I loved David AND Mike, and I agreed she should've been with Mike ultimately, but I absolutely loathed how they did David at the end. He was a sweet guy, he didn't really deserve public humiliation.
Also, I've said it before, but I hated the Joey/Rachel stuff. I felt like it brought things down AND it felt forced because they were such good platonic friends by season 8/9 that it was like watching a brother and sister. I wasn't super happy with Ross/Rachel, either, so it's not that. I just couldn't stand how lazy it was to put Rachel with the only other 'friend'.

I was always a fan of the character but they really just ruthlessly binned him off here, which I thought was a shame given the amount of time they put into him and Phoebe over the years. Kinda hard to get behind Phoebe and Mike after that lol. I think the best thing about season 9 was that Chandler felt like he was back to his old self and on form again.

I always imagined him getting a happy ending though. Two: I didn’t mind Joey and Rachel. It was nice to see them be cute and I feel like other than the drama with Ross their relationship was so wholesome and not so toxic like Rachel’s and Ross was.
Joey may not be the smartest guy around but in his own way he is. All the furniture does point at the tv. He’s just smart and perceptive about his own life.

Yeah, friends doesn't have a bad episode or season imo. The entire series is great. I do agree they could have handled the joey/rachel/ross thing so much better. But its kinda fun watching their journey, I just think they should have been a couple longer in seasons 3/4 maybe even 5 before breaking them up, and then put them back together around season 8 and we could have gotten some other coupley storylines with them instead of this stuff. But, RR or not, the show itself is great, no matter what the storylines. I just think the friendship between the 6 is superior to other series.
