That sent chills down my spine. I think of the older people in churches all over the world. Is it me or do young people kind of snub the old saints. Do the young consider the older church members past their prime? I can testify that I learned a lot listening to an older Sister or Brother talking of the "Hard Times" and how, through Faith in God, they persevered. My mother is 97 years old and tried to teach her 9 children to believe in God and speak the truth. I am sure I have failed her many, many times. But I also know that my Mother's Faith has been a Rock of Ages in my life. There was always a comfort knowing my Mom was praying fervently for her children. I don't know what I will do when she finally passes but I am very grateful for the gift she has given.

I was little when Ms Doreatha and Ms Marsha left but I remember being sad that they did.
2 of my aunties are on here. Annie Fisher and my aunt Diane.
You are blessed that you have these memories.
When you go through a storm, you never forget the songs that your mother use to play.
Amen

My mom used to listen to this every Saturday, while we were cleaning house.

I love the long version. I like hearing the entire story in the song, although the shorter versions are still good.
I remember these songs in real time. The extended versions always give life!
