Lou, a very rare car - even in the day. My first car was a factory-ordered '76 Hornet 'X" package with a 304 V8. It was essentially the same car as the AMX Hornet featured here minus some cosmetics. These cars actually had a very capable chassis. All engines of the era were smogged down, including the AMC's. With that being said, these cars would run with anything in their class in the day. Still pissed-off the guys running Fords, GM's, and Mopars. It still makes me chuckle all these years later... Terrific find Lou... a trip down memory lane for me.✌🏼
What a treat to see ! And I remember Ole Rusty Jones ! One of my first jobs was rust proofing cars for a competitor back in the day ! Don't miss that job ! Beautiful beautiful car and great video !
Lou, I don't know if I love AMC's so much because they're awesome cars, or if I just feel sorry for them. Bit of both I guess. Wow that was fun video to watch. I had the same car, same color with the 304. So rare to see one now. Mine had black interior. It was pretty sporty back in the day. The poor quality sheet metal in cars of that era caused most to rust out. Also the plastics didn’t hold up well. That one was really loved. Great job to the owner. Considerably rarer than some older cars.

There is nothing to do, Mr. Wunrow was the one destined to take this magnificent AMC Hornet in Sunshine Yellow! The AMX package makes it look quite attractive and sporty; but the most pleasant surprise was the small factory-optional tent (they did well not to disturb the friendly Pink Panther resting peacefully in the back! Haha). A nice interior, in brown, with a good layout of the instruments and sports style seats. As always, the collection of magnificently preserved brochures and manuals is extraordinary. This vehicle, and its history behind it, were very interesting! Best regards, Lou!

Also thought the targa bar on top looked out of place, but I guess AMC didn't have much to work with and this was the best they could do. Nice car nonetheless and thanks for sharing, Lou!
Very nice, congrates to the owner. I bought a new 74 Hornet Hatchback when I was 16, came from the factory with the 75 front end grille . Color was called Mellow Yellow. Also had the 258 engine.
