Sandler is the epitome of respectfulness as the conversation is COMPLETELY unrelated to him, or any of his personal experiences. But his expressions show he is trying to be empathetic to a fellow human being who is explaining some trying situations.

This is a 5 minute clip from a ~50 minute show. I'm guessing that Adam Sandler had something to say elsewhere during the episode, probably about a movie of his or the like. It stands to reason that he wouldn't have much to contribute to a discussion of an English TV show about the royal family. Why are people confused by this?

wunnell I'm confused by this because he's generally a funny guy and I'd expect him to be enjoying the group mood, not looking under sufferance for being there. These women are being very entertaining and funny and I can't really imagine anyone having so little to contribute within a group setting like this! At the very least crack a smile. Can he only talk if its about him and his blockbusters? I like Adam Sandler and don't hold it against him but he didn't represent himself very well and that's a fact.

Let’s also remember that it’s Adam’s first time on the show, and he’s probably not as used to the format. Almost all other chat shows have the guests one at a time, so the interaction is minimal. So he’s probably not as used to being able to chime in at any time, and doesn’t want to be rude by cutting in during someone else’s story. The format for this show works great for most guests, but you can usually tell when certain guests aren’t as comfortable or as sure of how to navigate it when the guests are able to interact and talk over each other.
He is just an introvert. Nothing wrong with that. I am an introvert myself and usually this is how i act when i am with a group of people i don't know. I just sit quietly most of the time uncomfortably.
I'm an introvert but comfortable in those situations. Usually say something when I feel it's really important. Funnily enough my day job is an inspector so I meet lots of people everyday but when I'm at work, it's my job to be authoritative. Luckily it doesn't get in the way whilst on the job
Graham N is unquestionably the most skilled and entertaining interviewer/host on TV.
Claire Foy looks gorgeous here. I absolutely love, love, love The Crown. I understand the premise of the show but it's still sad to see her go.

I'm kind of blown away by the level of Streep-like brilliance coming from the UK & Ireland the last several years. I'm not using Meryl Streep as the benchmark because she's a woman. She just happens to represent the high water mark of film acting, male or female. Claire Foy has been phenomenal in everything I've seen her in. Her performance in First Man was so finely tuned. Likewise Rosamund Pike, Carey Mulligan, Saoirse Ronan, Andrea Riseborough...one after the other. My Lord, I forgot to mention Olivia Colman for gawd's sake.
I will now always imagine the Queen practicing her Royal accent like Claire before a speech, lol!

Adam didn't say much, if anything really, in this five minutes for two reasons;
1: he was being polite and letting the ladies talk.
2: he didn't understand a single fu@k¡Ng word they said! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It was also not about him.......The show is 1 hour long, they all get to speak and interact. Graham knows how to balance it out, and also gets them all to get drunk before they go on, so maybe the yanks cant handle it as much. Check out Mark Walberg on the show when he fell asleep from being too drunk.

I think they're just insulting his movies haha but if he brings the lowbrow humour that is famous in his movies then I don't think he'd be much better as a stand-up comedian, however I saw Rob Schneider do a stand-up show and he was hilarious haha so who knows, but Sandler's movies from the last 10 years or so have been a bit of a disgrace to be honest, especially when u read reviews hahaha some of his 90s work though was pure genius... I've always noticed that he's pretty shy/nervous unless he's interviewed by people he knows well. He's just pretty shy in general, and only really gets boisterous when he's actually performing. Also, honestly why would he need to interject at all in her story?
